| Breitbart quotes a tweet by CNN correspondent Frances Townsend claiming information by Pentagon correspondent Barbara Starr that David Petraeus will testify that he knew the attack on the Benghazi consulate was terrorism “almost immediately.” The “same source” claims he will say Susan Rice’s talking points ascribing the attack to a video came from the White House. If Petraeus really does testify to this effect, he will inescapably be alleging under oath that the president was a liar. Even if the testimony is restricted strictly to Benghazi and not its aftermath, the crucial question remains: did the president abandon?

Just so everyone is clear about the Democrats´ intentions:
When America elects a credible commander in chief who acts as a responsible commander in chief, the Democrats ridicule, demonize and try to bring him down, to the advantage of our enemies (think Reagan, George W Bush). But when America elects an entirely non-credible commander in chief who acts irresponsibly as commander in chief, the Democrats prop him up by any means necessary (think Carter, Clinton, Obama).
It should be crystal clear, that in fact the Democrats do not want a credible, responsible commander in chief who acts in the best interests of the nation. Quite the opposite.

Before he gets on any planes, I hope Petraeus leaves notarized copies of the real story with a few people who won´t be bought off. .... As for Hillary, apparently the run-and-hide bit isn´t going to work. I heard last evening that she, too, will testify. Will she repeat her infamous testimony of yesteryear by telling Congress that she ´can´t recall´ the incident?
I must admit that I have little faith that any of this testimony will take place .... unless the video footage becomes a blue dress. Videos such as this usually get ´lost in the fire´ or simply disappear. .... Where is SandyPants when you need him?

Well, the President IS a liar. And the simplest and most effective way to say that is not to speak it but to show those real-time videos of the ambassador being dragged out of the consulate. If that had been done before the election, President Romney would be being sworn in this January.
No, those weasels hid the evidence and got their co-conspirator press corpse to help them evade any discussion of their lies just long enough to run out the clock and allow Obama to remain in power. Now, he and they believe he´s untouchable.
Let ´s see how untouchable he is. Show the video.

Does anyone who reads Lucianne really expect anyone testifying in Washington, DC to ever tell the truth?
Is there any honest person serving us in DC?
Today, I truly doubt it. They all seem to avoid, skirt around, and purposely deceive in order to ride a fence.
Disgusting are they all.

I don´t think it will really matter WHAT obama is or does as long as certain people get their stuff. Same goes for the dem party. Along with the U.S. Constitution, they seem to have pretty well jettisoned the Ten Commandments and every other law of a civilized nation.

The part of the country that reelected the kenyan fraud is not America. They are merely useless riffraff that happened to be born here or successfully climbed the border fence - or terminal liberals. Through negligence, we let their numbers grow above 50%.

If Gen. Petraeus hasn´t figured it out yet, this hearing today is where he´ll get his reputation back.
Then the inevitable ´´were you lying then? or are you lying now?´´ questions come up, all he has to do is tell the committee who came up with the video story. (And that line sounds exactly like a Hillary thing. Let´s not lose sight of the Huma factor in all Hillary does.)
I still smell set-up in this entire event, from before what is known, to this nanosecond. But who was (is?) being set up? Deep into the bowels, we go.

Despite Petraeus´ stupid indiscretion (of the what could you possibly been thinking variety), as a military leader he put his men first.
I truly hope he ends his career with the honor he has shown during that career, not this one. This administration MUST be exposed for what it is, criminal. Four men were left to die, begging for help, while Washington watched it in real time.
As for the FBI´s "recovery" of classified documents in the woman´s home, in the age of the Obama Justice Department, the words "planting of evidence" is not out of the question. I trust nothing they do.
I hope Petraeus does the right thing.

Forty years ago we learned everything we needed to know about that third-rate burglary known as Watergate and Nixon resigned over it´s cover-up. But that was America forty years ago. Moral relativism and political correctness have combined with rampant gimme,gimme-ism today and it wouldn´t matter if Obama killed Ambassador Stevens himself - this will all come to nothing. He is beyond teflon. Obama is untouchable. The media is beyond incurious. They cover for him. So this is what it feels like to live in a banana republic under a tinpot dictator.

So it´s gut check time for Petraeus. Is he a standup guy willing to temporarily forget about his own hide and tell the truth for the sake of his country, or is he a butt-covering uniformed version of Hillary Clinton?

