| Former CIA Director David Petraeus, in conversations with an HLN journalist, insisted that his resignation had nothing to do with his scheduled testimony about the September attack that killed four Americans in Benghazi, Libya. (Snip) Among other things, Petraeus said he has not talked with Paula Broadwell, his biographer and woman he admitted an affair with, since the scandal broke. "He insisted to me that he has never passed classified information to Paula Broadwell," Phillips said. "He said this has nothing to do with Benghazi, and he wants to testify. He will testify."

I find it truly remarkable that it took the FBI over a month to get to Benghazi and still they let crucial classified information behind; and it took them months to raid Broadwell´s house. What could they possibly have been doing that was more important than protecting our national security? This would be a rhetorical question.

Did Candy Crowley write the last sentence? The classified information could easily be left over from some aspect of her reserve assignment.

I think there is a difference between officially classified information and the information just discribed as classified by the media. Except the fact that Patraeus had an affair, I just do not believe everything else in the media.

Re #1, as an Army intelligence officer she had her own security clearance. She was allowed to view classified documents. But she was not allowed to take them away in any form. Apparently all of the documents she had were not on her computer, but in boxes removed from her home.
They did not have to come from or via Petraeus.

...given the amazing career that the media has spent years promoting about Mr. Petraeus, one can only assume that Mr. Petraeus has classified info in his DNA..... therefore....

I suspect Lt. Col. Broadwell has numerous contacts in the military who were all too happy to share classified docs with her.
Honestly, I don´t see why this is a big deal. We see classified material on the cover of the NY Times regularly. Where does that come from? Same place Paula got hers, I´d wager. . .

One article mentioned she had removed classified documents from different government offices and perhaps with her security clearance she might have been able to get into a number of gov´t facilities.
NOW, just how did she lose her Driver´s License in a park in D.C. Was she passing on the docs to someone?

Authorized access to classified material requires both the appropriate level of security clearance and something called "the need to know" - which she clearly didn´t have.

MOORE, Okla. Authorities have clarified and significantly downgraded the number of homes damaged or destroyed in this week´s tornado in an Oklahoma City suburb. Oklahoma City Police Department spokesman Dexter Nelson said Thursday that the most recent count indicates that 1,200 homes in the city and the suburb of Moore were affected by Monday´s storm. The mayor of Oklahoma City announced at a news conference Wednesday that as many as 13,000 homes had been destroyed or damaged. There was no immediate explanation for the differing estimates.
