| Fox News chairman Roger Ailes was surprised to see Karl Rove heatedly questioning the Fox News team’s election call. “I turn on the TV,” Ailes tells TVNewswer’s Chris Ariens, “and the first thing I see is Rove saying something like ‘you called Ohio too early.’ And I thought, ‘What the? What is this?’” And, like any cable news head worth his salt, Ailes’ direction was to keep the camera on Rove. “So I quickly called [EVP of News] Michael Clemente and I said, ‘Michael whatever you do, don’t go to commercial. Don’t leave the screen,’”

Comments: You don´t ever want to get on the wrong side of Roger Ailes. However, I thought Rove was right in questioning the call for Ohio with just one percent of the votes in. I really hate reliving any part of that horrific night.

Fox mimics the lame stream press. Sure once in a while, like Benghazi, they do the right thing but for the most part, they run the same anti republican stories.

#2 I would posit that Fox doesn´t mimic anyone....they report the news and sometimes we don´t like it. The fair and balanced part comes with the panels as those are always balanced with left and right views.
Sometimes the news does contain stuff Republicans do...especially the establishment RINOs...and believe me, I want to hear that, too.

I hate to say it, but Glen Beck´s Blaze network may be a very good investment in that FOX is very susceptible to a challenge from the right. The challenge for Beck will be sobriety, rationality, credibility and keeping Beck´s histrionics out of their coverage. A few years down the road I can see a cable alternative to FOX taking a big bite out of their ratings monopoly. It remains to be seen if Beck´s project will be this challenger or if it will be some other bright entrepreneur.

Karl is usually right and proved it again. I heard him and I think he is a genius. You could not pay me enough to watch beck sweat and perform.

The main goal, Ailes says, is transparency — allowing the contentious discussion take place in front of the cameras, all before viewers’ eyes.
Oh, please. Maybe they don´t mind the transparency, but Ailes is all about the ratings. Believe me, he was thrilled with the controversy (hence, telling the producer not to cut away).

Neither factored in voter fraud elements in Ohio and Florida which are a distinct possibility. The Ohio legislature interviewed a guy who said the machines could be rigged.
Rove was not the only one blind-sided by the dem turnout.
Some say the GOP is doomed. I think obama still will doom the democrat party. Soon there will be nothing to buy his constituents with and they will either self deport, or have to work for a living. The dependent dummies have just doomed their own stash of mom and pop provided cash.

Karl Rove was calm, polite and reasonable. I am glad to see that there is no criticism of him here. Some people did jump all over him but I don´t know how they could justify it, except that they don´t like him, which is all some people need. Personally, I find him very likable.

Ohio and Florida were both stolen from Romney.
Ailes can blow steam all he wants. FNC is nothing more than CNN lite.

I would suggest that Rove had no clue the sheer volume of voting fraud that would be perpetrated by the Democrats in this election. Between that and the greed of legions of mindless takers... took quite a few of us by surprise.

I think the voter fraud caught Dick Morris flatfooted too. I sure know it caught me.
Glenn Beck is already on DISH TV and I´m hoping the next stop will be Direct TV. He´s not like AlGore - the only one on screen.

The way to prevent abortionists like convicted murderer Kermit Gosnell from occurring again is to build more Planned Parenthood clinics, Rep. Jerrold Nadler (D-N.Y.) said at a House Judiciary Subcommittee hearing on Thursday about legislation that would prevent abortion after 20 weeks nationwide. “I would urge my colleagues to think about the extent to which he, Dr. Gosnell, represented the poor quality of health care services available in poorer communities,” Nadler said at the Subcommittee on the Constitution and Civil Justice hearing. “We should be working to make sure that high quality

House Speaker John A. Boehner on Thursday flatly ruled out chances of the House passing the Senate’s immigration bill, saying his chamber will debate its own bill instead. The Ohio Republican and his top lieutenants in the party issued a joint statement that seemed designed to tamp down some of the momentum behind the Senate bill, which emerged from a committee on a bipartisan 13-5 vote this week, and to stake out a House GOP position. “While we applaud the progress made by our Senate colleagues, there are numerous ways in which

During friendly questioning from Rep. Hank “I fear that Guam will capsize!” Johnson in Congress last week, Attorney General Eric Holder offered the following statement. In regard to potential prosecution of the press for the disclosure of material. This is not something I’ve ever been involved in, heard of, or would think would be wise policy. He made that statement before the facts about the sweep on Fox News’ James Rosen were known. Since then, it’s come to light that Holder himself approved the subpoena that, among other things, named Rosen as a criminal co-conspirator.