FTA: "When pressed to identify who came up with the infamous “Mohammed video” talking points, neither Clapper nor Morell could recall the person responsible."
Perhaps they can´t remember BECAUSE the introduction of the talking points was carefully scripted and managed to PREVENT identification of their source, BECAUSE the "´Mohammed video´ talking points" were a prepackaged narrative, in the can and ready to roll out on 9/11, BECAUSE the administration knew beforehand that there would be 9/11 demonstrations in Cairo and set up a false narrative like the "war on women" designed to link American Christians and by extension Romney and Republicans to the video and to middle east unrest. Might as well subtitle the whole thing "Mitt Romney - Dangerous American Christian."
Remember - the American embassy in Cairo put out its apology half a day before the "spontaneous" demonstrations even began. Will someone on one of these committees please call to testify under oath the person from the Cairo embassy who issued that premature apology? Please.

Nothing happened with Fast and Furious and Nothing will happen with Benghazi because the left has the press propaganda machine and the right are afraid of it. The war for America is lost to the antiAmerican hatred from obama and the compliance of the sanctimonious idiots and greedy worthless who voted for him. The last stand is with the states and if those governors go along with raising taxes, as I read this morning, then we are finished economically and defensively.

All due respect to my fellow L-Dotr´s, but the well-bent General Petraeus is not very likely to stand up and save the country. His wife has a fantastic Federal sinecure, with a huge pension down the road. The General, even though currently out of a job, also has a huge golden parachute of a federal pension waiting for himself. Blessed Hussein will be President for four more years.
You think Petraeus will suddenly develop scruples which will endanger all of this? If so, I have some lovely swampland, I mean lakeshore property, in Northern Minnesota for sale.
The ´You Tube Made ´Em Do It´ excuse was no doubt set up by the Obama White House to play the stall until after the Election. Pure and simple.

Enough Americans spoke last Tuesday and all they care about is their free cheese, phones, birth control, etc. The reputation of this country, our standing in the world, etc means nothing to them. If they even think about it - they think the US has it coming. We´re all one world now. gag
This country is not the same it was in 1973 during Watergate. And there appears to be not enough of us who do care to effect anything.

Let´s save some time, and find out now, that the President, with Hillary and Susan Ricearoni, were inciting belief in their video, to hide the reason for the attack. They made the spark, the stupid video, and then they blew on it for weeks, hoping to get ignition in the form of riots in the ME. The attack was to end the buy back program of Gadaffi´ s stinger missiles and other worthwhile weapons to be acquired suddenly, by Obama´´s jihadists. by removing all security. The Navy SEALs were told to stand down while the hit on the bag man was carried out. It was supposed to be too late within the first hour of the attack. Chris Stephens friendship with the two SEALs was unplanned, and complicted the overthrow of the compound and the wearhouse full of weapons. We bought them back from the holders, gave them big bucks, then permitted the lot to be stolen. They will be used to attack Obama´s/muslim enemy, Israel. Fast and Furious II.

Remember O´s admiration of Hugo Chavez, muzzled press (not the MSM, but US), and his nationalization of multiple industries.
If given the chance, O would no doubt try for a 3rd term - rationale being that FDR did it, and if we don´t let him do it, we´re being racists. (Never mind that the 2-term limit Amendment wasn´t passed when FDR was alive).

OVER the last decade, the United States has become a less violent country in every way save one. As Americans commit fewer and fewer crimes against other people’s lives and property, they have become more likely to inflict fatal violence on themselves. In the 1990s, the suicide rate dipped with the crime rate. But since 2000, it has risen, and jumped particularly sharply among the middle-aged. The suicide rate for Americans 35 to 54 increased nearly 30 percent between 1999 and 2010; for men in their 50s, it rose nearly 50 percent. More Americans now die of suicide

In the days after the Benhazi attack, the State Department scurried to cover up its failure to heed warnings of such attacks while the White House scurried to cover up the fact that that attacks were the work of al Qaeda-linked terrorists of the sort President Obama supposedly had largely vanquished. The final Benghazi “talking points” and Susan Rice’s talk show appearances represent the product of this scurrying. To help advance the narrative that the Benghazi attacks were spontaneous, and thus (a) not to have been anticipated and (b) not linked to al Qaeda,

"Absolutely not true," Ford told reporters gathered outside his west Toronto house, before driving off in his SUV. SAN DIEGO — In the ocean off Coronado, a Navy team has discovered a relic worthy of display in a military museum: a torpedo of the kind deployed in the late 19th century, considered a technological marvel in its day. But don´t look for the primary discoverers to get a promotion or an invitation to meet the admirals at the Pentagon - although they might get an extra fish for dinner or maybe a pat on the snout. The so-called Howell torpedo was discovered by bottlenose dolphins being trained by the Navy to find undersea objects, including mines,

It must be George W. Bush’s fault. Everything else is. The moonbats’ verdict is in. Barack Obama couldn’t possibly have done all those terrible things the vast right-wing conspiracy is accusing him of. And they’re not scandals, either. Obama’s troubles are merely “controversies” or, to use Dear Leader’s own phrase, a sideshow. Scandals only happen to Republicans, just like Deval Patrick didn’t go on a junket to Ireland. It was a “trade mission.” Democrats never make mistakes either — “mistakes were made,” in the passive voice.

