Families in Hurricane Sandy-ravaged New Jersey will face the highest tax increase as a percentage of their income – 6.82% or about $6,933 more in taxes -- if Congress does not reach an agreement on the fiscal cliff tax issues during the lame-duck session, according to an analysis by the Tax Foundation. In its study of how the fiscal cliff would affect typical families in each state, the Tax Foundation reports that if the numerous tax provisions that are due to expire on Dec. 31 are not changed, a

We live in NJ. Our property tax is currently $8000 a year for our tiny home. Most of it goes to wages and benefits for teachers. Not for the children as they would have you believe. My husband and I vote straight Republican and always have. If this is true, we will lose our home, we are just making it now.

New Jersey still has a little way to go before they are even with the good folks of Kalifornia in living in a liberal utopia, but not much. When the state needs that much from a citizen to survive, it´s time to replace the state because they are legally robbing you.

All together now, Socialism Doesn’t Work.

Those who vote Democrat in NJ and CA get the government they deserve. Welcome to Realville.

The Mayan Calendar foresaw the takers out-voting the makers.

Romney said, “If you want free stuff, vote for the other guy.” The people did.

Unfortunately, there ain’t no free lunch.

Have a good four years, takers.

I left NJ many years ago, and have no regrets. I feel sorry for the Repuvlicans in that state, but they saw the handwriting on the wall, just as I did.
Where are all the news stories on the Sandy aftermath? The suffering, the failure of gov´t, FEMA etc.
Has NJ been healed by Obama the Great?

My cousins very liberal husband said tonight that the higher taxes from the federal gov´t and here in California were the price of freedom....

His brother in law had been talking to him about how much his taxes are going up on his business he has. Didn´t make a dent with the liberal.

My cousin walked by me and said there was a socialist in the other room : )

WASHINGTON — The mysterious American plane that landed at an airport in Tehran belongs to an overseas client, the bank that acts as a trustee for the plane confirmed on Friday. Scott Nielsen, an executive at the Bank of Utah, which according to FAA databases owns the plane, said that the executives had been trying to reach the real owners but “This is an overseas customer and they don’t operate under the same hours as we do.” Clients “can be an American they can not be one,” Nielsen said. “The service is used by all kinds of people for a

A lawyer who specializes in sex abuse cases says this week´s lawsuit against director Bryan Singer is but one of several Hollywood abuse cases that will come to light in the coming weeks. Today we learned of a suit against Bryan Singer, the director of the upcoming superhero sequel X-Men: Days of Future Past and a big Democratic donor, charging he drugged and sexually abused a 15-year-old boy back in 1999. Singer´s legal team denies the charges. Lawyer Jeff Herman, who is representing the plaintiff, cautions Wednesday´s suit isn´t an isolated incident. Herman works as a sexual abuse attorney who previously sued

One rainy morning this month, the man who thought he would be president boarded a train near his beach house in San Diego. He stepped off in Burbank, Calif., and caught a ride to a sound stage, where his on-again, off-again political consigliere, Mike Murphy, was waiting to shoot a commercial on a set that bore more than a passing resemblance to the Oval Office. Looking and sounding like a president out of central casting, he nailed his lines. The crew called him “one-take Romney,” and before he departed, they swarmed, extending arms around his shoulders and angling their iPhones for

Pope breaks rules as he washes feet of

ROME - Pope Francis washed the feet of 12 disabled and elderly people Thursday - women and non-Catholics among them - in a pre-Easter ritual designed to show his willingness to serve others like a "slave." Francis´ decision in 2013 to perform the Holy Thursday ritual on women and Muslim inmates at a juvenile detention center helped define his rule-breaking papacy just two weeks after his election. It riled traditionalist Catholics, who pointed to the Vatican´s own regulations that the ritual be performed only on men since Jesus´ 12 apostles were men.

