| Washington - The White House could finally have its chance to close the books on its Benghazi public relations disaster, as key Republicans signal they might not stand in the way of U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice to become the next secretary of state. "I think she deserves the ability and the opportunity to explain herself and her position," Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., told "Fox News Sunday." ´´But she´s not the problem. The problem is the president of the United States," who, McCain said, misled the public on terrorist involvement. Rice is widely seen as President Barack Obama´s top pick

They really need to grill her on why she was so active on turning BinLaden down during Clinton. You could arguably blame 3000 deaths and two big wars on that decision.

So, if our choice is lying, foul-mouthed Susan Rice or lying, turncoat John Kerry, I´m not sure I see an advantage or disadvantage to either. I´m assuming Graham and McCain feel the same way.

When the liberal Democrats pull the race card trigger, the wimpy Republicans just about always back down. It´s pretty simple, and is allowing a small socialist minority of less then 15% to generally run the country into the ground.

AP´s Flaherty spinning like mad with "Benghazi public relations disaster". An unauhorized war in Libya, an unprotected consulate denied security, an ambassador and 3 other Americans murdered by terrorist, a White House refusing help and a president lying about it all. That´s a national security disaster, not a PR fiasco.
But the AP just yawns.

Christmas is coming, so you know McCain and Lindsey will be questioning Susan Rice in matching reindeer sweaters. Lindsey´s troubling and "passionately worded" first question: "Outside of the new middle east vermin we created in the ´Arab Spring´ knowing, in you, we are sending an even more offensive, butch, empty, exceptionally good liar than was the last one, would you say that the race card is your most valuable consideration for this office?" -- will be tempered to a more republican sounding, "Sme say ´Character is only a litmus test to those who believe a country should have character´. I will only dd, ´Does this sweater make me look fat"

Allow me to offer this, one more time. Lisa Jarrett is the person running the president and his presidency. She is closest to him and to Michelle, and has advanced their careers, behind the scenes. So if Susan Rice became Secretary of State, that might diminish Jarrett´s power and influence in the White House. So Jarrett sent out the dimbulb Rice to go on all those sunday news shows to tell a big lie, over and over again. And Jarrett would know that the lie would collapse around Rice´s tiny head, after the election, which would make Rice unacceptable as Secretary of State. But now it may be backfiring on Jarrett. Rice will be nominated by President Zero, and will be confirmed. Is my hypothesis correct?

It seems the GOP has tired of being gang-beaten by the Left and their mainstream press for being ´the party of No´, and are feeling nostalgic for the days when they simply complained as they bent over to the Dems.
Will this reenergize the Tea Party movement and give Conservative voters a voice in Washington? Or does this spell the death throes of everything to the Right of RINO on the political spectrum?
Much of the blame should fall directly on AssPress and the rest of the Alinskian Propaganda machine popularly known as the mainstream media (but more accurately as the enemedia for their anti-American agenda).

#18 - Obama´s brain is called Valerie Jarrett, not Lisa. Valerie dominates the "left" side, and actually, only side of Obama´s small brain. The Lisa you mentioned is Lisa Jackson, EPA Marxist, who is known as Obama´s rectum for the waste matter she imposes on US business and citizens.

I think this will work out in the GOP´s favor.
First - criticize Rice and have B.O. come out and loudly defend her. Make a big deal out of it ... all over the media. Totally behind Rice.
Second - GOP announces easing of criticism, giving B.O. green light to appoint her as Sec. of State. At this point B.O. would look rather foolish if he didn´t appoint her.
Third - confirmation hearings - Rice has to testify under oath ... GOP can ask all kinds of questions that they wouldn´t have the opportunity otherwise.

And my Party wonders why we don´t always trust it? If Rice BELIEVED the supposed intel on Benghazi re: that YouTube video she does not really know her field: Africa, which is her strong point. And if she hit the 5 Sunday talk shows just to promote the Obama view, she is nothing more than a puppet, willing to go along to get along. Neither is a recommendation of worth. But then again, MY Republican party voted Eric Holder in without a problem.

If I ran the RNC, I´d have 100 investigators out digging up every square inch of dirt I could find on her to unload during the Senate hearings. Nothing held back. Just unload and destroy her.

