I´m curious about this Rev. Corey Brooks. Looks like he might run for Jesse Jackson Jr.´s seat.

I wonder how he feels about our Lord and Savior, Barack Obama.

There seems to be an undercurrent of cynicism and hate in this community. This attitude doesn´t come from those who believe in the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Now this has potential. If two thugs are killed per funeral, then......

It is difficult to pray for those that won´t help themselves. Hard to feel sympathy for those who won´t do for themselves and have no problem taking from from others. Choices have consequences...big ones. They choose to live the life they do, they choose drugs, crime ridden lives, choose to live like animals, choose to live in a way that is not living, contributing, being a member of society.

The shooters did no favors -- now the taxpayers get to give them healthcare, and the shooters get away. Coulda been a 3fer or 4fer if the shootees had succumbed.

Ole Rahm wants America to "do it the Chicago way"..that should tell us everything we need to know.

The State of Illinois should immediately reinstate the death penalty to reduce the death and injury occurring in Chicago. Reinstatement of the death penalty would seem to be a no-brainer since most of the victims in Chicago are Democrats who look like Obama.

Looked up St. Columbanus Church and found that it´s Catholic. Looked up Rev. Corey Brooks out of curiosity. (He didn´t sound like any Catholic priest I´ve ever met -- planning a run for JJJr.´s congressional seat and leaving by the side door to do a radio interview.)

Sure enough, the Reverend is not Catholic, but a bona fide "hoodologist." According to his website:

"A pastor to pastors, Pastor Brooks has ministered internationally in Asia, Africa, and South America; he is frequently called upon to teach church planting strategies, leadership and urban ministry development locally and nationally. Because of his success in urban ministry development, he has been deemed a “Hoodologist.”

So why is the Catholic Church in Chicago renting out its pulpit to hoodologists? What next? Ganstatarians?

Illinois may not have the death penalty but gangs sure do. This weekend we´ll probably hear about the shooting deaths of the suspected shooters and on and on it goes.

This means extra food stamps for everyone!

While Brooks may have "preached the funeral", he certainly isn´t a Catholic priest, and as for being a pastor, well, he´s likely a $10 pastor - e.g., $10 for the certificate.

Just exactly how is Rham going to address this problem? Will a jouralist ask the hard questions?

Ex: how did guns get into hands of gang members? How are law abiding citizens supposed to protect themselves?
What new law will you pass that will restrict my freedom, but not stop violence.

It is not clear whether the funeral was being held at the church or the funeral home which is cross the street.

In the video Rev Brooks des not mention being in church...just the "funeral."

Since eulogies are not (supposed to be) permitted in Catholic funerals, I think the writer of the article assumed it was in the church because a church happened to be there.

With the in-depth reporting and fact checking done these days I don´t trust anyone or anything I read.

BTW..this Rev. Brooks seems to be a good guy and just might make a difference if he got JJJr.s seat.

Notwithstanding the fact that the ongoing violence in Chicago is very sad, today the internet had an article with the Mayor stating that the whole USA "should be like Chicago", which shows just how ignorant the man is. and
he was Obama´s aide in the WH !
