| Ahmed Al-Jabari — the strongman of Hamas, the head of its military wing, the man responsible for the abduction of the Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit — was assassinated on Wednesday by Israeli missiles. Why? Israel’s government has declared that the aim of the current strikes against Gaza is to rebuild deterrence so that no rockets will be fired on Israel. (Snip) I believe that Israel made a grave and irresponsible strategic error by deciding to kill Mr. Jabari. No, Mr. Jabari was not a man of peace; he didn’t believe in peace with Israel and refused to have any direct contact with Israeli leaders
|
Comments: This was a well-written article by a typical NY Times person who sounded like he was suffering from ´´Stockholm Syndrome´´ when dealing with Ahmed Al-Jabari. In a feeble attempt to ´´humanize" a serial killer of woman & children, he refers to him throughout the article as "Mr. Jabari." Obviously, Hamas has no real control of other terrorist operating in Gaza City [so they say]. So Israel did what a sane country being fired upon does. Strike back swiftly & hard.

When I was young I worried that recognizing evil would be difficult. Back in the 70´s and 80´s it may have been - but today, one´s conscience would have to be seared with a hot iron not to see the evil residing at the NYT and the White House.

Israel´s always supposed to grin and bear it. Otherwise, they might provoke those who are murdering them to murder even more vigorously.

Hamas is manufacturing missiles inside Gaza. Long range missiles. They were likely the missiles fired at Tel Aviv. Sorry Professor there has been a shift, land for peace is no more. Kill for peace is where we are. Hamas must be brought to it´s knees. They can either live in peace with Israel or find a new place to live. Netanyahu can´t fail.

There´s no negotiating with Hamas, which made up of people so twisted with hatred, that they use their children as shields.

No, he was not “assassinated”. He was well and righteously executed.

Apparently Mr. Baskin missed the fine point seen at Jabari´s funeral. Not one Hamas leader dared rear his smelly head! Talk about having to ´lead from behind!´ These guys are being forced to lead from in hiding! Never a strong tactic for a leader to have to hide. Israel did the exact right thing. This time, when Hamas wants a ´cease-fire,´ (hudna) I hope Israel refuses to allow them to re-arm.

Good point, what does the Slimes have to say about Obama´s countless assassinations? The Slimes has actually reported on how Obama picks his victims, that he spends a great deal of time picking each one out.

You do not reason with or negotiate with rabid dogs. They are shot at first opportunity.
With a couple extra slugs put into the carcass just to make sure.
But don´t use up all the ammunition. There are lots more rabid dogs out there.

Another man who does nor understand how the world works and how human beings actually think and behave - who prefers his fantasy world to the often ugly and dangerous one in which he and the rest of us actually live. One of the problems is that people like him are easy to manipulate by their enemies, who just tell them what they want to hear and encourage them to believe their fantasies represent reality, meanwhile pursuing whatever plans and objectives they have previously determined upon. There might be something wrong with the brains of such naifs and innocents, for they never seem to learn from experience that their wishful thinking is nothing but a product of their own imaginations.

Phoenix - Jurors who spent five months determining Jodi Arias´ fate couldn´t decide whether she should get life in prison or die for murdering her boyfriend, sending prosecutors back to the drawing board to rehash the shocking case of sex, lies and violence to another 12 people. Judge Sherry Stephens gave a heavy sigh as she announced a mistrial in the penalty phase of the case Thursday and scheduled a July 18 retrial. "This was not your typical trial," she told jurors. "You were asked to perform some very difficult duties." As the panel filed out of the courtroom,

Spanish engineers, who already spent some $680 million on designing the new generation S-80 class submarine, say it is a major “technical innovation.” There is just one problem the calculations show – if submerged into water, it may never come up again. The Spanish media has been furiously discussing the errors made by the state-owned Navantia construction company, which has spent about a third of the huge $2.2 billion budget only to produce an ‘overweight’ submarine that is not able to float. Spain’s Ministry of Defense has confirmed that Navantia detected “deviations”

“He was not radical at all,” Taramov told WESH-TV. He added that the FBI had been tracking Todashev since the Boston bombings. At some point, Todashev moved to Florida. He was arrested for aggravated battery this month, according to police records, after getting into a fight with a man in a parking lot. When the FBI agent and others arrived at his apartment early Wednesday, the law enforcement officials said Todashev initially was cooperative. They said he appeared on the verge of signing a confession to the killings of three people in Waltham in September 2011.

