| More congressional Republicans are breaking a long-standing pledge to oppose tax increases before returning to Washington on Monday to avert a looming fiscal crisis with a deal that increasingly appears impossible to reach without changes to the tax code. The decades-old pledge from the Americans for Tax Reform group has been signed by 238 House members and 41 senators in this Congress and has essentially become inescapable for any Republican seeking statewide or national office over recent election cycles, especially in the Republican-controlled lower chamber.

Comments: Is that the scent of "fear" imitating from Capitol Hill by our RINOs at losing their increased salaries, staff and perks to balance the budget or the "death" of the GOP as THEY know it. [More of the "et tu brute" speak out].

I am disgusted that Congress wastes so much money, yet is unwilling to make cuts in unnecessary programs. Stop taking from the productive members of society and focus on waste. Solyndra and the other solar scams come to mind. Instead of more and more Federal land grabs, reduce the grabs, sell off the land..we can´t afford to oversee it, and is a source of revenue. Drill and increase US revenue. Stop the insanity of overspending.

I´m still trying to figure out if Preezy Down Low has his own stash to spend or if the House really is funding all his exorbitant spending. When you´re adding hundreds of thousands to the disability program [after they´ve fallen off the unemployment program] doesn´t someone somewhere have to increase the budget?

Really, didn´t we all know in our hearts, that this republican party is just a weak imitation of the ubber leftist dem party? In essence, we have a one party system and the majority of people in this country (the ones who discovered they can vote to take away other people´s money)want it that way.

This will likely be the long needed fracturing of the Republican Party. The elites will try to move toward the Democrats and lose the true conservative wing of the party. This will actually preserve conservatism to be the fall back alternative when it all comes crashing down.
Liberalism has won both the fiscal and the cultural war. We now must wait for the inevitable fall that liberalism always brings. We will get the same result we received from the liberal war on out of wedlock births. The same we received on the liberal war on poor education. The same result we got from the war on poverty. The same result we got from the liberal definition of pornography.
It all will come tumbling down like Humpyy Dumpyy. And it may not be able to be put back together again.

To distinguish themselves from republican hacks, liberals in republican garb, and weak kneed weather vane watchers, Conservatives should simply vote, "present." Let Boehner and his drones posture and finally give in while liberals get their way and take the blame.

If they do this to protect their jobs from focused attack, then they are dead to me.

Wait till they´re replaced by Democrats in their formerly "safe" congressional districts. People generally figure that if they´re going to get someone who supports Democrat policies, they might as well vote for the real thing. Stupid b*st*rds.

We are at a state of polarization so deep that there is not a single issue where any Republican would advantage themselves by allowing a Democrat be elected to any office no matter how terrible a Republican candidate is. What´s the word for a Republican who allows a Democrat to win any election as a matter of principal? A loser.

The man, identified as Ibragim Todashev, was being interviewed by a special agent of the FBI "in connection with the Boston Marathon bombing investigation when a violent confrontation was initiated by the subject," the Bureau said in a statement. An 18-year-old Florida student’s senior year has become a nightmare — all because she was in a same-sex relationship with a 15-year-old, her family says. Kaitlyn Hunt was arrested Feb. 16 for having a physical relationship with a younger classmate, who was her girlfriend at the time, mom Kelley Hunt Smith wrote on Facebook. Under Florida law, Hunt could see up to 15 years in prison and must register as a sex offender. A plea deal, however, remains on the table that would give Hunt two years´ house arrest and one year of probation, her family said. “Does my daughter deserve to lose her life for

As the impasse over Tehran’s nuclear program worsens, those most likely to be directly affected by an Iranian bomb are showing greater alarm. While the media fixates on Israel and its possible reaction, other regional players have no less at stake. Despite Riyadh’s long-held advocacy of making the Middle East a zone free of weapons of mass destruction, there has been much speculation in the past few years about the possibility of its acquiring, or developing, nuclear weapons should Tehran obtain the bomb. In the words of Saudi King Abdullah: “If Iran developed nuclear weapons (...) everyone in the

Mohammad Heidari, accused of passing security-related in formation and secrets to Israeli Mossad agents in exchange for money, and Kourosh Ahmadi, accused of gathering information for the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency, were hanged at dawn, it said. The sentence for their execution was handed down by Tehran’s Revolutionary Court and confirmed by the country’s Supreme Court. The report did not say when the pair were arrested nor when their trial took place.

