| The Massachusetts woman at the center of the Facebook photo scandal at Arlington Cemetery has been fired from her job at a Cape Cod business, MyFoxBoston.com reports. Lindsey Stone´s employer, Living Independently Forever (LIFE), issued a statement on their Facebook page on Wednesday announcing that they have released the two employees involved in the controversial incident. "We wish to announce that the two employees recently involved in the Arlington Cemetery incident are no longer employees of LIFE. Again, we deeply regret any disrespect to members of the military

Normally I wouldn´t say fire them after doing something so stupid but they were there on the companies dime and it reflects poorly on the organization. Also why have employees who are so stupid.

And I certainly hope her sorry butt does not receive any unemployment benefits...she needs to drag that butt from interview to endless interview and explain why she got fired. Can we put those interviews on Youtube? Wouldn´t that be "cool?"
She should not receive one thin dime of money from anyone.

The company regrets "any disrespect." Being Massachusetts, one gets the impression they fired the pair to still public outcries, not because they condemned what they did.

True, Poster #1, but also this involves, at the least, "poor judgment". Why let such pieces of trash impose this character flaw upon their charges?

Well I think she deserved to be fired. There are things you can joke about and some you just can´t. And the final resting place for men and women who died for their country is one of the can´ts.

I noticed the parents of Stone spoke out about sorry she was. Let´s see an overweight single woman in her late twenties, living with her parents, and working for a non-profit. Oh yeah, I think I´ve spotted part of her problem.

25 complaints were received after the incident? Bet by today, that number has increased to at least 2500.

Yesterday I read that Lindsey’s 61-year old father apologized for her behavior. Apparently, the ‘girl’ is 30 years old and lives at home with mom and dad. I’m sure she went for a liberal arts degree on federally subsidized student loans. Now she will be collecting unemployment and food stamps.
She is the embodiment of the Democrat’s ‘Julia’.

I do find it amazing that actions do occasionally have consequence, even in today´s world of ´its not my fault´.

n 196, or thereabouts, I was visiting the luxemburg american cemetary, where thousands of our troops are buried, with General Patton buried at the top of the layout of graves. And above that is a wall, about 4 feet high. Perched on that wall was a young woman, striking a pose like a 1940s movie starlet, and a young man was taking her picture. To this day, I regret not putting the young man and his camera into a trash receptacle.
I thought of that when I saw this story. And if she didn´t mean to be disrespectful, what did she mean??

Ordinarily, I would say this was a free speech matter and support her right to do it and oppose her being fired. BUT she was on company time on a company trip. I still support her right to do it (vulgar and crass though she may be), but her employer wasn´t wrong to fire her, IMHO.

#20- this was never a "free speech" issue. Freedom of speech protects our speech from being punished or limited by the government, and government only! We certainly do not have freedom to say whatever we want without consequences in the private sector. For example you can´t walk into work every morning and tell your boss vile, disgusting, or vulgar things without it affecting your future employment.

She didn´t mean any disrespect? Well, alright then. I guess in her world, mocking a call for respectful silence and flipping a bird is . . . what?
As much as this chick´s all too common vulgarity is a blight on our culture, so also is her kid of self-justifying non-apology apology, which implies that those who took offense misinterpreted her meaning. What a moron - she´s too stupid to have a job working with people if she doesn´t see any inherent disrespect in her actions.

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — A Massachusetts police official say the brothers suspected of bombing the Boston Marathon before having shootouts with authorities didn´t have gun permits. Cambridge Police Commissioner Robert Haas tells The Associated Press in an interview Sunday that neither Tamerlan Tsarnaev (tsahr-NEYE´-ehv) nor his brother Dzhokhar had permission to carry firearms. He says it´s unclear whether either ever applied and the applications aren´t considered public records.

Facing a surging homicide rate and several headline-grabbing murders, Chicago’s top cop is taking aim at lobbyists who he says prevent politicians from implementing more gun control measures. Appearing on a local Windy City Sunday morning talk show on the radio station WLSAM, Police Superintendent Garry McCarthy said special interests that lobby politicians to influence their opinion on gun control are the real problem. “If there was a special interest influencing police work, I believe that would be called corruption,” McCarthy said.