Jerusalem - Israel´s air force chief says his troops need to be ready to act quickly in case of an attack from Syria. The remarks by Maj. Gen. Amir Eshel Wednesday echo statements by Israel´s military chief of staff a day earlier. Eshel warned escalation could lead to a "surprise war." He said Russian S-300 air defense systems are "on their way" to Syria, though Israel asked Russia not to supply them. Israel is concerned the Syrian civil war could spill across its border. Syrian and Israeli forces briefly exchanged fire on the Golan Heights border Tuesday. Israel has warned it will not tolerate fire from Syria

Amman, Jordan — The United States and its Arab and European allies will step up their support for Syria´s opposition to help them "fight for the freedom of their country" if President Bashar Assad´s regime doesn´t engage in peace talks in good faith, U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry vowed Wednesday. Kerry allowed that President Barack Obama won´t send American troops to Syria. But he made clear that more aid to the rebels would be coming if the effort fails. The man shot dead by an FBI agent in Orlando, Florida early today was "about to sign a statement" admitting to a role, along with Boston Marathon bombing suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev, in an unsolved triple murder in Massachusetts in 2011, two people with direct knowledge of the case told ABC News. Ibragim Todashev "just went crazy," and pulled a knife during his interview with the FBI, said state and federal law enforcement officials briefed on the latest strange twist in the investigation of the Boston Marathon bombing. One official said an FBI agent was stabbed several times,

An 18-year-old Florida student’s senior year has become a nightmare — all because she was in a same-sex relationship with a 15-year-old, her family says. Kaitlyn Hunt was arrested Feb. 16 for having a physical relationship with a younger classmate, who was her girlfriend at the time, mom Kelley Hunt Smith wrote on Facebook. Under Florida law, Hunt could see up to 15 years in prison and must register as a sex offender. A plea deal, however, remains on the table that would give Hunt two years´ house arrest and one year of probation, her family said. “Does my daughter deserve to lose her life for

Former Rep. I’m running for mayor because I’ve been fighting for the middle class and those struggling to make it for my entire life.

The dam protecting the IRS scandal began to crack today when Lois Lerner, the IRS official who announced, and apologized for, the improper singling out of conservative-leaning organizations by IRS employees under her command, announced through her criminal defense lawyer that she will not testify as scheduled tomorrow before the House Oversight Committee. Rather, she will assert her Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination. This marks an enormous milestone in the IRS investigation. It can now be taken as more or less established that crimes were committed by Obama administration employees. Lerner’s lawyer tried to minimize the significance

The public got its first look Thursday at Lois Lerner, who has gone from faceless IRS bureaucrat to the face that launched what feels like 1,000 congressional hearings and conspiracy theories. But it was only a brief sighting since she didn´t stay long at a House hearing to further probe her role in how some IRS workers came to target conservative groups seeking tax-exempt status. (Snip)She did make a short statement to declare her innocence, however. Lerner´s motivation was more transparent than much of what the IRS has done in connection with this controversy. She was determined to

When you get right down to it, the political targeting and stalling of tax-exempt applications by the IRS was an effort to defund the Tea Party. Rick Santelli, one of the Tea Party founders and my CNBC colleague, was the first to make this point. I’ve taken it a step further: The IRS was taking the Tea Party out of play for the 2012 election, as it looked to avoid a repeat of 2010 and another Tea Party landslide. There are a lot of numbers out there.