As the saying goes, scratch a liberal and you’ll find a tyrant underneath. NY Gov. Andrew Cuomo is but the latest example. He shoved a very restrictive and ill-considered gun law through the state legislature in the dead of night. Among its flaws, the law criminalized police officers who tote firearms with magazines that hold more than seven rounds. Sheriffs around the state have objected to the law. Cuomo summoned them to the state capitol under what appears to be a false pretext, and used the meeting to threaten them into silence. Cuomo invited

The National Council of La Raza (translation: The Race) has partnered with the Office of Personnel Management to encourage Hispanic activists and members to burrow into the federal government. A workshop sponsored by La Raza/The Race will take place in New Orleans on July 23, 2013. Senior Executive Service (SES) employees are federal government employees in special executive management positions, often with salaries approaching $200,000 per year (and well past that with benefits). OPM, a federal government agency, is cooperating and partnering

What a fantastic talent liberals possess, the ability to talk out of both sides of their mouths. One side utters platitudes about campaign finance reform and the nefarious influence of money in politics, while the other whispers in the ears of oligarchs and plutocrats. One side slanders Republicans as the tools of corporate interests, while the other solicits donations from some of the largest corporations in the world. The next journalist to examine influence peddling on K Street need only walk two blocks south, to H Street.

President Obama and Vice President Joe Biden met with three illegal immigrants who have been granted deferred action legal status in the Oval Office Tuesday. Meanwhile, Obama still refuses to meet with any border security enforcement officers about any aspect of immigration reform. “From Justino Mora, Angie Kim and Mehdi Mahraoui, to Diana Colin and Kevin Lee,” a White House blog entry reads, “all of the stories they shared were full of hope and optimism that one day their family members and their broader communities could realize the dream of becoming citizens of a country that

The public got its first look Thursday at Lois Lerner, who has gone from faceless IRS bureaucrat to the face that launched what feels like 1,000 congressional hearings and conspiracy theories. But it was only a brief sighting since she didn´t stay long at a House hearing to further probe her role in how some IRS workers came to target conservative groups seeking tax-exempt status. (Snip)She did make a short statement to declare her innocence, however. Lerner´s motivation was more transparent than much of what the IRS has done in connection with this controversy. She was determined to

When you get right down to it, the political targeting and stalling of tax-exempt applications by the IRS was an effort to defund the Tea Party. Rick Santelli, one of the Tea Party founders and my CNBC colleague, was the first to make this point. I’ve taken it a step further: The IRS was taking the Tea Party out of play for the 2012 election, as it looked to avoid a repeat of 2010 and another Tea Party landslide. There are a lot of numbers out there.

President Obama on Thursday nominated Victoria Nuland, a State Department official involved in the editing of the administration´s talking points on Benghazi, to be the next assistant secretary of state for European and Eurasian affairs. Nuland, a career foreign service officer who was until recently State´s top spokesperson, had long been expected to be nominated the post to replace Philip Gordon, who Obama picked to serve as Middle East coordinator for the National Security Council. Nuland´s nomination -- which requires Senate confirmation -- could come under scrutiny from Republicans who see her as playing a central role in shaping

What´s so interesting about 60 tea partiers protesting the IRS in San Jose, California on Tuesday, May 21st? The fact that this bit of information was conveyed to the protesters by a Department of Homeland Security officer who was also in attendance. What was a DHS agent doing at the San Jose Tea Party protest? (snip) they weren´t just spying on us in San Jose and monitoring us in San Francisco, they were watching us throughout the entire state

Conservative radio host Mark Levin is very skeptical of the idea that President Obama had absolutely no idea about the IRS tea party targeting before the story broke in the news mere weeks ago. Levin declared adamantly that it is a “flat-out, bald-faced lie” that Obama didn’t know beforehand, citing prior reports by a few conservative news outlets picking up on the news well before the 2012 presidential election. Levin said, “I don’t believe for two seconds that Obama wasn’t aware of this.”

Anthony Weiner’s New York mayoral candidacy was only made more improbable today after he revealed that he visited a Houston psychiatric facility following his resignation from Congress in 2011. Haunted by scandal surrounding his sexually explicit online communications with women, the Democratic former congressman sought treatment for his compulsive behavior from mental health professionals at the Gabbard Center. According to its website, the facility provides “3-day outpatient psychiatric evaluation,” particularly to “professionals who are in personal or professional crises.” While Weiner did not disclose
