McCarthyism: WaPo Accuses
GOP of Racism to Defend Rice

When I first saw the headline, "The GOP’s bizarre attack on Susan Rice," I assumed the link would take me to one of the many left-wing columnists employed by the Post. Nope. This is a full-blown Washington Post editorial (and a despicable piece of McCarthyist race-baiting) -- the kind you would never expect from the same outlet that so doggedly pursued the Nixon administration´s Watergate cover up: Drawn up by Rep. Jeff Duncan (R-S.C.), the letter [from 97 House Republicans challenging any potential nomination of Susan Rice to Secretary of State] alleges that “Ambassador Rice is widely viewed

Comments:
This obfuscation of the facts that we see Rice other than dangerous twit is tedious. Let her get nominated and then find out what she knew about Benghazi, and when. Then stop her rise to more power.

The bizarre thing is the shameless attempt to deflect legitimate criticism of a public official who provided misleading information to the public. Nothing is beneath Leftist partisans: character assassination, spurious charges of racism, sexism, anything that might serve to obscure the real issue, which is why Susan Rice repeatedly misinformed the American people about Benghazi. And not only Susan Rice. President Obama and Hillary Clinton immediately began proclaiming that the attacks were unorganized spontaneous responses to an anti-Islam apology for which they apologized repeatedly. They did not advance these claims as hypothetical or tentative. They asserted them confidently and dogmatically within hours of the attacks, quite possibly while the Benghazi attack was still under way.

This administration and its media apologists are good examples of bad examples. They never fail to amaze. Sometimes one wonders how they are able to keep a straight face with their lies and incredible excuses and evasions.

These are the people the American voters in their wisdom have seen fit to return to power for another four years. It is said that one cannot fix stupid, but that is only occasionally so. After a few more years of Obama some of the less stupid in the electorate and the media will be begging for a change of administration. Too bad they have to learn what is obvious to the rest of us the hard way. Too bad we have to suffer the consequences of their folly along with them. But I have hopes that enough of them will finally learn to ensure a better choice in 2016 - assuming something that is being kept hidden about Obama does not come to light before then and shorten his presidency.

If the GOP would fight for their beliefs as hard as the Dems do they might garner a little more respect from the general public. Even when the Dems are caught lying they fight to the death defending themselves, unlike the GOP, who fold at the slightest hint of embarrassment.

When a black liar cannot be defended with facts then claim racism. It seems to happen all the time with this administration. Is there anyone in this administration from the president down that doesn´t lie???

Well there is the vice president ... no one says it´s racism when he is criticized for being stupid.

I don´t know whether the country can afford both a president and a secretary of state who are both too delicate to be questioned. Meanwhile they sling drones this way and that, try to distract us from asking questions about the disgraceful death of our ambassador consequent on their mistakes by blaming us and calling us names (an abuser´s tactic btw, which no one has mentioned). They can´t take it apparently but they can sure dish it out.

Because of overuse and misuse, the terms, racism and racist are now like wet cardboard boxes. Smarter leftist hipsters have come up with the new label, "haters" to replace the R words. But that doesn´t stop dullards in the news business from continuing to use the old toothless slanders out of pure habit.

Maybe it´s time to coin some terms of our own like, conservative competency, conservative honesty, conservative patriotism. Then start labeling lies, incompetence, lack of values, and anti Americanism as generic liberalism.

By the way, "Black Friday" is racist.
There is an implication that getting stuff cheap is black.
But these are liberals we are describing here.
For a liberal, the best defense is to throw mud.
So the mud-slinging continues.
What we really need here is for the Zero administration to take a hint from Morsi and declare the entire administration off-limits from any criticism whatever.

There.

Done.

Washington - A federal appeals court on Tuesday upheld the Environmental Protection Agency’s emission standards for hazardous air pollutants from coal- and oil-fired power plants. In its ruling, the court rejected state and industry challenges to rules designed to clean up mercury, lead, arsenic and other dangerous air pollutants. The new regulations were designed to remove toxins from the air that contribute to respiratory illnesses, birth defects and developmental problems in children. Some industry groups have criticized the standards, saying the EPA was overstating the benefits. Industry groups argued it would cost billions of

You don´t have to go to the Griffith Observatory or other prime watching spot to view the first total lunar eclipse of 2014. Numerous "blood moon" video streams are available on the Web. The Griffith Observatory will be streaming the event live from the Zeiss dome beginning at 9:45 p.m. The Slooh Observatory in the Canary Islands will also be doing a live stream. NASA is also planning a live stream, with experts taking questions from viewers. For those who want to take in the event in person, Griffith Observatory decided to open its doors Monday (it´s usually closed). "We are expecting large crowds," the observatory said in a statement.

