| After repeatedly clashing with co-anchors and overseeing plummeting ratings, the Today show´s Matt Lauer is reportedly being given the boot. The long-time host, who earns a staggering $21.5 million a year, is being blamed for the NBC morning show´s dismal performance over the past three months and sources claim ratings will only improve if he is replaced. According to The National Enquirer, weatherman Al Roker is plotting to push the 54-year-old TV veteran out of his anchor chair and is lobbying a newly appointed Today producer for help.

I do not really care as I do not watch and have not for some time, but al roker is not the answer, he was one reason I got tired of the whole thing. Besides, we have this site which is more interesting and has smarter people. Happy turkey day and thank the good Lord for Lucianne and her crew!!

He makes 21.5 million a year and yet he is an adversary of the so-called rich. He creates no jobs and produces a bad product. The world is upside down.

Personally I couldn´t care less who they replace him with as I don´t anything on NBC...period...so long as they continue with their liberal, prattling, pandering propaganda. If you want to know their real agenda just watch that sham (or shame) of a "news" network called MSNBC that hasn´t a clue how to spell the word "truth"!

What OP said. A little schadenfreude to cheer up the post-election gloom. Lauer has been a snotty little brat since the first day he walked on to that set. Meredith Vieira carried the show for years until she decided he just weighed too much and was too unpleasant to lug around any more.
We never were serious watchers - we like Fox in the morning - but cannot imagine why anyone ever thought he was an appealing person. Most never cared "where in the world" he was.

They´re really starting to eat their own, aren´t they? NBC´s turning into its Soviet Motherland circa 1924-1936 when thousands of Old Communists were hammered-and-sickled by the Cheka (later the NKVD/ MVD) on orders from Lenin and Stalin, for being insufficiently zealous or something. Lauer seems to be currently fitted up for the Trotsky role.

Knee-jerk, Lib buffon Colmes takes FoxNews down a click with every appearance. He is a waste of time, serving only to fog the Far Left threat to this nation. FoxNews should hire only movement Libs with teeth, so the political battle can be joined. I was happy to see John Postesta on a few months ago... We need to see, confront and expose more dead serious Libs like him. Arguing with joke Libs like Colmes only weakens us on the Right and wastes our time.

In her best selling novel, State of Wonder, author Ann Patchett draws us into the science-fiction world of an indigenous people in Manaus, Brazil known as the Lakashi tribe. Deep in the rainforest tribal women nibble bark from the martin tree -- a veritable reproductive fountain of youth that offsets the normal conditions of menopause and enables women to bear children into old age.(snip) the ASRM´s decision to court older women will likely add even more domestic and foreign revenue streams to a medical business that, despite its high failure rates, continues to grow exponentially.

The Egyptian government has nabbed a major terrorist tied to the Sept. 11, 2012 terrorist attack in Benghazi, Libya, (snip) And that terrorist has direct, longstanding ties to al Qaeda leader Ayman al Zawahiri. The captured terrorist is Muhammad Jamal al Kashef (a.k.a. Abu Ahmed), who served as a senior Egyptian Islamic Jihad (EIJ) terrorist in the 1990s and was imprisoned for years. The Republican assault on Susan Rice is a fabricated scandal, attacking her for repeating CIA talking points, almost verbatim, to explain the Benghazi attacks. The U.N. ambassador’s version, even with its omissions, may turn out to be closer to the truth than some of the inflammatory GOP rhetoric. But just because Rice is being unfairly pilloried, this doesn’t mean she would be a good secretary of state. And it’s a close call on the merits: Given her friendship with President Obama, she would be uniquely able to speak as his emissary. But she would also carry some baggage

The public got its first look Thursday at Lois Lerner, who has gone from faceless IRS bureaucrat to the face that launched what feels like 1,000 congressional hearings and conspiracy theories. But it was only a brief sighting since she didn´t stay long at a House hearing to further probe her role in how some IRS workers came to target conservative groups seeking tax-exempt status. (Snip)She did make a short statement to declare her innocence, however. Lerner´s motivation was more transparent than much of what the IRS has done in connection with this controversy. When you get right down to it, the political targeting and stalling of tax-exempt applications by the IRS was an effort to defund the Tea Party. Rick Santelli, one of the Tea Party founders and my CNBC colleague, was the first to make this point. I’ve taken it a step further: The IRS was taking the Tea Party out of play for the 2012 election, as it looked to avoid a repeat of 2010 and another Tea Party landslide. There are a lot of numbers out there.

On “Fox News Sunday” last weekend, White House aide Dan Pfeiffer was asked about President Barack Obama’s whereabouts the night of the Sept. 11 attack in Benghazi. This was the night when we lost our first ambassador in 30 years, and when three other Americans were killed in an attack that lasted all night long at multiple locations within the eastern Libyan city. Since the president is commander in chief, one would think where he was and what he did during such an event would be of obvious public concern.
