| Greenhouse gases in the atmosphere hit a new record high in 2011, the World Meteorological Organization has said. In its annual Greenhouse Gas Bulletin released on Tuesday, the organisation said that carbon dioxide levels reached 391 parts per million in 2011. The report estimates that carbon dioxide accounts for 85% of the "radiative forcing" that leads to global temperature rises. Other potent greenhouse gases such as methane also reached record highs. The carbon dioxide levels appear to have been rising at a level of two parts per million each year for the last 10 years - with the latest measure

Comments: I think they are actually measuring B.S. levels.

This is such utter BS. CO2 represents about 2% of the atmoshere. And virtually all of that CO2 is naturally occurring, mainly from decay of organic matter and plants, but also from volcanoes and respiration of animal life. Man-made CO2 from combustion of coal, oil, petrochemicals, etc.represents one one-hundredth (1/100) of that CO2--or 0.2% of the atmosphere. So, we are talking about tiny, tiny quantities of man-made CO2 as compared to the atmosphere. The major greenhouse gas is water vapor, NOT CO2. The World Meteorological Organization is comprised of liars or ignoramuses--or both.

Actually #2, 391 ppm comes to an astounding .0391% of all atmospheric gases.
Or to put it in a little more understandable perpsective, it would be a grand total of 39 people in a crowd of 100,000 who are watching a bowl game in a giant football stadium.
But you are right in that human industrial activity is responsible for only a small amount of that, somewhere in the single digits of the whole.
To say that human produce CO2 has any measurable effect on global temperatures is a totally bogus and unsustainable assumption.

Then expect improved plant growth. Already there is measurable increase in forest growth in the Southeastern USA.

Wait a minute... How can 391 PPM be anywhere close to a record? According to ice core data, CO2 levels were above 1200ppm in the age of dinosaurs.
Is the World Meteorological Organization compose of a bunch of idiots?

The parade of lies will continue nearly unabated until they get what they want. . . control over the dwindling masses. The masses will be dwindling because that is another major desire of the annointed ones. How else could they be considered good stewards of the human race unless they cull the herd every now and again.

In related news, the Trees, Orchards, & Grasses Coalition announced that at their next conference they will pass a resolution praising all those who contributed to the increase in their food supply. Also, the Coalition stated that with this most recent increase, they will continue their outreach into the government school system to reeducate all the young skulls full of mush that CO2 is not evil, but actually plant food.

WMO, not a reliable source.
From Wiki (FWIW): "Established in 1950, WMO became the specialised agency of the United Nations for meteorology (weather and climate), operational hydrology and related geophysical sciences. It has its headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland, and is a member of the United Nations Development Group"

And the more astonishing fact is that only CO2 emissions from the US causes 100% of the problems.
The rest of the world´s CO2 emissions, probably 90% now, will be reduced someday. Real soon. For they are good people.

Unfortunatly you can buy, for a very modest price, an extremely accurate hand held meter that can tell you how much CO2 is in the air. I have one in my car...just in case I run into global warming zealots. Hillarity ensues. Worth every penny I paid for it.
Of course when I mentioned running into GW zealots I did not mean actually running them over. I have a firm rule of not running over people in my car...actually, in the case of global warming zealots it´s more like a guideline.

KABUL, Afghanistan -- Taliban gunmen launched a coordinated attack on an international aid group’s guesthouse in an upscale Kabul neighborhood Friday, setting off a furious firefight that lasted several hours and renewing fears of the insurgents’ ability to strike virtually at will in the heart of the capital. The late-afternoon attack took place in Kabul’s Shar-e-Naw district, home to numerous heavily fortified compounds housing international aid groups and Afghan governmental and security entities. The assault began with a powerful car bomb detonated at the gates of the guesthouse used by workers for the International Organization for Migration

A Bronx teacher fired after a student complained about her use of a racial slur says the whole thing is just a ridiculous case of meaning lost -- literally -- in translation. Petrona Smith, 65, was a non-tenured teacher at the bilingual school PS 211 until March 2012, when she was fired after a student complained of being called "negro" and "a failure." But Smith, who is black and a native of the West Indies, said the student misunderstood her meaning: she was using the word "negro," the word for the color black in Spanish

