| John McCain and Lindsey Graham are on a fool´s errand. The hawkish GOP senators have launched a pre-emptive strike against Susan Rice, the U.N. ambassador, who is a contender to replace Secretary of State Hillary Clinton once Clinton quits her job as the nation´s top diplomat. With President Obama winding down the Afghanistan war over their protests, McCain, R-Ariz., and Graham, R-S.C., have now opened a domestic front against the president´s foreign policy by going after Rice. They couch their opposition to her in an overblown objection to Rice´s inaccurate characterization of the Sept. 11 attack

Comments: She told a bald face lie, over and over again. I guess pointing that out is ´war language´.

Way to go, guys! Keep it up! Let´s make sure we never get a Republican President again. She said what she was told to say. She didn´t alter the CIA report herself. It is foolish to go after her as a surrogate for Obama. If O wants her in his cabinet - LET him! Should we really care if he wants to surround himself with sycophantic fools? She can´t do any more damage than O himself...

There is a long list of reasons to oppose Rice, Benghazi is merely the cherry on top. Just in Africa, Samantha Power referred to her as a bystander to genocide during the ´94 slaughter in Rwanda. She blocks any UN action against current Rwandan President Paul Kagame, who finances and supplies Congolese terror group M23, a group that uses child soldiers. Any ally or old friend that commits atrocities is given a free pass. Democrats are not going to give her enough votes to be confirmed. She´s more fit to be Idi Amin´s wife than SOS.

Sorry #1, it does not matter what we do so we should just do the right thing.
All of us should get used to this. Notice how few white heterosexual white males have been pushed into political life on the left lateley? There haven´t been any and this column is the reason why. As long as the appointee/Spokesman/party hack is from a bona fide victims group any opposition can be labeled an ism of some sort. Racism, sexism, homophobism, anti islamiacism etc etc etc. The left has not defended any of their leaders on merit in years, only on the supposed bigotry of the right.
This is the intellectual bankruptcy of the left. Grievance group membership is the only defining force of character. The correct opinion can only be voiced by a victims group or agreed to by non victims. And in the lefty world of today there are only virtuous and angellic victims and evil disgusting bigoted republicans.

I think Rice should get the same treatment as Sarah Palin or any Conservative woman gets when up for a job. Personally, Content of character and job performance should be bench mark of hiring.
The Left cant get past skin color or boobs..

The left aways comes up with something when they are pushing an incompetent fool. It´s gender, it´s race, it´s this, it´s that. The Republicans are waging a war on (you just name it) Enough, do what is the right thing for the country. Just because the left says it doesn´t make it so, the electorate is already brain dead.

Let´s see, a woman with questionable "friends" at her U.N. job becomes Secretary of State. What conflict could arise from this 2-way conduit of information?
Do we have any guarantee of her loyalty to our country? After all, the others in the regime hate America and are engineering our demise.

Because she is democrat she is being picked on by the mean white republican men. This is the very reason that I can not stomach purchasing this trashy newpaper (USA Today). The demoncrats (male and female) trashed Sarah Palin for saying the truth. Susan Rice is a lier and imcompetent she doesn´t even deserve the position that is in now.

In 2012, blacks, women and hispanics cannot be questioned. They are Imperial doncha know? I will not vote for any woman for any office for the next 10 years, AND I am a woman. They are screwing up the country. Arabs have no respect for women, the ME is on fire, and we have had THREE wimpy ineffective women for SOS. Time for real change. America sure seemed a better place when only old, white men were running it.

Liberal women are weaklings used by liberal men. Rice, supposedly an expert on Africa, couldn´t figure out, just with common sense, that this was an al qaeda hit? Our intelligence agencies thought they could hide this fact from the American people? (going along with obama´s fairytale is aiding and abetting) Stupid rice should have wondered why SHE was the chosen one for the tv shows. Time for her to retire (perhaps MA could offer her an important job that she is unfit to do but garners a lot of money and power).

The Congress needs to go ahead and pass a law that prohibits any criticism of an African American female who holds elected or appointed office as a Democrat in any local, state or federal government.
Further, this law would prohibit any person of color from running for office as the candidate of any party other than the Democratic Party.
Finally the law will permit racist and sexist speech against a person of color so long as that person holds elected or appointed office as a Republican.