Chelsea Clinton says in a new interview that she´s open to a run for a multitude of offices, from mayor of New York to the U.S. Senate. "I live in a city and a state and a country where I support my elected representatives," Clinton told Fast Company. "If at some point that weren´t the case, and I didn´t support my mayor or my city councilwoman or my congresswoman or either of my senators -- and I'm lucky to live in a state where I have lots of women representing me, you know -- maybe then I'd have to ask and answer the question for myself, and come to a different answer." The answer is pretty similar to a response Clinton, 34,

Even as the cost of prescription drugs has plummeted for many Americans, a small slice of the population is being asked to shoulder more and more of the cost of expensive treatments for diseases like cancer and hepatitis C, according to a report to be released on Tuesday by a major drug research firm. The findings echo the conclusions of two other reports released last week by major pharmacy benefit managers, which predicted that spending on so-called specialty drugs would continue to rise. The report, by the IMS Institute for Healthcare Informatics, also found that consumers’ use of health care — visits to the doctor,

One dumb teenager is easily excused — but the host of Twitter users currently tweeting bomb threats at major airlines is another story entirely. In case you’ve somehow missed this latest round of Internet idiocy, here’s what went down: Sunday night, a Dutch teenager identified only as “Sarah” infamously tweeted a threat at American Airlines. (“hello my name’s Ibrahim and I’m from Afghanistan. I’m part of Al Qaida and on June 1st I’m gonna do something really big bye,” she wrote. Hilarious!) She then promptly made the account private and insisted it was all a joke — “I’m so stupid, I’m scared,” she wrote at one point —

Guantanamo Bay Navy Base, Cuba - A military judge abruptly recessed the first 9/11 trial hearing of the year Monday after defense lawyers accused the FBI in open court of trying to turn a defense team security officer into a secret informant. If true, the lawyers argued, attorney-client confidentiality might be compromised in the case that seeks to put on trial and execute five men accused of orchestrating the Sept. 11 attacks that killed 3,000 people in New York, Pennsylvania and at the Pentagon. At issue, in part, was the publication in January of prison camp musings by the alleged 9/11 mastermind, Khalid Sheik Mohammed,

Abuja, Nigeria - Bomb blasts ripped through a bus station in the suburbs of the Nigerian capital today in the largest single attack on Abuja since insurgents began violent operations in 2009. Authorities say 71 people were killed and 124 were injured in a strike on Nyanya Motor Park, a chaotic bus station where commuters board megabuses into the pristine city center for work less than 10 miles away. The blasts in Nigeria´s capital are a direct challenge to the government´s recent assurances that it has managed to contain Boko Haram, Nigeria's militant Islamist group, to the remote northeast of the country. The last attack in Abuja was two years

Neurosurgeon Ben Carson says the White House wanted him to apologize for “offending” President Obama after he famously delivered a conservative message at the National Prayer Breakfast last year. Carson, the former director of pediatric neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital, recalls the events surrounding his 2013 speech in his new book, One Nation: What We Can All Do To Save America’s Future. The Daily Caller obtained an advance copy of the book, which is set for release May 20. “He did not appear to be hostile or angry,” Carson writes of Obama, “but within a matter of minutes after the conclusion of

President Obama inspired a generation of young people to support his historic election in 2008. And in 2012, despite the struggles of his first term, Mr. Obama still managed to win the support of a full 60% of voters age 18-29. But the man who once dreamed of being a transformative leader in the Reagan mold is inspiring few of those young people to follow his lead. "For all the talk about the movement that elected Mr. Obama, the more notable movement of Obama supporters has been away from politics. It appears that few of the young people who voted

On Saturday, I wrote about the standoff at Bundy Ranch. That post drew a remarkable amount of traffic, even though, as I wrote then, I had not quite decided what to make of the story. Since then, I have continued to study the facts and have drawn some conclusions. Here they are. First, it must be admitted that legally, Bundy doesn’t have a leg to stand on. The Bureau of Land Management has been charging him grazing fees since the early 1990s, which he has refused to pay. Further, BLM has issued orders limiting the area on which Bundy’s cows can

Chelsea Clinton says when people ask her these days whether she wants to go into politics, her answer isn’t an automatic “no.” The 34-year-old former first daughter told Fast Company in an interview published Monday, “for so long the answer was just a visceral no. Not because I had made any conscientious, deliberate decision, but since people had been asking for as long as literally I could remember, it was no." Although the Civil Rights Act, the landmark legislation which just reached its 50th anniversary, made great strides in desegregating the economy, economic discrimination is still widespread, and anti-discrimination legislation alone can never rectify the economic damage inflicted upon blacks by slavery and our Jim Crow apartheid regime. The Civil Rights Act was a mild reform, all things considered, but one conservatives fought with vigor and one many conservatives are still bitter about to this day. When the Civil Rights Act passed in 1964, the primary purpose was to root out discrimination in public accommodations (like hotels and movie theaters)

Sheryl Sandberg about her second book in the Lean In series Lean In: For Graduates was a head shaker. Amazing that she of all people allowed Sandberg to restring the same old, same old, shamed, and shopworn feminist myths about women and girls and then jangle it in front of her viewing audience like something new out of the box. Indeed Kelly all but genuflected in front of this woman. Kept her on thru

Western Washington University sent a questionnaire to students asking them for advice on how the administration could succeed at making sure that in future years, “we are not as white as we are today.” The question notes that WWU’s racial make up does not perfectly reflect the nation at large, and asks students to consider strategies that other universities have used to focus on skin color as the paramount indicator of a student-applicant’s worth. The president of WWU has stated that his explicit goal is to reduce the white population on campus, according to Campus Reform. “I’ve said before and I’ll say it
