| The shale gas revolution is firing up an old-fashioned American industrial revival, breathing life into businesses such as petrochemicals and glass, steel and toys. Consider the rising fortunes of Ascension Parish, La. Methanex Corp., which closed its last U.S. chemical plant in 1999, is spending more than half a billion dollars to dismantle a methanol plant in Chile and move it to the parish. Nearby, a petrochemical company, Williams, is spending $400 million to expand an ethylene plant. And on Nov. 1, CF Industries unveiled a $2.1 billion expansion of its nitrogen fertilizer manufacturing

Illustrate how the local economies, cities, counties, states benefit from the NEW tax revenues.
How it supports the hiring of teachers, police, fire and public employees.
How Obama and the Democrats by use of the EPA and other liberal groups want to stop.

According to the Methanex website they received an air permit from the EPA so I guess its still a go.

Awwww ta po witto environmentalists are upset that they cannot stop this.
A few omissions...
The article does not mention the recent technology of horizontal drilling that makes this all possible. This technology is beginning to change the oil drilling industry, also.
The other big issue that the article misses is that this is ALL occurring on private property and there is a huge boom, despite the 0 & Co. shutdown of drilling on public land leases.

Another issue that is over lookeed is that natural gas pricing is local and not international. There is no cheap way of transporting natural gas overseas. Therefore, whoever has cheap natuaral gas has pricing advantage for any products derived from natural gas.

The problem is not just the EPA. The Dept of the Interior is also trying to shut down fracking on government owned property.

Texas has doubled its oil production from a million barrels a day to two million from Jan 2009 to the last reported numbers from August. Neither EPA nor Interior have any say of private land permitting unless the State is stupid and lets them advise. Neither TX nor ND are stupid. The EPA tried claiming effects on water but lost. They are now trying to prevent the flaring of gas to develop the oil. Solutions are to lay more collection pipes or to use the gas to generate local electricity to run the hydraulic fracturing pumps. In TX the leaders are doing both.

An IRS supervisor working in Washington told congressional investigators that she personally reviewed applications from groups for tax-exempt status, in testimony that appears to show the agency’s scrutiny of conservative groups extended beyond the confines of the office in Cincinnati. Holly Paz, who was a supervisor in the Internal Revenue Service’s tax-exempt status division, indicated during an interview with congressional investigators that she did review such applications, but indicated that she believed “tea party” meant political advocacy in general — not necessarily conservative groups.

The Supreme Court ruled today in Arizona v. Inter Tribal Council that federal law does not allow states the option of requiring voters to prove they are American citizens when they register to vote. An attorney whose firm represents two Benghazi whistleblowers said Gen. Martin Dempsey, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, lied to the Senate when he said there was never a “stand down” order during the Benghazi attack on Sept. 11, 2012. “What was fascinating is that he explained his lie to them,” Joe DiGenova, an attorney representing one of the whistleblowers, told CNSNews.com. “He actually said they were sent to Tripoli. Charlie Rose last night asked President Obama his new Syria policy. The president first objected to it being called a new policy. "I´m not sure you can characterize this as a new policy. This is consistent with the policy that I´ve had throughout," he said. Obama then explained the goal is regional stability, and especially in Syria. "Really, what we´re trying to do is take sides against extremists of all sorts and in favor of people who are in favor of moderation, tolerance, representative government, and over the long-term, stability and prosperity for the people of Syria," said Obama.
