Post Finally Digs into
Growing Petraeus Scandal

Accuracy in Media, by Cliff Kincaid

The Washington Post has been greatly embarrassed by the fact that its local editor Vernon Loeb was the ghost writer for the David Petraeus biography by Paula Broadwell and admits he was “clueless” about their sexual relationship. The paper is now making up for lost time. On Thursday, the Post published an article that debunked claims by Petraeus, who was Obama’s CIA director, that he had never given Broadwell classified information. The story by Carol D. Leonnig, Sari Horwitz and Anne Gearan reveals that Petraeus aides and other high-ranking military officials were often tasked by Petraeus

Too bad their "embarrassment" prevented their looking into Benghazi properly before the election.

Is it a "Growing Petraeus Scandal"? I think it´s a Rapidly Disappearing Petraeus Story. Benghazi? Who ever heard of Benghazi!

Now it is safe for the post to take control of the tragedy/debacle of benghazi and steer it into the safe waters of soap-opera affairs.
Why the ambassador was repeatedly stripped of security, ordered into al qaeda controlled area, and watched, over a nine hour period, be slaughtered, will never be addressed.
And that is exactly what dumb-as-mud voters deserve and will get from now on.
The voters have said what they will tolerate and it is a combination of the old USSR and Nazi Germany.

Obama War Room: Dodge City

OBAMA: Benghazi Petraeus Benghazi Petraeus. Will it ever stop? Tell me again why I wanted another term.
JOE BIDEN: You gotta finish the job makin´ everybody in America equally miserable, Boss.
OBAMA: Jay, how many news conferences have I held since January 2009?
CARNEY: Um, maybe twelve, sir.
OBAMA: Ok. Inform the networks to start reruns next week. Prime time. One every two months until they run out. Gives me a two year breather.
BIDEN: Smart, Chief. Questions are always the same and so are your nothingburger answers. Nobody´ll notice. Meanwhile, you´ll appear engaged.
CARNEY: Along the same lines, sir, my Q and A tussles with reporters are getting to me. From now on, at noon, I´ll make a five minute statement in the press room. It´ll list on the schedule as my daily uh, brief.
DAVID AXELROD: Benghazi, double-dip recession, tax hikes, increasing unemployment, ObamaCare horror stories--sir, maybe you´d better get out of town until it all blows over or people accept things as the new normal.
OBAMA: Going abroad through 2016? I can´t. . . .
DAVID PLOUFFE: You must, sir, if you want a third term. Remember, you can´t be criticized when you´re on foreign soil.
VALERIE JARRETT: You´ve done more damage to the country in one term than you ever dreamed possible, Barack. Take a break, wind down. We can manage the decline until you get back.
OBAMA: Well, I could do a global golf goodwill tour, set a goal to play in every country in the world with a golf course. That should take about four years and give the lie to people who say I have no agenda.

First leg of the world goodwill golf tour is already underway, #4. Biden said he already has his vacay itinerary planned for the second term--first stop: Ireland. Biden noted that O wants to accompany him to golf there.

So, to cover their embarrassment as being exposed for lies of omission and the supposed ´discovery´ of their ghost writer, the editors at WaPo go after Petreaus in an attempt to make him the only bad guy here.
.... Yes, of course. It´s more of that ´finger pointing´ thing practiced in Marxism.

Why is no one asking the primary question and that is why was our Ambassador in Benghazi without proper security in place on September 11th when it was known to be a hotbed of terrorist activity. Unfortunately, the truth will never see the light of day because it leads right up to the Oval Office and the media will never let a scintilla of scandal touch the first black President. The corruption of this country runs deep and I fear some of our "leaders" are guilty as well. DC is a cesspool that good hardworking Americans don´t deserve. Our politicians have failed to uphold their oath of office and it is time to do something about it. America needs men and women of honor and character to stand up and be counted on this matter regardless of the consequences. It is probably too much to hope for because they would have to actually do what is right when they are more concerned with protecting their power, money, pension and perks that go along with their job.

The Post had a front row seat to the scandal and still side stepped it, though as far as the election timing goes, Obama´s supporters would not have cared one whit.

What is being revealed is the serious issue of Petraeus giving Broadwell classified documents. No wonder he has lawyered up fast. His sins are beyond sex, and he is in deep doo doo.

Reply 17 - Posted by: EnsignO´Toole, 11/25/2012 9:44:12 AM     (No. 9032899)

I think #4 has a bug planted somewhere or maybe he has a WH Insider? I also agree with #9 that laughing makes the sad reality more bearable.