Jay Carney insists Benghazi, Libya, is not a scandal, but then he doesn’t admit to having misled the media about the origin of the attacks. The administration now tells CBS News, “We’re portrayed by Republicans as either being lying or idiots. It’s actually closer to us being idiots.” It would be nice if the source specified what part(s) of the administration were idiotic and why it’s “closer” but not all attributable to incompetence. The problem with claiming incompetence is two-fold. First, it raises the question as to where the president was on Sept. 11, 2012,

The standard police warning about con men applies to politicians, as well: When they tell you something that sounds too good to be true, it usually is. So it goes with the White House claim that it knew nothing — nothing! — about the targeting of conservative groups by the Internal Revenue Service. Of course the White House knew. And we already have the first piece of evidence. The Friday hearing on what amounted to political profiling of anti-Obama groups took a huge step toward demolishing White House efforts to distance itself from the scandal. The agency’s inspector general testified

Obama administration officials who were in key positions on Sept. 11, 2012, acknowledge that a range of mistakes were made the night of the attacks on the U.S. missions in Benghazi, and in messaging to Congress and the public in the aftermath. The officials spoke to CBS News in a series of interviews and communications under the condition of anonymity so that they could be more frank in their assessments. They do not all agree on the list of mistakes and it's important to note that they universally claim that any errors or missteps did not cost lives and reflect "incompetence rather than malice or cover up.

In the wake of one of the worst abuses of government power in recent history, many are rushing to frame the Internal Revenue Service scandal as simply an attack on conservative activists. That view risks creating a partisan political football and misses a fundamentally scarier abuse that exceeds the scandals of Watergate or any other prior government abuse. The IRS has admitted that since May 2010 it targeted grassroots-conservative organizations that had applied for tax-exempt status, unfairly subjecting them to rigorous scrutiny due to their political leanings. Such groups were told they were required to comply with IRS requests,

Treasury Secretary Jack Lew on Friday urged congressional leaders to raise the debt limit and insisted that the White House is not going to negotiate over the increase because lawmakers have "no choice." "We will not negotiate over the debt limit," Lew wrote. "The creditworthiness of the United States is non-negotiable. The question of whether the country must pay obligations it has already incurred is not open to debate." Lew said that while President Obama is willing to discuss plans to reduce the nation´s deficit with Congress, those talks must be kept separate from any effort to raise the nation´s debt cap.

Washington – Sen. Claire McCaskill, D-MO, issued a video statement Friday in response to reports that the Internal Revenue Service unfairly targeted conservative nonprofit groups. (Snip) “There’s a reason Lady Justice wears a blindfold in America. That is because in America, we don’t apply the law based on who you are, who you know, or what you believe. We apply the law equally.” “We should not only fire the head of the IRS, which has occurred, but we’ve got to go down the line and find every single person who had anything to do with this and make sure

The Internal Revenue Service´s watchdog told top Treasury officials around June 2012 he was investigating allegations the tax agency had targeted conservative groups, for the first time indicating that Obama administration officials were aware of the explosive matter in the midst of the president´s re-election campaign. The disclosure to the Treasury general counsel and the deputy secretary was a cursory one, according to J. Russell George, the Treasury inspector general for tax administration. He said he didn´t reveal conclusions of the probe, which was in its early stages, and his disclosure came as part

The lawmaker leading the charge to investigate the Benghazi terror attack on Friday subpoenaed the co-author of a report that slammed the State Department but didn´t interview Hillary Clinton. House Oversight Committee Chairman Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) formally demanded that retired ambassador Thomas Pickering submit to being deposed by the committee next Thursday. The subpoena comes in the wake of a series of acrimonious public exchanges this week between the two men. Issa didn´t issue a subpoena to former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Michael Mullen, who co-authored the Benghazi report with Pickering.

A healthcare provider has sued the Internal Revenue Service and 15 of its agents, charging they wrongfully seized 60 million medical records from 10 million Americans. The name of the provider is not yet known, United Press International said. But Courthouse News Service said the suit claims the agency violated the Fourth Amendment in 2011, when agents executed a search warrant for financial data on one employee – and that led to the seizure of information on 10 million, including state judges. The search warrant did not specify that the IRS could take medical information, UPI said.
