CNN reports that practically all Americans went shopping over "Black Friday" weekend. "A record 247 million shoppers visited stores and websites in the post-Thanksgiving Black Friday weekend this year, up 9% from 226 million last year, according to a survey by the National Retail Federation released Sunday," the CNN reports reads. The headline reads: "247 million shoppers visited stores and websites Black Friday weekend." This would seem to mean, according to these statistics, that basically all Americans over the age of 14 went shopping this past weekend. There are, according to

Nope. I stayed home and watched football for 3 days. There´s no way in hell I´m shopping the weekend after Thanksgiving....none.

So this means either one of two things: People are excited about the coming fiscal cliff and Obama solving the problems or; People are scared as hell and want to get some good deals before inflation hits, more unemployment occurs, and stores are boarded up!

Stayed home and shopped online. And also, spent quality time with my family.

This does include online shopping. How about those who saw commercials and witnessed advertisements on billboards/radio? Silly reporting

I REALLY hate it when the MSM tells me what I did. Not one person in my family stepped foot in a store to shop over Thanksgiving. NOT ONE. Another example of ridiculous , inaccurate reporting.

Probably a data error. I think they meant the

This ´survey´ includes those who visited ´websites´ and could even include news sites. That means us, I guess. All us LDotters went shopping this weekend and didn´t even know it.

Wonder what the spin will be when we crash back into a real depression.

Then, what does that make me? I am an adult and I didn´t go shopping. Neither did any of the other adults I was with go shopping. What else is CNN saying?

So, if you went to the mall and shopped at the toy store, the book store, the coffeeshop, the discount sweater place and the food court - it counts as 5 people.

Reply 22 - Posted by: GardenGal, 11/26/2012 2:14:11 PM     (No. 9034588)

Out of my family of five, only one went into a store to do shopping, (one of my kids works in a store), and all she bought was a cough medication since she had a cold. Yes, I went to some online stores to look at things but didn´t buy anything. We are definitely spending much less here this Christmas as we await the giant tax hike of the fiscal cliff.

If every single adult in Philadelphia can vote for Obama, why can´t all adults in America go shopping on Black Friday weekend?

Reply 25 - Posted by: lingillen, 11/26/2012 2:32:02 PM     (No. 9034630)

I believe it, that every (liberal) person went shopping on Black Friday: none of them had jobs to go to, they got to push people around, and they got merchandise at cut-rate prices, that some of them can re-sell, at inflated prices, on e-bay.

Those at CNN who arrived at the figures in this article, are the same people who poll would-be voters and count their votes. If a shopper visited 5 stores, he was counted 5 times. Makes perfect sense.

Not anyone I knew.
And our family stayed home and played Rummicub, Scrabble and 20 Questions. Great family day.
I can´t imagine going shopping on black Friday.
I hate shopping anyway and it would be akin to the 7th circle of Hell to go out on Friday.

Due to the twisted stories or outright lies, and covering up of Obama´s lies, by Soladad O´Brien and Anderson Cooper, people have abandoned CNN by the thousands. The TV rating services have them at the bottom of all networks. Those left watching are considered as gullible androids and undependable to know any truth whatsoever.

I shopped on Small Business Saturday and bought something I actually needed. American Express credited me $25 for shopping so I was out about $20. Somehow I don´t think that was much of an indicator of a recovery.

THE BATHROOM IS LARGE, immaculate and low-lit, finished in rich wood, floor-to-ceiling mirrors and brushed metal. Wearing the thick bathrobe provided by an attendant, I walk from the shower to the wash basin. The heat radiates from the floor through my slippers. I have my own shaving gear with me but still browse through boxes and trays for accoutrements I might prefer. This is one of the nicest lavatories I´ve ever been in. It also happens to be 35,000 feet in the air. I´m aboard one of Emirates Airline´s double-decker Airbus A380s. According to the flight-progress map

It happens now and then. You hear a story so sad, so beautiful, so filled with loss and pain and grief and love, that it makes you cry. Really cry. Two years ago, I was making a grocery run for my family on Memorial Day when a story came on the local NPR station in Oxford, Miss. It was about a father whose son had been killed in action in northwest Afghanistan. The father was Paul Monti; his son was Sergeant Jared Monti. Jared died in Afghanistan trying to save the life of one of his men.

The recent attack on a British soldier by assassins wielding meat cleavers while bystanders looked on raises the question: “Why didn’t anyone try to help the victim?” Because British citizens are prohibited from carrying objects that could be used as “offensive weapons.” While it is well known that Brits cannot carry guns, a lesser known law prohibits any subject of the Queen from carrying a knife of consequence, pepper spray or a stun gun.According to the United Kingdom government website, the online storehouse of British government regulations, it is illegal to:

DALLAS—It hasn´t been the best of years for Big Tex, the 52-foot-tall animatronic cowboy who has greeted visitors to the State Fair of Texas for decades. His mechanical hand, which waved from side to side as he bellowed "Hoooowdy folks," stopped working before the fair opened last September. His 60th birthday celebration, which was to include one of the country´s biggest marching bands, was rained out. Then catastrophe struck three days before the fair ended last October. After a suspected electrical short inside his size 70 cowboy boots, Mr. Tex went up in a burst of flames that devoured

What would help a lot right now, as the chilling reality of savagery engulfs us, would be a cultural green light to begin calling evil what it is, to begin calling it by its name, to stop dancing around demographics because of the fear someone, somewhere will take offense. There is always someone, somewhere looking for a reason to be offended. Jesse Jackson has fashioned a lucrative career out of being perpetually peeved. It works if you know how to play the game. The White House on Friday didn’t respond to a report that Attorney General Eric Holder authorized the seizure a Fox News reporter’s phone and email records — and with no daily press briefing scheduled Friday that could mean silence from the administration through the Memorial Day weekend. NBC News reported Thursday that Holder approved the search of Fox News reporter James Rosen’s private emails and phone records in a probe of leaked government information. That revelation came just as the president ordered Holder to review Justice Department guidelines for investigating reporters. White House officials have not yet responded

President Obama’s speech at the National Defense University calling for an end to the war on terror forces the question of who gets to declare peace. The Left wing in our political debate has been agitating for some time to repeal the authorization to use military force that the Congress passed after 9/11. The President boarded the bandwagon yesterday. He vowed he would sign no laws designed to expand the mandate and declared outright that he looks forward “to engaging Congress and the American people in efforts to refine, and ultimately repeal” the congressional mandate to use force.

Washington rumor has it that Obama wants to be U.N. Secretary General. There are several reasons that make that likely, and if it´s true, it throws new light on a lot of Obama´s oddities -- including his Royalty Bows, his Apology Tours, his Muslim Sellout, and the Benghazi Cover-Up. But first -- why would Obama be planning to become the chief of the U.N. before he has even finished his second term?

In fact, the dots are already connected directly to the president. Barack Obama is not foolish enough to have a tape recording system hidden in his desk. And his administration staff are not careless enough to send one another incriminating e-mails.
