The EPA vs. State Economies

On Friday, the Environmental Protection Agency rejected petitions from the governors of Georgia, Texas, Arkansas, Delaware, Maryland, New Mexico, and North Carolina to suspend the biofuel-blending requirements established by the federal renewable fuel standard (RFS) program. This program requires refiners to blend increasing quantities of biofuel — mostly corn ethanol — into the nation’s motor-fuel supply. The 2012 target is to blend 13.2 billion gallons of biofuel into our gasoline, a quantity that ratchets up to 13.8 billion gallons in 2013. This year, about 4.7 billion bushels, or 40 percent of the nation’s corn crop,

Still clinging to their lack of guns and religion of the whacko´s. Using 1 gallon of petroleum fuel to make 1 gallon of reduced energy alchol which also includes a bushel of food stock is ludicrous. Although it was not EPA´s stupid edict that created this fiasco, congress is to blame for that.
While we endure increased food and energy prices, the government and it´s agencies continue a pathway to destruction. Will we soon arrive at food emergencies?

Around here apples are $2.00/lb and higher, recently out of season. The only folks who can afford to eat are the folks on Food Stamps.

And the current Speak of the House HAS NOT directed his folks to defund the EPA. Sad, so very sad....

So because of our "silly laws", we have to use a fuel that is less efficient and so you have to buy more of it, costs more, and starves people!

I sent this to my Congressman. I would suggest everyone else sending something similar.

The EPA is not permitting Texas to reduce the wasteful ethanol rules, so defund them. Cut their budget in half. You will not be able to pass a law limiting the EPA´s authority due to the Senate and Obama, so do what the House is constitutionally mandated to do; cut the purse strings.

Also, it is a foregone conclusion that Boehner will cave into whatever the democrats want with the "fiscal cliff" taxes. Please do whatever you can to minimize his cave-in. Too bad the House could not elect a real Speaker (such as yourself) that would protect the citizens against an intrusive, increasingly socialistic government.

EPA, a true enemy of the USA.

Like it or not, the United States feeds a very large portion of the world from our abundance. Four years ago, when Zippy issued an executive order requiring an increase in ethenol in our automotive fuel production, it caused a world wide famine, effecting Africa the worst. We no longer had an excess of corn because we were burning it in gasoline. We didn´t need to, but Zippy insisted on implementing his idiological energy program. He won´t allow drilling and he won´t allow the Keystone pipeline. He doesn´t give a rats rear end about the poor at home or in Africa. He only uses them in sound bites to shill his Marxist policies to a fawning media. And the GOP has blinders on. They won´t even bother to let the public know the facts about this debackle. Bohenor will just roll over like he always does.

#7. You are assuming that Obama does not want famine throughout the 3rd world. He might actually welcome it since it produced his Arab Spring.

The EPA, along with the Salazar´s Interior Department, and others, is being purposely destructive to our economy, as part of Obama´s desire to minimize America´s strength in the world.

The refiners need to tell the EPA to stuff it, or PAY high fees to implment and support! I certainly WOULD NOT absorb the costs!

Problem is all environmental groups and politicians are on the take from energy producers.
Some of them are for the money and power (russkis and cheves) some are for money and Islam, it makes no difference.
Like KGB was funding communists around the world now Saudis are funding Islamist and enviro groups.
Rest of the western world are idiots building useless windmills and even more idiotic solar panels.

Eric Holder versus journalism

Attorney General Eric Holder personally signed off on the warrant naming Fox News journalist James Rosen a “possible co-conspirator” in violation of the Espionage Act, Michael Isikoff reported yesterday. Which is sort of awkward, because Barack Obama also yesterday told the country (the whole country) that he didn’t want to criminalize reporting, and that he was going to ask his Justice Department to make sure not to do that anymore. Rosen wasn’t charged. In truth, the government never really intended on charging him. (Snip)That’s the scandal: That the government could charge a journalist with, effectively, spying, simply for reporting.

