Obama warns against ´ramping up´
in Gaza crisis

Associated Press, by JIM KUHNHENN

BANGKOK -- President Barack Obama said Sunday an incursion by Israel´s forces into the Gaza Strip could only deepen its death toll, cautioning against an escalation even as he defended the Jewish state´s right to defend itself. Obama also warned Palestinians the crisis could crush peace hopes for years. "Israel has every right to expect that it does not have missiles fired into its territory," Obama said at the start of a three-nation tour in Asia.

As I recall Kuhnhenn has been a dutiful, compliant reporter of all things Obama since before the 2008 election.

This could have been put out by the White House.

Maybe it was.

No real journalism going on here.

Obama´s enmity toward Israel caused this latest Hamas attack. Once he was re-elected they thought they had a free hand.

Israel may be staging troops to clean out the Gaza Strip now that the rockets are reaching Tel Aviv.

FTA: "Israel is at a crossroads of whether to launch a ground invasion or pursue Egyptian-led truce efforts."

´´Egyptian-led truce efforts," for those of you in Rio Linda, is a true oxymoron. And, only a moron would believe that the current Egyptian government, run by the terrorist organization and true friend of Hamas, want peace in the area. What they want is not to cede any land or ´´leaders´´ KIA to the Israelis.

FTA: ""If that can be accomplished without a ramping up of military activity in Gaza, that´s preferable," he said."

0bama seems to believe that wars are fought from the air and not on the ground. The Israelis know better.

Just words - and too little, too late.

Obama and his administration are responsible for this escalation of violence, including the attack and murders in Benghazi, and the horrific violence that is this very instant coming down the tracks aimed at Americans, American allies, and American interests. Our enemies have been persistently coached and comforted and led to believe that they have nothing whatever to fear from us but words. Obama thinks words will do the job against foreign adversaries. All he has ever done is talk, and it has worked for him to persuade millions of American dopes to vote for him, so perhaps it is understandable that he thinks he can talk his way through what is going on in the Middle East now.

And,with that announcement, the Israeli´s get down to business and begin their march into gaza.

Guess if the USA doesn´t have Israel´s back, it also can´t reign Israel in.

As for our enemies thoughts, I´m sure they are thinking that if the USA can sit and watch their(our)own people be slaughtered over a nine hour stretch and order nothing be done (it had to be an order), they assume the USA will do nothing for it´s allies.

A two-decades-old battle between a Nevada rancher and the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) has resulted in officials armed with machine guns surrounding the ranch and forcibly removing the owner’s cattle, according to the rancher’s family. Mitch McConnell strode out onto the stage at the Conservative Political Action Conference on Thursday morning, packing heat. The Senate Minority Leader finds himself in an odd position at CPAC. For one, he´s the Republican leader in the Senate and stands to take over as the majority leader next year if some of the audience´s favored candidates win control of blue seats in November. But McConnell is also a five-term senator whose career has largely been characterized by the kind of earmarking that conservatives did away with following the tea-party wave of 2010. And he´s facing a challenge from a

President Barack Obama will sharply cut ships, aircraft, and troops as part of a major reduction of U.S. military forces that will face even steeper downsizing in 2016, Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel announced on Monday. The defense cuts, to be announced formally in the president’s budget proposal next month, would reduce U.S. ground forces to their lowest level since World War II at a time when world threats are increasing. The defense secretary outlined the dramatic reductions in a briefing for reporters at the Pentagon. They include significant cuts in Navy shipbuilding and Air Force aircraft purchases, and a 20

I thank my friend Reid Smith for his kind response to my recent op-ed on libertarians and Mitch McConnell. But I think he and some others are overstating what I’m arguing here, perhaps understandably because effective headlines are not nuanced. I’m not saying McConnell is better on an issue-by-issue basis than his primary challenger, Matt Bevin. I don’t think that, in fact. I’m not even saying people should necessarily vote for McConnell over Bevin, though I’m not terribly impressed with the latter and think the former is the least bad of the big five GOP leaders in Congress.

Senator Ted Cruz is a hero in some Republican circles -- and the opposite among many of his Senate Republican colleagues.(sn)However unjustified Senator Cruz´s actions, the very fact that a freshman Senator can so quickly gain so many supporters, with so much enthusiasm, ought to be a loud warning to the Republican establishment that they have long been a huge disappointment to a wide range of Republican voters and supporters. One of their most maddening qualities has for decades been their can´t-be-bothered attitude

Some supporters of President Obama may be worried about how he and the Democrats are going to fare politically, as the problems of ObamaCare continue to escalate, and it looks like the Republicans have a chance to win a majority in the Senate. But Democrats may not need to worry so much. Republicans may once again come to the rescue of the Democrats, by discrediting themselves and snatching defeat from the very jaws of victory. The latest bright idea among Republicans inside the Beltway is a new version of amnesty

Like him or hate him, there is no disputing that Rush Limbaugh’s very special brand of mixing right-wing politics with his flare for entertainment has produced one of the most successful radio programs in the medium’s long history. After presenting at the Academy Awards this year, Kim Novak didn’t want to leave her house. The Hitchcock screen siren, 81, was too humiliated to venture from her home near the Rogue River in Oregon. She read the cruel posts and Internet snark about her appearance, and it was just too much. “It got to me like it gets kids and teenagers,” she told the Associated Press. When it comes to tracking the cost of Obama family vacations, there are two primary challenges. First, the Obamas are prolific jet-setters, so there are many details to track. Second, the Obama administration, clearly embarrassed by these lavish and frequent family vacations, stonewalls the release of records at every turn. But we have been relentless in pursuit of this information. Our attorneys file the lawsuits and make our case, and our investigators pour through pages of records and crunch the numbers. And the information we’ve uncovered – information that would otherwise remain under lock and key – shows that the

I am of course referring to the Bundy Ranch siege. This was a dispute between a Nevada ranching family with rights to the land in question for 140 years and the BLM (Bureayu of Land Management). The government claims they haven’t paid grazing fees for 20 years. The result was a government assault on the ranch- including snipers with assault rifles, SUV’s, helicopters, airplanes and over 200 heavily armed troops. No

President Obama addressed the White House press corps today, announcing that with the final numbers in, Obamacare´s exchanges have attracted eight million sign-ups -- 35 percent of whom are "under the age of 35," he said. Several elements of his comments were misleading: (1) At first blush, the 35 percent stat is both significant and impressive. As recently as last month, the share of "young invincibles" signing up for plans was struggling in the 25 percent range, far short of the actuarial target of nearly 40 percent. A leap into the mid-30´s, while still shy of the goal, would constitute a major step, and would bode well for the risk pools'

It’s the stuff of Westerns: a showdown on the desert plains, the big bad government against an underdog farmer. Though the story has only grabbed national headlines in the past several days, rancher Cliven Bundy has illegally grazed cattle on the Nevada land surrounding his farm for over 20 years. He hasn’t paid grazing fees since 1993, and refuses to renew the necessary grazing permit.(Snip)Rather than using the avenues and pathways presented to him, Bundy has staunchly declared his own law and allegiances. Unfortunately, reality doesn’t work this way. If only it did—we could rebel for paying stupid taxes, refuse to
