WASHINGTON — An Obama administration official says a Tampa Bay socialite whose emails triggered the eventual downfall of CIA director David Petraeus visited the White House three times this year with her sister, twice eating in the Executive Mansion mess. The official says that Jill Kelley, who initiated an investigation that ultimately unveiled Petraeus’ extramarital affair, and her sister had two “courtesy” meals at the White House mess as guests of a mid-level White House aide. Kelley and her family also received a White House tour. The visits occurred during the past three months. The official spoke on condition of anonymity

Well, whoop=dee=do. I´ve visted the White House -- as part of a tour. So what? This whole sex scandal is the "circus" part of "Bread and Circuses."

She is Lebanese born.
Is she funneling info to our enemies about Americas top brass and our Special Operations forces?
What are two generals doing getting involved in a child custody dispute?
Way too familiar.

Note to the AP: Isn´t the word you were looking for SOCIALITE??? Not socialist...but then again if they are associating with Obama they might be socialists; somehow I doubt the AP would know the difference.

There is no story here. Keep on the scandal.

Example: A close friend has visited the White House 4 times in last 12 months. None of the visits involved meeting anybody having anything to do with politics, government or policy.

She is apolitical and works for Pentagon. It is not uncommon for people like her who are related to government service to get invites to things like "WH Twilight Garden Tour", Bowling at WH. The invites have usually been considered a nice perk and reward. They are wholly inocuous, involve othing other than a semi exclusive tour or pass to a public space (like the mess.)

I read elsewhere on the net today that this socialite is a front for the Muslim Brotherhood doing ´outreach´ to the military via parties, etc. The AP will never print this I´m sure.

Much bigger story leaked today is that Mrs. P is being employed by the administration in a job that pays hundreds of thousands in cash and enefits. Part and parcel of the looting of the US taxpayer (those few that are left)

This entire story is remindfull of the social reality in Singapore, that bastion of Brit social strata, pre-WW2.

All incoming Brit officers were vetted for social acceptability by women of a certain standing. Those judged ill-suited were run off, leaving the military with a surplus of socially acceptable officer-twits when the Japanese attacked. That is how the under-manned Japanese were able to beat the Brits in short order, even though the Brits had East Indian and Australian troops available, troops that always gave a good account of themselves with any kind of leadership.

Is Pretaeus our General "Rabbit" Percival?
Must we get our butts kicked like the Brits did, before Russia and America bailed them out?

The Mess is not a "public place". It is a formal (white linen/WH china) dining room that you can only go to with higher level people at the WH. The Mess name comes from the fact that it is run by the Navy. It is in the West Wing.

Excuse me. My use of Mess and Public Place in a sentence did not mean to imply the public can walk in nor that lacks a great deal of cachet amongst the hoi polloi. It was meant to state that it is not likely to be chosen as a spot for a nefarious or secret rendezvous. The crux of the whe headline and buzz is misleading in that it implies the sisters had some sort of extremely high level entree that could, in turn, imply there is something to this baloney. There is a real scandal and this is a side show.

This hussy is not your average White House tourist.
She brags in e-mails to reporters about her friends in the Administration.
She brags about being appointed to this and that.
Her special positions ,if you will.
Here´s the most telling part.
She squealed her delight that Barry was re-elected.
No one who respects the military and all the sacrifices the members have made,
including the ultimate sacrifice , could be
happy that Barry will have another four years in which he can further degrade and destroy our military.
I think she is Tampa Rose.

Tampa Rose is right. This woman was not a Tampa socialite until someone in the state dept. bestowed honors to her, which also enabled her to enter the base. The fact that she volunteered to insert herself in the 2 Koran controversies in FL, the preacher who wanted to burn one & a radio host who wanted to fry one.... is also telling.

This Lebanese woman is working with the WH & the state dept. gave her the credentials to worm her way in. I suspect Broadwell discovered the Kelly mission & the threatening emails had to do with her spy mission, not jealousy.

A defiant witness left a Detroit courtroom in handcuffs Monday, after a tense hearing that found sufficient evidence to send three men to trial in the mob beating of 54-year-old Steve Utash near an east-side gas station. A fourth man waived his right to the hearing and will also stand trial. Wearing yellow jumpsuits, the three defendants sat handcuffed to one another: Latrez Cummings, 19; James Davis, 24, and Wonzey Saffold, 30, who showed his middle finger to a group of news cameras. Each of the three confessed to kicking Utash of Clinton Township at least once, according to their

LITTLE FALLS, Minn. — A Minnesota man on trial for killing two teenagers after they broke into his house had planned the killings, and was lying in wait in his basement with a book, some snacks and two guns, prosecutors said Monday. But a defense attorney countered that his client was terrified after several increasingly violent break-ins and hid after hearing a window break and footsteps upstairs. Byron Smith, 65, of Little Falls, is charged with first-degree premeditated murder in the slayings of 17-year-old Nick Brady and 18-year-old Haile Kifer on Thanksgiving Day in 2012. The killings rocked the small

MONROE, La. — In a matter of days, Republican Vance McAllister has gone from being the unlikely congressman — a special election winner who trounced his party´s establishment candidate — to the "kissing congressman," a faith-and-family politician caught on video embracing an aide married to one of his friends. Amid some calls for his resignation, he has said he will respect the verdict of his constituents this fall. Residents interviewed here by The Associated Press expressed disappointment, but not surprise.

