Israel´s ambassador to the U.S. Michael Oren deleted a tweet on Saturday which claimed the Israeli government is willing to sit and talk with Hamas if the barrage of rockets from Gaza stops, the website BuzzFeed.com reported. The original tweet read: "Just appeared on the set of #CNN: #Israel willing to sit down with #Hamas -- if they just stop shooting at us." A short while later Oren twitted again: "Correction: the earlier tweet about my CNN interview was sent erroneously by a staffer." According to the BuzzFeed report, "the deleted tweet Oren attributed to a staffer appeared to be a paraphrase

Comments:
You´ve just got to ask yourself, ´´Who exactly controls your ´´tweeter,´´ Mr. Oren?" I thought this could only be done with one´s own cellphone. Either way, who´s running the show at the UN? This is how wars are started...

Our ambassador doesn´t seem to be overly bright. I think it goes without saying that Israel would like to have Hamas stop sending rockets into the country and that Israel does not attack any country that is not shooting at her.

NYT’s David Brooks: Obama has
‘manhood problem’ in Middle East
Washington Times, by Jessica Chasmar    Original Article

New York Times columnist David Brooks said Sunday that he believes President Obama’s foreign policy isn’t “tough enough” and that he has a “manhood problem” when it comes to dealing with leaders such as Russian President Vladimir Putin and Syrian President Bashar Assad. Mr. Brooks expanded on Sen. Bob Corker’s earlier comments on “Fox News Sunday” that Mr. Obama is “creating an air of permissiveness” with regards to Russia. (Snip) “And let’s face it, Obama, whether deservedly or not, does have a — I’ll say it crudely — but a manhood problem in the Middle East,” he continued.

Sunday on CNN´s "Reliable Sources," host Brian Stelter was very critical of former CBS correspondent Sharyl Attkisson´s reporting skills because she has spoken about her experience at CBS News where she witnessed as a common practice the killing of stories unfriendly to the Obama administration. (Snip) Attkisson: I do think, again, that's a campaign by those who really want to controversialize the reporting. I do so you wouldn't listen to it, because if people took the few minutes to do a Google search, you would see the dozens and dozens of stories. I've done that were, in many cases, complemented by liberal press and other liberal as being a

Rubin "Hurricane" Carter, the middleweight boxing contender who spent 19 years in prison after being wrongly convicted of a triple murder, has died in Toronto, according to Win Wahrer, the director of client services for the Association in Defence of the Wrongly Convicted. Carter, 76, died of complications from prostate cancer, Wahrer said. "I always remember spending hours and hours with Rubin talking about the wrongful convictions," she told CNN. "He was a great mentor and teacher. I felt very fortunate to have those times with him. ... He lived a very full life." Carter spent 19 years in prison for a triple killing in

Ex-death row inmate Anthony Porter
angry, feels ‘cheated’ out of money

Anthony Porter is angry. He’s come within hours of being executed after he was convicted of killing two people. He was freed from Death Row after another man, Alstory Simon, confessed to the murders. He got a pardon, but he didn’t get a dime when he sued the city and the cops for framing him. And now, there’s a serious push to strip away what little Porter has left: his claim of innocence. Attorneys pushing for Simon’s release from prison say the justice system got it right the first time — that the evidence points to Porter all along in the notorious double murder in 1982 at a South Side park.

Average credit card interest

Credit card companies know there’s no free lunch, but they’re letting more customers get a taste as an enticement by gouging their existing card members. The average credit card interest rate for people with fair credit has hit a shocking 21 percent, up more than 2 percent from only a year ago, according to industry group CardHub. Credit card companies, which attract new customers with zero percent teaser rates and more rewards, have raised rates while their costs remain historically low, industry observers say. “Credit card interest rates were higher across the board during the first three months of 2014 relative to the same period last year,”

Before taxpayers lost $529 million on solar energy company Solyndra and $10.5 billion on GM, the US government had a long history of backing the wrong horse. Many of the great industries in US history — from the fur trade to steamships, railroads, chemicals and airplanes — failed in the hands of government but succeeded thanks to private entrepreneurs. A closer reading of American history may have avoided the colossal mistake of President Obama’s $700 billion stimulus bill. The government has learned over and over again that when it comes to business, it’s a terrible boss. Here are a few examples to keep in mind the next time you

The White House is going to war with another fox — and this time, it’s personal. The Wall Street Journal reports that a red fox has been causing chaos around the White House, tripping security alarms, digging up Michelle’s garden and distracting the president from his duties. The Secret Service won’t give any details about how often the fox trips the White House’s obviously sophisticated security alarms, but rest assured, officials say, they’re watching. President Obama was apparently “stunned” to see the fox roaming freely down the oft-photographed White House colonnade, home to the world’s shortest, but most dramatic, outdoor strolls. For Hillary Clinton, having her own baby grandchild to kiss on the campaign trail, could be one of the biggest boosts to her possible presidential election campaign. Although the former Secretary of State and First Lady has not said if she will run in 2016, the arrival of her first grandchild will soften her image, analysts have said. While Chelsea only revealed her pregnancy on Thursday, supporters of her mother have already started cooing over a possible baby in the White House. With the Clintons having a near-royal status in the U.S., the announcement of a new arrival due this fall has sent

GREENSBORO, Ga. — Golf holes the size of pizzas. Soccer balls on the back nine. A mulligan on every hole. These are some of the measures — some would say gimmicks — that golf courses across the country have experimented with to stop people from quitting the game. Golf has always reveled in its standards and rich tradition. But increasingly a victim of its own image and hidebound ways, golf has lost five million players in the last decade, according to the National Golf Foundation, with 20 percent of the existing 25 million golfers apt to quit in the next few years. People under 35 have especially spurned the game, saying it takes too

That was quite a victory dance President Obama did Thursday while claiming Obamacare is “working” because eight million people have now supposedly signed up for the health care program. He even indulged in some less-than-subtle mockery of Republicans - and by extension the majority of Americans who have disapproved of Obamacare since before it became law. "The repeal debate is and should be over,” Obama said, taking a dig at Republicans who are “going through, you know, the stages of grief … anger and denial and all that stuff …” But a president who is viewed by most Americans as less

Hi, everybody. For millions of Americans, this time of year holds great meaning. Earlier this week, we hosted a Passover Seder at the White House, and joined Jewish families around the world in their re-tellings of the story of the Exodus and the victory of faith over oppression. And this Sunday, Michelle, Malia, Sasha, and I will join our fellow Christians around the world in celebrating the Resurrection of Christ, the salvation he offered the world, and the hope that comes with the Easter season. These holy days have their roots in miracles that took place long ago. And yet, they still inspire us, guide us, and strengthen us today. They remind us of our

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said Thursday that a family of dissident ranchers and their supporters in his home state of Nevada are ´domestic terrorists,´ citing this week´s standoff with the federal government´s Bureau of Land Management. Cliven Bundy has refused to pay grazing fees for land where his hundreds of cattle roam every day. The land is owned by the federal government, which says he owes more than $1 million. Bundy, however, insists that since his family has been using the land since the 1870s, Uncle Sam can´t collect the grazing fees. A tense standoff developed this week after