House Republicans should be focused like a lazer beam on one thing for the next four years until the truth finally comes out - Benghazi, Benghazi, Benghazi.

If military aides to Petraeous helped in giving Broadwell sensitive documents, then they should be hauled before Congress. The same for anyone around General Allen and Jill Kelley. Republicans have to say "enough is enough". America needs to see and hear the same kind of attention the Pubbies paid to Nixon and Watergate (where no one died when he lied). If Republicans can bring down a President from their own party, they surely can find the intestinal fortitude (aka balls) to at least tie the hands of a fraudulently-elected Democrat President!

Reply 19 - Posted by: earlybird, 11/25/2012 9:49:54 AM     (No. 9032906)

The Post was derelict in not getting at this story earlier. Their audience is not just us. Now more of the public will know. They will know what Petraeus did. They will know what the Obama administration did to cover it up.

And they will also know that the campaign to make Jill Kelley look bad (including that farce about her FBI friend´s shirtless photo) was to detract from what she did to begin the unraveling of this sorry tale.

Jill Kelley told her FBI friend (described in this article as "the FBI whistleblower), who had a stellar record with the agency, and he told superiors who initiated the investigation. When he saw the investigation going nowhere, he got word to Eric Cantor via an aide.

Because she is a flashy dresser, a Lebanese (OMG - no one noticed she is a Maronite Catholic Leganese), pushy, not subtle enough for most tastes, self-promoting, many did just what they were supposed to do and joined in trashing her. The Obama media´s campaign against her worked.

Hopefully that campaign will not keep the whistleblower FBI agent´s integrity intact (he has accumulated a lot of fine achievements in his career, of which this is another) and the investigation will be ongoing.

Obie was elected. But other presidents have not finished their second terms.

To be considered:

The Washington Post was the patron of Saul Alinsky and has always supported traitors to the US Constitution, hence can be counted on for cover for all indiscretions or illegalities on the Left....of course they provide cover for a communist president and Woodward will too, as his interest in taking down Nixon was political ---not righteous.

Benghazi and the Mexican border were both different versions of the same illegal, unconstitutional, scheme...a Fast and Furious...direct commerce...direct, illegal commerce...of gun running and Missile Running...

Lockheed is up to their eyes in the illegalities of missile running to Al Qaeda....in cahoots with Obama...

Ambassador Stevens, an Islamist gay man was central to the scheme....and had met secretly with Senator Inhofe a couple weeks previous to his death.

Arming our enemies? Exactly for what purpose???

Panetta is about to dismiss many high level military so as to complete the transformation without fear of a military coup....Put communists in charge and fulfill expectations...

About the millions of large caliber, hollow point ammo....

Security along the U.S. border with Mexico is perhaps the key factor in the debate over comprehensive immigration reform. Those who believe the border is mostly secure already are more inclined to support the plan of the bipartisan Gang of Eight in the Senate -- legalization first, followed by enhanced security. Those who believe the border is still far from secure are more likely to oppose the Gang of Eight´s approach, insisting that heightened security measures be in place before the nation´s estimated 11 million illegal immigrants are legalized. There was a running joke in the fall of 2008 that John McCain should simply re-air Hillary Clinton’s “3 a.m. phone call” ad, which highlighted Barack Obama’s lack of experience and meager knowledge of world affairs, and just tack on “I’m John McCain, and I approve this message” at the end of the ad. The point was that thanks to the bitter primary battle between the Clintons and Obama, Democrats had already developed the most effective lines of attack against Obama, and Republicans needed only to nod their heads in agreement. The officials spoke to CBS News in a series of interviews and communications under the condition of anonymity so that they could be more frank in their assessments. They do not all agree on the list of mistakes and it's important to note that they universally claim that any errors or missteps did not cost lives and reflect "incompetence rather than malice or cover up.

In the wake of one of the worst abuses of government power in recent history, many are rushing to frame the Internal Revenue Service scandal as simply an attack on conservative activists. That view risks creating a partisan political football and misses a fundamentally scarier abuse that exceeds the scandals of Watergate or any other prior government abuse. The IRS has admitted that since May 2010 it targeted grassroots-conservative organizations that had applied for tax-exempt status, unfairly subjecting them to rigorous scrutiny due to their political leanings. Such groups were told they were required to comply with IRS requests,

House Oversight Committee Chairman Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) formally demanded that retired ambassador Thomas Pickering submit to being deposed by the committee next Thursday. The subpoena comes in the wake of a series of acrimonious public exchanges this week between the two men.