The Vatican has denied claims that Pope Francis performed an exorcism, after TV images showed a man apparently reacting to him putting his hands on his head. The encounter - during Sunday Mass - was shown on a TV channel owned by the Italian bishops´ conference. The station quoted exorcists as saying there was "no doubt" the Pope had either performed an exorcism or a prayer to free the man from the devil. Its director later apologised for "having altered the truth". The Pope´s spokesman said he "did not intend to perform any exorcism".

Mexico City - Guatemala’s highest court on Monday threw out the genocide conviction and prison sentence of the former dictator Gen. Efraín Ríos Montt. The decision by Guatemala’s Constitutional Court was a dramatic legal victory for General Ríos Montt, 86, and a blow to human rights advocates who had called his conviction a sign that Guatemala’s courts would no longer allow impunity for the country’s powerful. General Ríos Montt was sent to prison immediately after the verdict on May 10 when a three-panel tribunal found him guilty of genocide and crimes against humanity.

Monday the Department of Justice Inspector General [IG] confirmed what Townhall and other media outlets have been reporting for more than a year now: DOJ officials smeared Fast and Furious whistleblower and ATF Agent John Dodson. As a reminder, Dodson was the first whistleblower to expose Operation Fast and Furious. He revealed the operation´s connection to the murder of Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry on to CBS News reporter Sharyl Attkisson on March 3, 2011. The IG report confirms that former U.S. Attorney Dennis Burke, who has a long personal and professional relationship with

WASHINGTON – The Internal Revenue Serviced scandal today spread further within the White House and closer to President Obama. White House spokesman Jay Carney today disclosed that Obama’s chief of staff, Dennis McDonough, and other top White House officials had advance warning that the IRS was targeting conservative groups. But he insisted McDonough and the other White House officials purposely kept Obama out of the loop.McDonough “rightly chose not to take action” to inform Obama, Carney told reporters at the daily White House briefing.

The wheels came off the Obama administration yesterday. We learned of a startling assault on freedom of the press by the Department of Justice, following the revelation last week of the unprecedented information-gathering foray by that department against The Associated Press. Then, a few minutes later, the Justice Department’s inspector general released a report declaring that the US attorney in Arizona used the leak of a confidential memo to try to discredit a whistleblower in the notorious “gun-walking” scandal known as Fast and Furious (which got two federal agents killed). The leak was called “egregious.”

WASHINGTON – A top IRS official in the division that reviews nonprofit groups will invoke the Fifth Amendment and refuse to answer questions before a House committee investigating the agency’s improper screening of conservative nonprofit groups. Lois Lerner, the head of the exempt organizations division of the IRS, won’t answer questions about what she knew about the improper screening – or why she didn’t reveal it to Congress, according to a letter from her defense lawyer, William W. Taylor 3rd. Lerner was scheduled to appear before the House Oversight committee Wednesday.

Former Rep. I’m running for mayor because I’ve been fighting for the middle class and those struggling to make it for my entire life.

The dam protecting the IRS scandal began to crack today when Lois Lerner, the IRS official who announced, and apologized for, the improper singling out of conservative-leaning organizations by IRS employees under her command, announced through her criminal defense lawyer that she will not testify as scheduled tomorrow before the House Oversight Committee. Rather, she will assert her Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination. This marks an enormous milestone in the IRS investigation. It can now be taken as more or less established that crimes were committed by Obama administration employees. Lerner’s lawyer tried to minimize the significance

Former Democratic National committee chairman Howard Dean considers the controversy over Benghazi a “joke” and “silly.” “Benghazi is a laughable joke,” Dean proclaimed twice in a discussion with Republican National Committee communications chairman Sean Spicer last week. “With all due respect, governor, when four Americans die serving this country, that’s not a joke, sir,” Spicer responded. “Oh, stop it,” said Dean. The former Democratic presidential candidate also said that there were “no serious questions being asked about Benghazi” and brushed it off as an effort by Republicans to score political points.
