Phony war hero Danny Crane
admits he was lying

Tampa Tribune [FL], by Elaine Silvestrini

Original Article

Tampa — Danny Crane bragged that he was the "most decorated veteran in Florida." He claimed he had been awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross, two Purple Hearts, an Air Medal and other war-related awards. He said he was injured fighting in Iraq, he was shot six times, lost vision in his right eye, had 24 plates in his face and broke all his ribs. He told people he did tours in Afghanistan and Iraq. And he told Veterans Affairs he had post-traumatic stress disorder. None of this was true. In fact, Crane was discharged from the Army after serving less than three months, and he never fought in a war.

FTA: Not only did Crane bilk the VA of more than $7,000 ...

How in Hades does this happen? The VERY few times I´ve been to a VA hospital, they´ve required every page of my medical records. If this jackwagon served only three months (hell - that´s boot camp!) then it should have been more than obvious that he was a phony.

Well, at least he didn´t become a United States Senator. /s

He also claimed to have survived the sinking of the USS Indianapolis by killing a shark with his bare hands. Shortly thereafter he got shot in the gut during Pickett´s Charge.

#2...he well might become one in the near future. After all, that 47% of American "Takers" will no doubt admire the puke. Add on the brain dead and you´ve got a new US Senator!

Whew...thank the Lord! I thought there for a minute something bad was being said about DENNY Crane...

You people belittling John Kerry on this thread should apologize: he spent 4 months in Vietnam!

Isn´t this the same guy who fought, died & was ressurrected after the battle of the Alamo ?

Take it from our valiant CinC, Danny Crane, when you lie, make sure there´s no one around that can disprove them. Like classmates at Occidental or schoolmates at the madrassa.

Hey chill out, didn´t the Supreme Court say that there is a Constitutional Right to lie about your military service, or lack there of?

Nothing worse than a phoney soldier who´s also a pathological liar.

Sounds like a resume enhancer for a future Democrat run for the Senate...

He should stay away from military aviators. I understand the removal of a DFC is very painful indeed.

The mystery of what happened to Brenda Heist more than a decade ago when she disappeared after dropping off her two kids at a Pennsylvania school was cleared up when she reappeared in the Florida Keys last week. The details of why she decided to emerge, however, remain shrouded in mystery. The husband she abandoned in Lititz, Pa., who was left to wonder what happened to his wife, fend off suspicions that he was responsible for her disappearance and raise two children alone, says he has forgiven her for leaving the family.

Jeez. A national campaign to get rid of me. More emails than I can read. Threats of an advertising boycott. An answering machine jammed with hate-filled calls. It’s pig heaven for an attention-craving columnist. What did I do to deserve this? I suggested that we stop asking taxpayers to foot the bill for military funeral honors for all veterans. The people in charge of these things have already decided we can’t afford live buglers. One of the buglers contacted me, and that got me thinking. Why are we doing this in the first place?

Is the Iraq war to blame for the mess we are in? Now, I should qualify that question by explaining "mess" and "we." By "mess," I mean the dawn of Barack Obama´s second term, the predictably catastrophic rollout of Obamacare, the exploding debt and deficit, the stimulus boondoggles, etc. By "we," I mean conservatives (particularly those, like me, who supported the war), but also anyone else who doesn´t think Obama has done a bang-up job. There seems to be a growing consensus that the answer to that question is "yes."

Mark Kelly may not yet be a household name, but he’s the better or worse half of Gabby Giffords, and together with her is the public face of Americans for Responsible Solutions, a PAC funded by a Texas lawyer to ban assault rifles. On FOX, Kelly said, “In 1934, we banned automatic weapons. You know, I argue the semi-automatic assault weapon with a high capacity magazine is just too dangerous to be on the street where criminals and terrorists and the mentally ill can easily get them.”

Tess Guthrie, a 22-year-old from Lismore, New South Wales, said the 6-foot python was wrapped three times around her daughter´s arm. "I thought I was having a nightmare," Guthrie told a local television news station. "It was only because the cat was hissing that I woke up and saw the snake with its body wrapped around my daughter Zara’s arm."

Christianity ´close to extinction´
in Middle East

Christianity faces being wiped out of the “biblical heartlands” in the Middle East because of mounting persecution of worshippers, according to a new report. The study warns that Christians suffer greater hostility across the world than any other religious group. And it claims politicians have been “blind” to the extent of violence faced by Christians in Africa, Asia and the Middle East. The most common threat to Christians abroad is militant Islam, it says, claiming that oppression in Muslim countries is often ignored because of a fear that criticism will be seen as “racism”.

What did President Obama do on the evening of 9/11/12 when our men were under attack in Benghazi? The invaluable Andrew McCarthy reminds us that Obama and Secretary Clinton had a 10:00 p.m. phone call of which many (including, I think, Chris Wallace) have lost sight. This morning when Wallace asked Obama aide Dan Pfeiffer what Obama was up to that evening, Pfeiffer declared the line of inquiry “offensive.” Translation: Obama and his minions would prefer to “move on” and are warning the likes of FNC off:(Snip for video)The Weekly Standard’s Daniel Halper has posted the rush transcript

WASHINGTON – The Internal Revenue Serviced scandal today spread further within the White House and closer to President Obama. White House spokesman Jay Carney today disclosed that Obama’s chief of staff, Dennis McDonough, and other top White House officials had advance warning that the IRS was targeting conservative groups. But he insisted McDonough and the other White House officials purposely kept Obama out of the loop.McDonough “rightly chose not to take action” to inform Obama, Carney told reporters at the daily White House briefing.

The Washington Post on Monday reported that Obama’s Department of Justice was investigating journalists before they started wiretapping the Associated Press – for one, Fox News correspondent James Rosen in 2010. Their headline wasn´t "Obama Team Also Spied on Fox News." Fox wasn´t in the headline, on A-1 or on A-12, where the story continued. Newly obtained court documents “reveal how deeply investigators explored the private communications of a working journalist — and raise the question of how often journalists have been investigated as closely as Rosen was in 2010.” Reporter Ann Marimow began:

A senior adviser to President Obama mounted a combative defense of the administration on Sunday, saying the controversies enveloping the White House were the result of Republican lawmakers’ trying to “drag Washington into a swamp of partisan fishing expeditions, trumped-up hearings and false allegations.”The remarks came from Dan Pfeiffer, a member of the president’s inner circle, as he appeared on all five major Sunday morning talk shows in an effort to move the administration past what commentators have described as a “hell week” of controversy and missteps.

Stuart Varney said this morning on "Varney & Co." that one of his producers was given a questionnaire with some surprisingly intrusive questions on it when he switched doctors. One of the questions was whether he/she was concerned about unsecured weapons in the home. Another asked whether he/she was "in a relationship in which you have been physically hurt or are you afraid of your partner?" Judge Andrew Napolitano explained that the question about guns comes out of a post-Sandy Hook executive order by President Obama, but it will be required under Obamacare. Varney expressed amazement
