| A federal investigation of how David H. Petraeus’s biographer obtained numerous classified records is focusing on whether the retired general’s staff gave her sensitive documents at his instruction, according to federal officials familiar with the inquiry. Petraeus aides and other high-ranking military officials were often tasked by Petraeus and other top commanders to provide military records and other documents to Paula Broadwell for her work as Petraeus’s biographer, former staff members and other officials told The Washington Post. Broadwell, a married Army reservist,

It´s obvious that 0bama wants to pin Benghazigate on Petreaus. But, it is also starting to look like they are setting him up to be the villain for all administration leaks.

This woman was so ballsy, it wouldn´t surprise me if she just walked in and demanded the documents. As an intelligence officer, she had security clearance to view them. She just wasn´t supposed to take them away in any form. (Maybe Carol missed the report about her security clearance?)

Brings back memories: could the military have changed that much since I was in the Navy 40-odd years ago?
Back then each classified pub was clearly marked as such and had it´s own ID number; it was stored in a special security file cabinet/safe, and anyone with both the clearance and need-to-know had to sign them out and get a receipt when they returned them. If a document was overdue or missing, we knew who had signed it out. Xerox copiers were not common then.
Pubs were periodically inventoried by 2 officers together, who had to certify the results of their survey. Once (when I was in charge of secured pubs) I did have problems with my commanding officer, who refused to sign for anything, because back then losing a firearm or a classified document was career-ending; his solution to avoiding that pitfall was to not sign them out. I had to spend a lot of idle time in his office while he read documents... seemed stupid then and still does, but I wasn´t going to stake my own commission on whether or not he misplaced a pub (he was a jerk, to put it kindly).

To me,this all looks ike an accumulation of blackmail pressure to keep Broadwell from singing like a canary on how corrupt Obama´s foreign policy is. Of course if they had their dreathers, she´d drown accidentally while swimming in the Potomac River at 1 am.
As i said before I don´t approve of some of Broadwell´s behavior but until there´s signs she´s a traitor or sold info to foreign agents,I´m giving her the benefit of the doubt. I think she´s a very patriotic American as of right now.
The big effort to discredit her has to do with her saying the CIA had a secret overseas prison, something the left railed against Bush for years. On top of that Obama signed an exe. ordering banning them, This would be huge hypocrisy on the left if her assertions are true and guess what,I believe her.

Having a security clearance is not enough to get access. You are also required to have a ´need to know.´
I worked in a facility where we had 150 documents that had to be inventoried twice each day. And we changed the safe combinations at least once each month.

I tend to agree w/ #5. I think Paula may have been "bi-partisan" (military people try to be because they frequently have to take orders from whatever civilians are voted in to the top offices) enough to not believe that the Obama administration might be malevolent enough to use her as a scapegoat for any number of things. She may have known about Kelley´s connections to the Islamists and in an attempt to protect Petraeus and the military, tried to warn Kelley to keep away. I think her efforts were inept and the administration is willing to not "let a crisis go to waste, using her to misdirect the press away from the truth of Benghazi. Just as they let the apparently very competent FBI agent be portrayed as lusting after Kelley, characterizing what was obviously a joke photo as a "naked photo" (a la Anthony Weiner), they have portrayed Broadwell as just one rabbit away from a "Fatal Attraction" moment. They are also portraying Jill Kelley as an airhead, when she is smart enough to have been in medical school at one point. Any financial professional can probably tell you that many doctors are not very good at managing all the money they make and in downturns (especially in real esate) are very likely to be among those needing the bankruptcy courts. This is apparently what has happened to Kelley´s husband, the surgeon.

Now I can rest - the story is complete and the movie will come out soon. First Gloria Allred came to advocate for Jill Kelley´s sister, Natalie K(not a Kardashian). Now we learn that Dee Dee Myers (Clinton´s first Press Secretary) is Paula Broadwell´s "spokeswoman".
Ah yes, the intrigue is now complete. These last few years are just a trashy fiction novelette (a novel that is regarded as being slight, trivial, or sentimental). Lord, don´t I wish! At least one can throw a trashy novelette in the garbage - if only we could do the same thing with anything and everything Obama!

MSNBC´s number-one Obama fanboy, Chris Matthews, was obviously disappointed with President Obama´s letdown of a speech in Germany Tuesday. Rather than place the blame where it belonged -- on the empty rhetoric, hypocritical platitudes, and crowd 95% smaller than the one Obama captured in ´08 as a presidential candidate -- Matthews blamed it on the sun blotting out Obama´s teleprompter:

The FBI uses drones for domestic surveillance purposes, the head of the agency told Congress early Wednesday. Robert Mueller, the director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, confirmed to lawmakers that the FBI owns several unmanned aerial vehicles, but has not adopted any strict policies or guidelines yet to govern the use of the controversial aircraft. “Does the FBI use drones for surveillance on US soil?” Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) asked Mr. Mueller during an oversight hearing on Capitol Hill Wednesday before the Senate Judiciary Committee. “Yes,” Mueller responded bluntly, adding that the FBI’s operation of drones is “very seldom.”

Distilled to a slogan, politics of late goes something like this: “I’m more fertile than you are.” It seems fecundity is emerging as the best argument for public office, policy or even citizenship. What was once an unconscious appraisal — Is this person strong, healthy and vital? — has morphed into the sort of explicit review one usually associates with an X rating. While male politicians have always strutted their stuff as a demonstration of virility and strength, most women until recently have had no such comparable public measures.