Of all the scandals in his administration that President Obama knows nothing about, the one Americans find most appalling is the decision by the Internal Revenue Service to target the president’s political adversaries. What’s more, as subsequent congressional testimony has made clear, the IRS isn’t particularly repentant about its actions. One thing Republicans and Democrats should therefore be able to agree on is that this is no time to significantly expand the IRS’s power. Yet that is exactly what will happen under Obamacare if no action is taken. A simple proposal: Remove the IRS from any role

Rookie Florida Senator Marco Rubio continues to work tirelessly to get the United States to annex Mexico, though an exhaustive (and exhausting) search of his 2010 election campaign reveals no promises to do, nor even a mention that he might consider doing such an outlandish thing. Au the contraire, the pre-election Rubio said all the right things about line-cutters and lawbreakers. That’s one of the reasons he’s a senator today. There are only two sure consequences of the current 800-page immigration hairball before Congress. The first is that a minimum of 11 million citizens of other countries, more Mexicans

President Obama dreamily wants

President Obama declared on Thursday that it’s time for the U.S. to leave behind the global war on terror. He might first try convincing America’s war-waging global enemies to do the same. Almost a dozen years after 9/11, the President wishfully hopes to demilitarize national security in the age of Islamist radicalism. He judges the country ready for such a step because a long fight has markedly degraded the attacking capacities of Al Qaeda and affiliates. Even so, Obama dared not utter the word victory in his address at the National Defense University, because plainly the hostiles are still coming

In a strange true-life story that seems ripped from TV crime drama (rather than the other way around), a New York City man was kidnapped and held for ransom for over a month, before the NYPD rescued him this week. Pedro Portugal was grabbed off the street in broad daylight on April 18, and held hostage in a Queens warehouse (pictured above) while a group of men attempted to extract a $3 million ransom from his family in Ecuador. Police in both countries (with the help of the State Department) tracked down the kidnappers,

WASHINGTON —In a dramatic departure from existing White House procedures, President Obama requested today that his staff start cc’ing him on stuff. “Look, I know a lot of you think I’m really busy and you don’t want to bother me,” the President reportedly told his staff in an Oval Office meeting. “But cc me anyway. It’s good for me to keep up on what’s going on around here.” “It’s not good when I turn on the news and they’re talking about something at the White House and I’m like, whoa, when did that happen?”

Amid catcalls from a Leftist heckler too blitheringly stupid to understand her dream was coming true, President Obama yesterday declared his intention to end the War on Terror — not quite 12 years since the 9/11 attacks. In what may have been the most important speech of his presidency, Obama said he would ask Congress to join him in efforts to “refine, and ultimately repeal,” the Authorization to Use Military Force passed three days after 9/11. In other words, he intends to write the War on Terror out of US law. “This war, like all wars, must end,” he said.

The public got its first look Thursday at Lois Lerner, who has gone from faceless IRS bureaucrat to the face that launched what feels like 1,000 congressional hearings and conspiracy theories. But it was only a brief sighting since she didn´t stay long at a House hearing to further probe her role in how some IRS workers came to target conservative groups seeking tax-exempt status. (Snip)She did make a short statement to declare her innocence, however. Lerner´s motivation was more transparent than much of what the IRS has done in connection with this controversy. When you get right down to it, the political targeting and stalling of tax-exempt applications by the IRS was an effort to defund the Tea Party. Rick Santelli, one of the Tea Party founders and my CNBC colleague, was the first to make this point. I’ve taken it a step further: The IRS was taking the Tea Party out of play for the 2012 election, as it looked to avoid a repeat of 2010 and another Tea Party landslide. There are a lot of numbers out there.

President Obama on Thursday nominated Victoria Nuland, a State Department official involved in the editing of the administration´s talking points on Benghazi, to be the next assistant secretary of state for European and Eurasian affairs. Nuland, a career foreign service officer who was until recently State´s top spokesperson, had long been expected to be nominated the post to replace Philip Gordon, who Obama picked to serve as Middle East coordinator for the National Security Council. Nuland´s nomination -- which requires Senate confirmation -- could come under scrutiny from Republicans who see her as playing a central role in shaping

Conservative radio host Mark Levin is very skeptical of the idea that President Obama had absolutely no idea about the IRS tea party targeting before the story broke in the news mere weeks ago. Levin declared adamantly that it is a “flat-out, bald-faced lie” that Obama didn’t know beforehand, citing prior reports by a few conservative news outlets picking up on the news well before the 2012 presidential election. Levin said, “I don’t believe for two seconds that Obama wasn’t aware of this.”

Anthony Weiner’s New York mayoral candidacy was only made more improbable today after he revealed that he visited a Houston psychiatric facility following his resignation from Congress in 2011. Haunted by scandal surrounding his sexually explicit online communications with women, the Democratic former congressman sought treatment for his compulsive behavior from mental health professionals at the Gabbard Center. According to its website, the facility provides “3-day outpatient psychiatric evaluation,” particularly to “professionals who are in personal or professional crises.” While Weiner did not disclose