What are the odds? I mean, Vladimir Putin does a call-in show and one guy who happens to get through—to ask a question in English—is Ed Snowden? That is one amazing coincidence—almost as amazing as those soldiers who mysteriously materialized in Crimea turning out to be Russian. In a few moments, Snowden became part of a Soviet-style propaganda machine, even though he clearly views himself as a public-spirited crusader. After Snowden leaked all those NSA documents to the Guardian and the Washington Post, which shared a Pulitzer Prize this week, he fled to Hong Kong and then to Moscow, which was more than happy

Detroit bailout plans just paper over

In Detroit´s unfolding saga, the only innocent victims are city residents. So if there is any case for a Motown bailout, it is to make the city more livable for them. However, that seems to be the main goal of neither the Democratic White House nor the state´s Republican governor -- both of whom have come up with nifty new schemes to shovel taxpayer largesse to city retirees. Just two weeks ago, Emergency Manager Kevyn Orr had been threatening to put a buzzsaw to the city´s $3.5 billion unfunded pension liabilities to lop off savings to “invest” in city services. Most voters think the White House is trying to cover-up what happened in Benghazi and want Congress to continue to investigate the administration’s handling of the attack on the U.S. consulate there that killed four Americans. That’s according to a Fox News poll released Thursday. Sixty percent of voters want lawmakers to keep investigating what happened in Benghazi. That’s down from 65 percent who felt that way in November, and a high of 73 percent in early June 2013.

After presenting at the Academy Awards this year, Kim Novak didn’t want to leave her house. The Hitchcock screen siren, 81, was too humiliated to venture from her home near the Rogue River in Oregon. President Obama addressed the White House press corps today, announcing that with the final numbers in, Obamacare´s exchanges have attracted eight million sign-ups -- 35 percent of whom are "under the age of 35," he said. Several elements of his comments were misleading: (1) At first blush, the 35 percent stat is both significant and impressive. As recently as last month, the share of "young invincibles" signing up for plans was struggling in the 25 percent range, far short of the actuarial target of nearly 40 percent. A leap into the mid-30´s, while still shy of the goal, would constitute a major step, and would bode well for the risk pools'

It’s the stuff of Westerns: a showdown on the desert plains, the big bad government against an underdog farmer. Though the story has only grabbed national headlines in the past several days, rancher Cliven Bundy has illegally grazed cattle on the Nevada land surrounding his farm for over 20 years. He hasn’t paid grazing fees since 1993, and refuses to renew the necessary grazing permit.(Snip)Rather than using the avenues and pathways presented to him, Bundy has staunchly declared his own law and allegiances. Unfortunately, reality doesn’t work this way. If only it did—we could rebel for paying stupid taxes, refuse to

When it comes to tracking the cost of Obama family vacations, there are two primary challenges. First, the Obamas are prolific jet-setters, so there are many details to track. Second, the Obama administration, clearly embarrassed by these lavish and frequent family vacations, stonewalls the release of records at every turn. But we have been relentless in pursuit of this information. Our attorneys file the lawsuits and make our case, and our investigators pour through pages of records and crunch the numbers. And the information we’ve uncovered – information that would otherwise remain under lock and key – shows that the

According to the Roanoke Times, "seven multiracial students, calling themselves ´The Committee,´" have also demanded the school "acknowledge and apologize for participating in chattel slavery." To "honor the dignity and work of immigrants," Democratic House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi helps Bishop Marc Andrus wash the feet of two children Thursday at Saint John the Evangelist Episcopal Church in San Francisco. Pelosi also used the occasion to talk about passing HR15 - bipartisan immigration legislation that her office says would "reduce the deficit by nearly $1 trillion, secure our borders, unite our families, protect our workers and provide an earned pathway to citizenship." The Democratic leader´s ceremony coincides with Pope Francis´ similar ceremony in Rome to mark Holy Week.

Imagine a vendor on the National Mall, selling burgers and dogs, who hasn’t paid his rent in 20 years. He refuses to recognize his landlord, the National Park Service, as a legitimate authority. Every court has ruled against him, and fines have piled up. What’s more, the effluents from his food cart are having a detrimental effect on the spring grass in the capital. Would an armed posse come to his defense, aiming their guns at the park police? Would the lawbreaker get prime airtime on Fox News, breathless updates in the Drudge Report, a sympathetic ear from Tea Party Republicans?