The Republicans are gentlemen who give in to everything. They allow themselves to be accused of everything and never fight back. They give in to the most insidious of opposition demands. The don´t really want to lead this country. They just want to play golf and have a nice cushy job. Gingrich was the only one what was leading them out of the bog. And even Gingrich has that tendency to give up. They got rid of him and marginalized him. We need a new party.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration issued its 2013 Atlantic hurricane outlook on Thursday, with a warning that the United States could be hit by up to six major hurricanes this year. The seasonal average is three. Oceanic and atmospheric conditions in the Atlantic basin are expected to create stronger and more hurricanes, setting the stage for an “above normal and extremely active” season, said Gerry Bell, lead seasonal hurricane forecaster for NOAA’s Climate Prediction Center, who explained the underlying reasons in a NOAA video.

Washington - President Obama said Thursday he was troubled by the possibility that leak investigations may "chill" investigative journalism and said he had asked Atty. Gen. Eric H. Holder Jr. to review Justice Department guidelines for going after reporters or their records. "Journalists should not be at legal risk for doing their jobs. Our focus must be on those who break the law," Obama said, referring to those who leak secret information. The statement seemed to mark a departure for the president, who has been particularly determined to investigate those in his administration who leak national

Niamey, Niger - Suicide bombers in Niger detonated two car bombs simultaneously, one inside a military camp in the city of Agadez and another in the remote town of Arlit at a French-operated uranium mine, killing 26 people and injuring 30, according to officials in Niger and France. Washington - Lois Lerner, the head of the Internal Revenue Service’s division on tax-exempt organizations, was put on administrative leave Thursday, a day after she invoked the Fifth Amendment and declined to testify before a House committee investigating her division’s targeting of conservative groups. Lawmakers from both parties said Thursday that senior I.R.S. officials had requested Ms. Lerner’s resignation but that she refused, forcing them to put her on leave instead. Whether her suspension will lead to dismissal was unclear, given Civil Service rules that govern federal employment.

Phoenix - Jurors who spent five months determining Jodi Arias´ fate couldn´t decide whether she should get life in prison or die for murdering her boyfriend, sending prosecutors back to the drawing board to rehash the shocking case of sex, lies and violence to another 12 people. Judge Sherry Stephens gave a heavy sigh as she announced a mistrial in the penalty phase of the case Thursday and scheduled a July 18 retrial. "This was not your typical trial," she told jurors. "You were asked to perform some very difficult duties." As the panel filed out of the courtroom,

Spanish engineers, who already spent some $680 million on designing the new generation S-80 class submarine, say it is a major “technical innovation.” There is just one problem the calculations show – if submerged into water, it may never come up again. The Spanish media has been furiously discussing the errors made by the state-owned Navantia construction company, which has spent about a third of the huge $2.2 billion budget only to produce an ‘overweight’ submarine that is not able to float. Spain’s Ministry of Defense has confirmed that Navantia detected “deviations”

“He was not radical at all,” Taramov told WESH-TV. He added that the FBI had been tracking Todashev since the Boston bombings. At some point, Todashev moved to Florida. He was arrested for aggravated battery this month, according to police records, after getting into a fight with a man in a parking lot. When the FBI agent and others arrived at his apartment early Wednesday, the law enforcement officials said Todashev initially was cooperative. They said he appeared on the verge of signing a confession to the killings of three people in Waltham in September 2011.

The public got its first look Thursday at Lois Lerner, who has gone from faceless IRS bureaucrat to the face that launched what feels like 1,000 congressional hearings and conspiracy theories. But it was only a brief sighting since she didn´t stay long at a House hearing to further probe her role in how some IRS workers came to target conservative groups seeking tax-exempt status. (Snip)She did make a short statement to declare her innocence, however. Lerner´s motivation was more transparent than much of what the IRS has done in connection with this controversy. When you get right down to it, the political targeting and stalling of tax-exempt applications by the IRS was an effort to defund the Tea Party. Rick Santelli, one of the Tea Party founders and my CNBC colleague, was the first to make this point. I’ve taken it a step further: The IRS was taking the Tea Party out of play for the 2012 election, as it looked to avoid a repeat of 2010 and another Tea Party landslide. There are a lot of numbers out there.

On “Fox News Sunday” last weekend, White House aide Dan Pfeiffer was asked about President Barack Obama’s whereabouts the night of the Sept. 11 attack in Benghazi. This was the night when we lost our first ambassador in 30 years, and when three other Americans were killed in an attack that lasted all night long at multiple locations within the eastern Libyan city. Since the president is commander in chief, one would think where he was and what he did during such an event would be of obvious public concern.