It would make things so much easier for everyone if Edward Snowden were working for China. And that’s certainly a possibility. His decision to flee to Hong Kong — a Chinese vassal — was an odd one, given that China is hardly a bulwark of transparency and civil rights. It’s a bit like complaining that Boston is too Catholic and then moving to Vatican City in protest. hen there’s the nature of the crime itself. Informed sources I’ve spoken with are generally aghast at what they say is the scope of information

Two top officials at the State Department´s Diplomatic Security Service (DS) -- the federal law enforcement agency that protects American diplomats and investigates allegations of criminal misconduct by State Department employees -- gave sworn testimony earlier this year that appears to be evasive at best, and untrue at worst, according to evidence obtained by Fox News. The officials are Scott Bultrowicz, who until Feb. 1 served as director of DS, and Tracy H. Mahaffey, who remains the executive director of DS. In videotaped depositions conducted this past February,

Jimmy Hoffa´s disappearance almost 40 years ago has been the stuff of urban legend, prompting numerous theories about what happened to the former Teamsters leader. The FBI saw enough merit in a reputed Mafia captain´s tip to once again this week break out the digging equipment to search for the remains in an Oakland Township field, about 25 miles north of Detroit. The feisty Hoffa was last seen about 20 miles away on July 30, 1975, outside a restaurant where he was supposed to meet with a New Jersey Teamsters boss and a Detroit Mafia captain.

WASHINGTON — House Republicans on Tuesday make their most concerted effort of the year to change federal abortion law with legislation that would ban almost all abortions after a fetus reaches the age of 20 weeks. The "Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act," expected to pass by a comfortable margin late Tuesday, would be a direct challenge to the 1973 Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision that legalized abortions up to the time a fetus becomes viable. Fetal viability is generally considered to be at least 24 weeks into the pregnancy.

A group of whistleblowers, including a number of aviation experts, have come forward in a new documentary to claim that the official explanation for the crash of TWA Flight 800 was wrong and a gas tank explosion did not bring down the flight off the coast of Long Island 17 years ago. However, the six whistleblowers, all part of the original investigation team, stopped short of saying the plane was shot down. Flight 800, a Boeing 747, had just taken off from JFK airport with 230 people aboard on July 17, 1996 enroute to Paris when it exploded

An attorney whose firm represents two Benghazi whistleblowers said Gen. Martin Dempsey, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, lied to the Senate when he said there was never a “stand down” order during the Benghazi attack on Sept. 11, 2012. “What was fascinating is that he explained his lie to them,” Joe DiGenova, an attorney representing one of the whistleblowers, told CNSNews.com. “He actually said they were sent to Tripoli. They were needed in Benghazi,” said DiGenova, a former U.S. attorney, now with the Washington firm of DiGenova & Toensing.

Amid a steady rise of backlash, Edward Snowden, the 29-year-old former National Security Agency contractor who was the source of a spring of leaks about the agency´s surveillance methods, conducted a live chat on The Guardian´s website Monday morning. Judging from some of the pointed questions he´s been asked and the reaction to newly leaked revelations over the past few days, it´s clear that much of the sympathy and support Snowden had built up for his early exposures is eroding. Many Americans supported his decision to leak information about a pair of National Security Agency surveillance programs, which, he detailed, gathered information

Likening religious schools to segregation--a racist system that forced blacks to attend different schools and use different facilities than whites in the American South--President Barack Obama told a town hall meeting for youth in Belfast, Northern Ireland on Monday that there should not be Catholic and Protestant schools because such schools cause division. "Because issues like segregated schools and housing, lack of jobs and opportunity--symbols of history that are a source of pride for some and pain for others--these are not tangential to peace; they’re essential to it,"

Listening to Barack Obama give his speech in Belfast on Monday, it was hard not to stifle a yawn. I kept waiting for the part when he would say something interesting, but, about three quarters of the way through, realised it wasn’t going to come. Judging from television pictures some of his young audience felt the same, after the initial rush of euphoria of receiving the rock star president in their midst had passed. This is not surprising, for we had already heard this number about the inspirational role of the Northern Ireland peace process and the Emerald Isle’s

Charlie Rose last night asked President Obama his new Syria policy. The president first objected to it being called a new policy. "I´m not sure you can characterize this as a new policy. This is consistent with the policy that I´ve had throughout," he said. Obama then explained the goal is regional stability, and especially in Syria. "Really, what we´re trying to do is take sides against extremists of all sorts and in favor of people who are in favor of moderation, tolerance, representative government, and over the long-term, stability and prosperity for the people of Syria," said Obama.

Marco Rubio. Paul Ryan. The IRS. Illegal immigration. And fraud to the tune of billions.. Now there’s a combustible mix. Let’s start with the IRS, illegal immigration and fraud. We’ll come back in a minute to Senator Rubio and Congressman Ryan. For those who came in late, a year before the IRS scandals burst onto the scene in early May of 2013, an alert investigative reporter for WTHR-Indianapolis (Channel 13), Bob Segall by name, produced a stunning piece of journalism. Segall’s video report is found here and we will quote from his story for the basics.
