| President Mohammed Mursi has appeared before supporters in Cairo to defend a new decree that grants him sweeping new powers. He told them he was leading Egypt on a path to "freedom and democracy´" and was the guardian of stability. He was speaking as thousands of opponents gathered in Cairo´s Tahrir Square and offices of the president´s party were attacked in several cities. The decree says presidential decisions cannot be revoked by any authority. ´Mursi is Mubarak´ Speaking at a rally at the presidential palace in Cairo, Mr Mursi said he was working to secure a strong and stable nation

The goal of the Islamic Brotherhood is to impose Sharia law in the Middle East. Sharia is nothing but another form of totalitarianism (like communism and fascism). Totalitarian governments need a dictator to function properly. Looks like Mursi has named himself their ´fuhrer.´ The Egyptians elected him, and they deserve what they get. Same is true of the Americans who voted for Obama.

Latest - 10.33 (04.33) This from the New York Times: When the tornado sirens went off around 2.15pm, the staff of the AgapeLand Learning Centre, a day care facility, moved 15 children into two bathrooms, draping them with a protective covering and singing songs with them to keep them calm. As the wind ripped off the roof of one of the bathrooms, they all sang "You Are My Sunshine" to remain calm. Their headline wasn´t "Obama Team Also Spied on Fox News." Fox wasn´t in the headline, on A-1 or on A-12, where the story continued. The wheels came off the Obama administration yesterday. We learned of a startling assault on freedom of the press by the Department of Justice, following the revelation last week of the unprecedented information-gathering foray by that department against The Associated Press. Then, a few minutes later, the Justice Department’s inspector general released a report declaring that the US attorney in Arizona used the leak of a confidential memo to try to discredit a whistleblower in the notorious “gun-walking” scandal known as Fast and Furious (which got two federal agents killed). The leak was called “egregious.”

WASHINGTON – A top IRS official in the division that reviews nonprofit groups will invoke the Fifth Amendment and refuse to answer questions before a House committee investigating the agency’s improper screening of conservative nonprofit groups. Lois Lerner, the head of the exempt organizations division of the IRS, won’t answer questions about what she knew about the improper screening – or why she didn’t reveal it to Congress, according to a letter from her defense lawyer, William W. Taylor 3rd. Lerner was scheduled to appear before the House Oversight committee Wednesday.

Stuart Varney said this morning on "Varney & Co." that one of his producers was given a questionnaire with some surprisingly intrusive questions on it when he switched doctors. One of the questions was whether he/she was concerned about unsecured weapons in the home. Another asked whether he/she was "in a relationship in which you have been physically hurt or are you afraid of your partner?" Judge Andrew Napolitano explained that the question about guns comes out of a post-Sandy Hook executive order by President Obama, but it will be required under Obamacare. Varney expressed amazement
