General Petraeus Gave Jill

Did you know you can get a medal from the U.S. military for schmoozing? Apparently you can. At General David Petraeus´s recommendation, the Joint Chiefs of Staff gave Tampa Bay socialite Jill Kelley the country´s second-highest honor a civilian can receive, reports Jeane MacIntosh of the New York Post. Kelley received the award from Petraeus himself in a ceremony in Washington DC last year.

Eeew.

Holly, meanwhile, got nothing, not even the loyalty she was entitled to.

Did this have anything to do with exceeding a certain number of Kama Sutra positions?

Having lived in two communities where the Navy and Marine Corps, respectively, represented a fair amount of the population but were shunned by the regular residents, I can see how what she did was commendable. And it didn´t involve just the officers. One early report, before the mud started flying, told of her raising funds so that lower echelon military personnel could attend the military balls.

I refuse to judge her. It was her telling her friend, a well-respected FBI agent with major accomplishments on his record, about the disturbing emails she´d been receiving. And the emails mentioned General Petraeus. It was her FBI friend who determined the emails warranted FBI attention. No one knew they were from Broadwell - just some anonymous woman making threats. And mentioning a four-star general.

Thus Kelley pulled the first thread in unraveling this strange story of Petraeus and Broadwell, which led to his resignation, and which may finally lead to his being the key to finding out who in the White House was playing games with truth after the Benghazi murders. We have a pretty good idea who the mastermind may be.

So I´m not judging Kelley.

Holly got a $187,000 a year gummint position.

That buys a whole lot of forgiveness, I suppose.

I’ve seen no evidence that Kelly did anything immoral or illegal, but there are plenty of people making those insinuations on this forum. Perhaps I’m missing something. I hope so, because gratuitous mudslinging is more saloon than salon.

Makes me wonder if Petraeus got some three way or four way action...
And for those of you who think that I am making idle speculation, once he admitted to the first one, anything is possible.

If the government was so fond of her outreach parties, why didn´t they underwrite their costs? Maybe they wouldn´t be millions in debt. The only thing I have against her is getting Petraeus and Allen to intervene in a custody fight.

"The economy and the social aspects are indivisible to us," commented on Tuesday the Minister of Petroleum and Mining Rafael Ramírez. "We are moving towards the creation of a different system," he added. Regarding the government´s so-called economic offensive, Ramírez stressed their new approach will focus on "production sectors so as to produce our own supplies and food." "Our economy has been under attack, and we will not wait until next year to take action; on the contrary, we have created a new exchange system, we have opened up new ways to allow the inflow of dollars," he stressed. India´s Supreme Court has created an official third sex for its transgender eunuchs and announced they will have a quota of government jobs and college places to help them overcome discrimination. The decision was met with jubilation by transgender charities who said it was a milestone in their fight against marginalisation in Indian society. "We are elated and thankful to the court," said Kalki Subramanium, a leading transgender rights activist. "The decision has come after a century of suppression and marginalisation by the legal and social systems. "This verdict is certainly landmark and a new beginning. The biggest challenge is the social recognition.

At least 12 people are dead and more than 2,000 homes have been destroyed by a large fire that wreaked havoc over the weekend in Valparaiso, Chile. Some 10,000 people have been forced to evacuate parts of the port city. Government spokesman Álvaro Elizalde says those figures are likely to go up as the fire continues to burn. The fire has been driven by strong winds, and efforts to fight the flames also have been complicated by the area´s steep terrain and lack of essential infrastructure, as NPR´s Lourdes Garcia-Navarro reports for our Newscast unit. She adds: "This is a city built on

Amnesty: President Obama often laments "our broken immigration system" as a reason for his failure to enforce its laws. But as a wave of illegals is about to descend here, the hard fact is that it´s his own policies that broke it. The nonpartisan Inter-American Development Bank and the Migration Policy Institute both reported optimal conditions for a big wave of illegal immigration into the U.S. from Mexico and Central America soon. Based on the slowdown in China´s economy, a recovery in U.S. low-skilled jobs such as construction, and rising U.S. interest rates, it´s fair enough.

Like him or hate him, there is no disputing that Rush Limbaugh’s very special brand of mixing right-wing politics with his flare for entertainment has produced one of the most successful radio programs in the medium’s long history. Whatever the burning political question of the day, millions of Americans have relished the opportunity to tune into Rush’s program, knowing that he would quickly take that hot potato, throw a few gallons of verbal kerosene into the mix and elevate the matter into a five alarm fire with a just a few well-chosen words spoken in the style only Rush Limbaugh could

When it comes to tracking the cost of Obama family vacations, there are two primary challenges. First, the Obamas are prolific jet-setters, so there are many details to track. Second, the Obama administration, clearly embarrassed by these lavish and frequent family vacations, stonewalls the release of records at every turn. But we have been relentless in pursuit of this information. Our attorneys file the lawsuits and make our case, and our investigators pour through pages of records and crunch the numbers. And the information we’ve uncovered – information that would otherwise remain under lock and key – shows that the

I live in Las Vegas. I live and breath Nevada politics. Something is very wrong. Something smells rotten in the Nevada desert. And Senator Harry Reid’s fingerprints are all over it. I am of course referring to the Bundy Ranch siege. This was a dispute between a Nevada ranching family with rights to the land in question for 140 years and the BLM (Bureayu of Land Management). The government claims they haven’t paid grazing fees for 20 years. The result was a government assault on the ranch- including snipers with assault rifles, SUV’s, helicopters, airplanes and over 200 heavily armed troops. No

Look, everyone loves Sean Connery, particularly Sean Connery. That’s why he plays Sean Connery in every movie he’s in. People love that Scottish brogue so much, they don’t mind that he has it when he plays Juan Sánchez Villa-Lobos Ramírez, an immortal Spaniard in Highlander. The guy even won an Oscar for playing an Irish cop with a Scottish accent. Talk about sexist double standards: Meryl Streep has to master foreign dialects to get her golden statuettes. Connery just has to show up on time. In economics you devalue a currency by printing too much of it. In film you