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on Wednesday lashed out over the claim that the administration misled Americans about the nature of the Libya terror attack by asserting that it was the result of a protest, raising her voice during a Senate hearing and asking: "What difference, at this point, does it make?" Clinton, in what may be her final set of testimony as secretary, pointedly challenged Republican Wisconsin Sen. Ron Johnson when he claimed the department could have "easily" determined what happened that night by interviewing staffers who were evacuated.

WASHINGTON — Defense Secretary Leon Panetta ordered a worldwide review Tuesday of hiring practices at all U.S. military day care centers after the Army revealed that it discovered problems with security background checks of workers at a Washington-area center. Shortly after the Army said it was launching an investigation of hiring practices at its 283 day care centers worldwide, Panetta´s press secretary, George Little, issued a statement saying Panetta supports the review. Little said Panetta has directed each of the military services to conduct similar reviews. The actions stem from the Sept. 26 arrests of two Army employees Source name must be spelled out according to site style

WASHINGTON – The Internal Revenue Serviced scandal today spread further within the White House and closer to President Obama. White House spokesman Jay Carney today disclosed that Obama’s chief of staff, Dennis McDonough, and other top White House officials had advance warning that the IRS was targeting conservative groups. But he insisted McDonough and the other White House officials purposely kept Obama out of the loop.McDonough “rightly chose not to take action” to inform Obama, Carney told reporters at the daily White House briefing.

The Washington Post on Monday reported that Obama’s Department of Justice was investigating journalists before they started wiretapping the Associated Press – for one, Fox News correspondent James Rosen in 2010. Their headline wasn´t "Obama Team Also Spied on Fox News." Fox wasn´t in the headline, on A-1 or on A-12, where the story continued. Newly obtained court documents “reveal how deeply investigators explored the private communications of a working journalist — and raise the question of how often journalists have been investigated as closely as Rosen was in 2010.” Reporter Ann Marimow began:

WASHINGTON – A top IRS official in the division that reviews nonprofit groups will invoke the Fifth Amendment and refuse to answer questions before a House committee investigating the agency’s improper screening of conservative nonprofit groups. Lois Lerner, the head of the exempt organizations division of the IRS, won’t answer questions about what she knew about the improper screening – or why she didn’t reveal it to Congress, according to a letter from her defense lawyer, William W. Taylor 3rd. Lerner was scheduled to appear before the House Oversight committee Wednesday.

The wheels came off the Obama administration yesterday. We learned of a startling assault on freedom of the press by the Department of Justice, following the revelation last week of the unprecedented information-gathering foray by that department against The Associated Press. Then, a few minutes later, the Justice Department’s inspector general released a report declaring that the US attorney in Arizona used the leak of a confidential memo to try to discredit a whistleblower in the notorious “gun-walking” scandal known as Fast and Furious (which got two federal agents killed). The leak was called “egregious.”

A senior adviser to President Obama mounted a combative defense of the administration on Sunday, saying the controversies enveloping the White House were the result of Republican lawmakers’ trying to “drag Washington into a swamp of partisan fishing expeditions, trumped-up hearings and false allegations.”The remarks came from Dan Pfeiffer, a member of the president’s inner circle, as he appeared on all five major Sunday morning talk shows in an effort to move the administration past what commentators have described as a “hell week” of controversy and missteps.

One of the questions was whether he/she was concerned about unsecured weapons in the home. Another asked whether he/she was "in a relationship in which you have been physically hurt or are you afraid of your partner?" Judge Andrew Napolitano explained that the question about guns comes out of a post-Sandy Hook executive order by President Obama, but it will be required under Obamacare. Varney expressed amazement

While many Americans were tuned into news coverage of the massive damage from tornadoes ravaging the state of Oklahoma, Rhode Island Democratic Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse took to the Senate floor to rail against his Republican colleagues for denying the theory of anthropogenic global warming. Whitehouse spent 15 minutes chastising GOP senators and justified his remarks by alluding to states that seek federal assistance in the wake of natural disasters. “So, you may have a question for me,” Whitehouse said. “Why do you care?