KABUL, Afghanistan -- Taliban gunmen launched a coordinated attack on an international aid group’s guesthouse in an upscale Kabul neighborhood Friday, setting off a furious firefight that lasted several hours and renewing fears of the insurgents’ ability to strike virtually at will in the heart of the capital. The late-afternoon attack took place in Kabul’s Shar-e-Naw district, home to numerous heavily fortified compounds housing international aid groups and Afghan governmental and security entities. The assault began with a powerful car bomb detonated at the gates of the guesthouse used by workers for the International Organization for Migration

The plane, which was carrying 297 passengers en route from Lahore to Manchester, was diverted to Stansted Airport in Essex, north-east of London, after the crew activated an emergency alarm. It landed just after 11:30pm on Friday (AEST). On landing, British police arrested the men, aged 30 and 41, on suspicion of endangering an aircraft. A Bronx teacher fired after a student complained about her use of a racial slur says the whole thing is just a ridiculous case of meaning lost -- literally -- in translation. Petrona Smith, 65, was a non-tenured teacher at the bilingual school PS 211 until March 2012, when she was fired after a student complained of being called "negro" and "a failure." But Smith, who is black and a native of the West Indies, said the student misunderstood her meaning: she was using the word "negro," the word for the color black in Spanish

The murder of a soldier in south London on Wednesday has prompted fears of a backlash against British Muslims after the English Defence League staged an impromptu rally in the capital and two mosques were attacked. The BNP leader, Nick Griffin, has also reacted to the killing with provocative tweets calling for a protest in Woolwich and claiming the crime is the result of "mass immigration". Farooq Murad of the Muslim Council of Britain said the EDL´s rally in London on Wednesday night was cause for concern. "When attacks like these happen there´s always the danger of far-right extremism

MOUNT VERNON, Wash. - The Interstate 5 bridge collapse into the Skagit River was caused by an oversize truck hitting the span, the Washington State Patrol chief said. "For reasons unknown at this point in time the semi struck the overhead of the bridge causing the collapse," Batiste told an overnight news conference. The truck made it off the bridge and the driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Two other vehicles went into the water Thursday evening as the structure crumbled. Three people were rescued and are recovering. Drivers should expect delays

WASHINGTON — When President Barack Obama pushed his health care overhaul plan through Congress, he counted labor unions among his strongest supporters. But some unions leaders have grown frustrated and angry about what they say are unexpected consequences of the new law — problems that they say could jeopardize the health benefits offered to millions of their members. The issue could create a political headache next year for Democrats facing re-election if disgruntled union members believe the Obama administration and Congress aren´t working to fix the problem.

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Federal forecasters are predicting yet another busy hurricane season. Thursday´s outlook calls for 13 to 20 named storms, seven to 11 that strengthen into hurricanes and three to six that become major hurricanes. The prediction by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration is more than what is considered an average Atlantic season. Last year was the third-busiest on record with 19 named storms. Ten became hurricanes and two were major storms, with winds over 111 mph. That included Sandy, which caused $50 billion in damage even though it lost

When you get right down to it, the political targeting and stalling of tax-exempt applications by the IRS was an effort to defund the Tea Party. Rick Santelli, one of the Tea Party founders and my CNBC colleague, was the first to make this point. I’ve taken it a step further: The IRS was taking the Tea Party out of play for the 2012 election, as it looked to avoid a repeat of 2010 and another Tea Party landslide. There are a lot of numbers out there.

Conservative radio host Mark Levin is very skeptical of the idea that President Obama had absolutely no idea about the IRS tea party targeting before the story broke in the news mere weeks ago. Levin declared adamantly that it is a “flat-out, bald-faced lie” that Obama didn’t know beforehand, citing prior reports by a few conservative news outlets picking up on the news well before the 2012 presidential election. Levin said, “I don’t believe for two seconds that Obama wasn’t aware of this.”

President Obama on Thursday nominated Victoria Nuland, a State Department official involved in the editing of the administration´s talking points on Benghazi, to be the next assistant secretary of state for European and Eurasian affairs. Nuland, a career foreign service officer who was until recently State´s top spokesperson, had long been expected to be nominated the post to replace Philip Gordon, who Obama picked to serve as Middle East coordinator for the National Security Council. Nuland´s nomination -- which requires Senate confirmation -- could come under scrutiny from Republicans who see her as playing a central role in shaping

What´s so interesting about 60 tea partiers protesting the IRS in San Jose, California on Tuesday, May 21st? The fact that this bit of information was conveyed to the protesters by a Department of Homeland Security officer who was also in attendance. What was a DHS agent doing at the San Jose Tea Party protest? (snip) they weren´t just spying on us in San Jose and monitoring us in San Francisco, they were watching us throughout the entire state

Anthony Weiner’s New York mayoral candidacy was only made more improbable today after he revealed that he visited a Houston psychiatric facility following his resignation from Congress in 2011. Haunted by scandal surrounding his sexually explicit online communications with women, the Democratic former congressman sought treatment for his compulsive behavior from mental health professionals at the Gabbard Center. According to its website, the facility provides “3-day outpatient psychiatric evaluation,” particularly to “professionals who are in personal or professional crises.” While Weiner did not disclose

On “Fox News Sunday” last weekend, White House aide Dan Pfeiffer was asked about President Barack Obama’s whereabouts the night of the Sept. 11 attack in Benghazi. This was the night when we lost our first ambassador in 30 years, and when three other Americans were killed in an attack that lasted all night long at multiple locations within the eastern Libyan city. Since the president is commander in chief, one would think where he was and what he did during such an event would be of obvious public concern.
