Prince Charles: ´I´m running out of time´
The Telegraph (UK), by Roya Nikkhah

Original Article

Posted By:zephyrgirl, 11/24/2012 8:44:50 PM

In a series of remarkably candid comments, Prince Charles hinted that he feared his legacy as king would be cut short. During a visit to Dumfries House, the stately home in East Ayrshire which the Prince helped save for the nation, he joked about his reputation for pursuing projects with notorious vigour but made a poignant reference to his mortality. He said: “Impatient? Me? What a thing to suggest! Yes of course I am.” He added: “I’ll run out of time soon. I shall have snuffed it if I’m not careful.”

Comments:
Long live Queen Elizabeth II. There´s no way I want this twit on the throne.

Any country that has a monarchy, such as the UK, is not truly democratic. Somebody shouldn´t become head of state by virtue of his or her birth; it´s antithetical to democracy.

He is saying he wants his mother to hurry up and die. His guy has been a dufus his entire life. He wished he was a tampon and talked to plants. And what happens when he become king of England. Zilch. He gets dresdup and show up at ceremonies, a totally meaningless stooge, a totally meaningless life. Royalty is a symbol of what? How would you like to be a symbol. Being a bus driver mpacts more people than being king of England.

It must be a horrible to be a serious minded, mature man (however daft he may seem to the rest of us) to have as his life´s career the task of waiting for his mother to die. And given the life span of the Windsor women, he might have to wait until late in his life to ascend to the throne. The thing for Charles to do is to abdicate, and turn the succession over to his son. Then he will be set free to pursue every eccentric, wacky idea to his heart´s content. Give up your claim to the Throne, Charles. You´ll be happier for it.

As if William and Harry have conservative values? Uh, wake up everyone. These two have the same lefty, green "values" as both of their parents. England´s growing Muslim political power will greatly change things for the next generation of Royal reign.

If you are a member of the 53% of the US population who actually pays income taxes, due today without a penalty, perhaps this chart from the Internal Revenue Service and analyzed by Mark J. Perry of AEIdeas will make you feel better. Or not. IRS data: The top 1% pay 37% of all taxes, the bottom half pay 2%, a blubbering David Letterman can’t believe the facts. IRS data for 2009 (most recent year available) are displayed above and show that the top 1% of US taxpayers (about 819,000 filers) paid 37% of all federal income taxes collected, the

If lawmakers in Springfield thought they maneuvered beyond the treacherous topic of pension reform with their December votes to begin rescuing the state´s floundering pension system, they thought wrong. Chicago, with its enormously underfunded pension plans, is next in line. Three years into his mayoral term — after campaigning on a promise to fix pensions — Rahm Emanuel finally is ready to file legislation that would reduce the city´s dangerously unfunded pension liabilities for municipal workers and laborers. Emanuel says he has a deal with those employees´ unions that would bring two of the city´s four funds for retirees closer

Denver - Denver is submitting its bid today to host the Republican National Convention in 2016. Denver hosted the Democratic National Convention in 2008 and the first presidential debate during the 2012 race. Colorado Republican party chairman Ryan Call told 7NEWS Friday that the key downtown venues were at the center of a plan to bring the 2016 RNC to Denver. Call says under the proposal, the Pepsi Center will serve as the principal event site -- hosting key speeches and the nominating process. He adds that Coors Field is the proposed site for a welcome reception. The Colorado Convention Center would also serve as

Election Day is almost nine months off. But right now Republicans seem almost certain to hold the House of Representatives and are likely to take the Senate. Which raises the inevitable question: How might the GOP seize defeat from the jaws of victory? Two occasions stand out, two obvious obstacles ahead that could lead to disastrous Republican stumbles, two pitfalls on the path to a happy GOP Election Day. Republicans are pretty good at falling into such pits. One is the increase in the debt limit, which Congress will have to deal with in the next month or two. The other

The left thinks everyone who opposes gay marriage is some bigot like Phil Robertson. That intolerance could come back to sting Democrats in November. Until very recently I had no idea who or what Duck Dynasty was. But now I, along with the rest of the English-speaking world, know far more about Duck Dynasty than I care to. But I am preparing myself for the reality that I will be hearing those two words endlessly over the course of the next year. Because unlike many media scandals that come and go after a 24 hour news cycle, I believe the Duck Dynasty controversy will have legs. Not only will the controversy linger, it might reignite the culture war that has traditionally hurt Democrats, especially

Amendment 66, education tax has failed

DENVER - Amendment 66, the K-12 education funding measure, has failed in Colorado. Even in Democratic strongholds of Boulder and Denver counties, the measure was failing or barely even. Amendment 66 constitutionally and statutorily would alter Colorado law to change how the state funds education. Firstly, it raises the state individual income tax rate from 4.63 percent to 5 percent on the first $75,000 of taxable income. That is equivalent to $472.5 if you earn exactly $75,000 in taxable income per year. If you earn more, any income beyond the $75,000 is taxed at a rate of 5.9 percent.

President Obama addressed the White House press corps today, announcing that with the final numbers in, Obamacare´s exchanges have attracted eight million sign-ups -- 35 percent of whom are "under the age of 35," he said. Several elements of his comments were misleading: (1) At first blush, the 35 percent stat is both significant and impressive. As recently as last month, the share of "young invincibles" signing up for plans was struggling in the 25 percent range, far short of the actuarial target of nearly 40 percent. A leap into the mid-30´s, while still shy of the goal, would constitute a major step, and would bode well for the risk pools'

When it comes to tracking the cost of Obama family vacations, there are two primary challenges. First, the Obamas are prolific jet-setters, so there are many details to track. Second, the Obama administration, clearly embarrassed by these lavish and frequent family vacations, stonewalls the release of records at every turn. But we have been relentless in pursuit of this information. Our attorneys file the lawsuits and make our case, and our investigators pour through pages of records and crunch the numbers. And the information we’ve uncovered – information that would otherwise remain under lock and key – shows that the

He hasn’t paid grazing fees since 1993, and refuses to renew the necessary grazing permit.(Snip)Rather than using the avenues and pathways presented to him, Bundy has staunchly declared his own law and allegiances. Imagine a vendor on the National Mall, selling burgers and dogs, who hasn’t paid his rent in 20 years. He refuses to recognize his landlord, the National Park Service, as a legitimate authority. Every court has ruled against him, and fines have piled up. What’s more, the effluents from his food cart are having a detrimental effect on the spring grass in the capital. Would an armed posse come to his defense, aiming their guns at the park police? Would the lawbreaker get prime airtime on Fox News, breathless updates in the Drudge Report, a sympathetic ear from Tea Party Republicans?