The murder of a soldier in south London on Wednesday has prompted fears of a backlash against British Muslims after the English Defence League staged an impromptu rally in the capital and two mosques were attacked. The BNP leader, Nick Griffin, has also reacted to the killing with provocative tweets calling for a protest in Woolwich and claiming the crime is the result of "mass immigration". Farooq Murad of the Muslim Council of Britain said the EDL´s rally in London on Wednesday night was cause for concern. "When attacks like these happen there´s always the danger of far-right extremism

MOUNT VERNON, Wash. - The Interstate 5 bridge collapse into the Skagit River was caused by an oversize truck hitting the span, the Washington State Patrol chief said. "For reasons unknown at this point in time the semi struck the overhead of the bridge causing the collapse," Batiste told an overnight news conference. The truck made it off the bridge and the driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Two other vehicles went into the water Thursday evening as the structure crumbled. Three people were rescued and are recovering. Drivers should expect delays

WASHINGTON — When President Barack Obama pushed his health care overhaul plan through Congress, he counted labor unions among his strongest supporters. But some unions leaders have grown frustrated and angry about what they say are unexpected consequences of the new law — problems that they say could jeopardize the health benefits offered to millions of their members. The issue could create a political headache next year for Democrats facing re-election if disgruntled union members believe the Obama administration and Congress aren´t working to fix the problem.

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Federal forecasters are predicting yet another busy hurricane season. Thursday´s outlook calls for 13 to 20 named storms, seven to 11 that strengthen into hurricanes and three to six that become major hurricanes. The prediction by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration is more than what is considered an average Atlantic season. Last year was the third-busiest on record with 19 named storms. Ten became hurricanes and two were major storms, with winds over 111 mph. That included Sandy, which caused $50 billion in damage even though it lost

When you get right down to it, the political targeting and stalling of tax-exempt applications by the IRS was an effort to defund the Tea Party. Rick Santelli, one of the Tea Party founders and my CNBC colleague, was the first to make this point. I’ve taken it a step further: The IRS was taking the Tea Party out of play for the 2012 election, as it looked to avoid a repeat of 2010 and another Tea Party landslide. There are a lot of numbers out there.

Conservative radio host Mark Levin is very skeptical of the idea that President Obama had absolutely no idea about the IRS tea party targeting before the story broke in the news mere weeks ago. Levin declared adamantly that it is a “flat-out, bald-faced lie” that Obama didn’t know beforehand, citing prior reports by a few conservative news outlets picking up on the news well before the 2012 presidential election. Levin said, “I don’t believe for two seconds that Obama wasn’t aware of this.”

President Obama on Thursday nominated Victoria Nuland, a State Department official involved in the editing of the administration´s talking points on Benghazi, to be the next assistant secretary of state for European and Eurasian affairs. Nuland, a career foreign service officer who was until recently State´s top spokesperson, had long been expected to be nominated the post to replace Philip Gordon, who Obama picked to serve as Middle East coordinator for the National Security Council. Nuland´s nomination -- which requires Senate confirmation -- could come under scrutiny from Republicans who see her as playing a central role in shaping

What´s so interesting about 60 tea partiers protesting the IRS in San Jose, California on Tuesday, May 21st? The fact that this bit of information was conveyed to the protesters by a Department of Homeland Security officer who was also in attendance. What was a DHS agent doing at the San Jose Tea Party protest? (snip) they weren´t just spying on us in San Jose and monitoring us in San Francisco, they were watching us throughout the entire state

Anthony Weiner’s New York mayoral candidacy was only made more improbable today after he revealed that he visited a Houston psychiatric facility following his resignation from Congress in 2011. Haunted by scandal surrounding his sexually explicit online communications with women, the Democratic former congressman sought treatment for his compulsive behavior from mental health professionals at the Gabbard Center. According to its website, the facility provides “3-day outpatient psychiatric evaluation,” particularly to “professionals who are in personal or professional crises.” While Weiner did not disclose

On “Fox News Sunday” last weekend, White House aide Dan Pfeiffer was asked about President Barack Obama’s whereabouts the night of the Sept. 11 attack in Benghazi. This was the night when we lost our first ambassador in 30 years, and when three other Americans were killed in an attack that lasted all night long at multiple locations within the eastern Libyan city. Since the president is commander in chief, one would think where he was and what he did during such an event would be of obvious public concern.