HUNTSVILLE, Texas — A serial killer was put to death Thursday in Texas after the U.S. Supreme Court rejected his lawyers’ demand that the state release information about where it gets its lethal injection drug. Tommy Lynn Sells, 49, was the first inmate to be injected with a dose of newly replenished pentobarbital that Texas prison officials obtained to replace an expired supply of the powerful sedative. Sells declined to give a statement. As the drug began flowing into his arms inside the death chamber in Huntsville, Sells took a few breaths, his eyes closed and he began to snore.

PITTSBURGH – A 5-year-old bows her head at lunch to say Grace before she eats may be considered cute and heartwarming by some. That was not the case for a student in Florida. The young girl was told by a school lunchroom supervisor that her actions were wrong. The girl’s father, Marcos Perez, is outraged to the point where he is considering homeschooling his child. Today, the Liberty Institute sent a letter to the school administrators demanding they stop allowing religious discrimination, which is in violation of not only state, but federal law. The school denies the incident.

ESPN commentator Stephen A. Smith appeared on Arsenio Hall and gave a stirring commentary regarding L.A. Lakers basketball player Kobe Bryant’s unorthodox comments on why he wouldn’t want to wear a hoodie in honor of slain young black man Trayvon Martin. On the night of February 26, 2012, the 17-year-old Martin was killed by “white Hispanic” George Zimmerman after an altercation; after a jury acquitted Zimmerman in July of 2013 on manslaughter charges, it ignited a public outrage in many communities across the nation.

The Obama administration is poised to entertain a flood of new clemency applications from thousands of federal prisoners who were given harsh sentences under mandatory-minimum laws following drug convictions, Attorney General Eric Holder said Monday. Holder said in a short videotaped statement that he wants to shrink the federal prison population by a modest amount while ensuring ´that those who have paid their debts have a chance to become productive citizens.´ At the center of the move is a set of old sentencing rules that punished crack-cocaine offenders with more time behind bars than users or traffickers of powder cocaine.

Former Sen. Bob Dole (R-Kan.) said a number of junior GOP senators considering a presidential run in 2016 do not yet have the experience — specifically naming Rand Paul (Ky.), Marco Rubio (Fla.) and Ted Cruz (Texas). The former 1996 GOP presidential candidate sounded particularly skeptical of Cruz in an interview this week with The Wichita Eagle. "A number of the younger members, first-termers like Rand Paul, Rubio and that extreme-right-wing guy, Ted Cruz — all running for president now. I don´t think they´ve got enough experience yet," Dole said. The 90-year-old former senator said, however, his main concern about 2016 is living

If Jeb reaches for the nomination, there will be a titanic battle between the party establishment and the Tea Party. Steve Schmidt, McCain’s strategist in 2008, insists that in the end Republicans usually settle on the most electable candidate. To get by, this Bush may be forced to trim his positions, although the cautionary tale of Romney suggests that he would have to tack artfully and carefully for the sake of the general election. Certainly he will have the resources to outlast, discredit, and disqualify his rivals.

Washington - Michelle Obama said "splurging is the key to life" if you regularly eat right and stay active. Her biggest guilty pleasure: French fries. "How would you appreciate vegetables if you never had chocolate?" she asked. "You couldn´t live without a little chocolate, a little French fries." The first lady took questions from children reporters Monday after appearing at the White House Easter Egg Roll. She told the children that if they eat right the majority of the time, then a splurge or snack is not going to hurt them. "I still splurge when I can, but that's why I try to exercise almost every day," she said.

There’s a pattern of falsifying statistics throughout the entire Census Bureau. And anyone who attempts to blow the whistle on the fraud is either retaliated against or ignored, according to two new sources who have experienced the process firsthand. As I’ve been writing for more than six months, the Census Bureau office in Philadelphia uncovered a case of fraud in 2010, did nothing about it and allowed the practice to continue. In that instance, a data collector named Julius Buckmon was faking reports that went into the nation’s all-important jobless tally and consumer-inflation survey. Because the Census Bureau’s surveys are scientific — meaning
