Today, President Obama held his first press conference in five months. It was a bizarre mix of softball questions from his press sycophants, false righteous indignation from the president over his administration’s Benghazi failures and lies, and an oddly blustery position shift on tax hikes as opposed to tax loopholes. Obama opened his press conference with his usual patter about class warfare and the fiscal cliff, insisting on raising taxes first and foremost. Then a reporter asked him about whether he knew about the Petraeus investigation – or whether he should have known. Headline resplit by staff.
|
Comments: He was obnoxious, peevish and arrogant, like he always is. His indignation over the question about Susan Rice is just pathetic.

FTA: "Obama then added, “Immediately upon finding out our folks were in danger, my order to my national security was to do anything they needed to do to keep Americans safe.”
This is the most damning comment to himself that 0bama let slipped out. It makes it very clear to me that HE WAS NOTIFIED IMMEDIATELY of the crisis & ´´knew´´ in plenty of time to save some, if not all the personnel lost in Benghazi. He´s preparing to throw whoever is left under bus to protect himself over this scandal [failure of leadership].
Not mentioned here was an earlier question about national security leaks. How were we ´´told´´ that there were three terrorist being held the night of the 9/11 attack? It wasn´t from any White House source & we know Paula Broadwell had access to classified military documents, which she took home. And, then mentioned in a speech after the murders of Ambassador Stevens & the three other men.

As far as he is concerned he owes us nothing. The idiots who voted him back in have given him cover for the next four years and he will take advantage of it. He will smile, lie through his teeth and act offended if anyone actually asks him a tough question. My God, what have we turned into?

It is official, we have a full blown tyrant in the White House. I have NEVER heard a more disrespectful president in my life. And I´ve heard them all since the 1960s. It will only go down hill from here.
Where the h*ll are the Republicans? A bunch of spineless...

The primary reason he refuses any comment on the Benghazi mess is that he knows Gen P is going to testify shortly on that subject and the General will tell the truth.

As for taxes, the Republicans have been taking a beating for years defending the Hollywood crowd, Wall Street and the multi-million earners in sports - most of whom support the Democrats, especially the black president. Wake up Republicans!!! Agree with the Man and let him take the credit for punishing his friends and move on.

Don´t put to much faith in Petreaus telling truth. He´s already lie once about the video. I doubt he will admit perjury. He also doesn´t want to screw up his bribe to work at a college that also employs Van Jones.

There´s not much we can hope for from Obama, but if he continues to limit himself to only one press conference every five months it would be beneficial.
Following his mention of tax increases today, the Dow Jones Industrial Average plunged 150 points. Since the DJIA hasn´t risen a single day since Obama´s re-election, maybe we should start calling it the DOWN Jones Industrial Average.

The parents of those who lost their lives in Benghazi need to file a suit against President Obama and "let the chips fall where they may"! He has stonewalled this long enough and needs to be held accountable. They need to hire someone who is willing/able to stand up to the Socialist in the White House.
This has gone on long enough.
Also, the media needs to be called in to testify and this could open up the eyes of Americans to exactly who we have in the White House. Perjury does challenge them to be honest "for the first time"!
Pray for America! Almighty God is willing to become involved, if only we invite Him in. He is the Truth and the Light and He knows exactly what happened and why!
The truth will set US free. Amen

President Obama on Thursday nominated Victoria Nuland, a State Department official involved in the editing of the administration´s talking points on Benghazi, to be the next assistant secretary of state for European and Eurasian affairs. Nuland, a career foreign service officer who was until recently State´s top spokesperson, had long been expected to be nominated the post to replace Philip Gordon, who Obama picked to serve as Middle East coordinator for the National Security Council. Nuland´s nomination -- which requires Senate confirmation -- could come under scrutiny from Republicans who see her as playing a central role in shaping

America´s 100 million cable and satellite subscribers are forced to pay ever-higher bills for a growing number of channels they do not watch. The American people are being ripped off. Meanwhile, services such as iTunes and Netflix have led a revolution in how consumers purchase and experience music and video entertainment. They have upended entire industries to allow consumers to buy digital content where they want, when they want. Amid all this change, two entrenched interests — the cable television and video programming industries — have teamed up to use federal regulations to stack the deck against consumers.

Conservative radio host Mark Levin is very skeptical of the idea that President Obama had absolutely no idea about the IRS tea party targeting before the story broke in the news mere weeks ago. Levin declared adamantly that it is a “flat-out, bald-faced lie” that Obama didn’t know beforehand, citing prior reports by a few conservative news outlets picking up on the news well before the 2012 presidential election. Levin said, “I don’t believe for two seconds that Obama wasn’t aware of this.”

President Obama is a little uneasy with the way journalists have been dragged into the Justice Department’s aggressive pursuit of national security leak investigations. In fact, he has ordered Attorney General Eric Holder to conduct a 45-day review of the department’s guidelines on the issue. That bit of news was buried in the middle of the president’s hourlong speech today at National Defense University. “Journalists should not be at legal risk for doing their jobs,” President Obama said. “Our focus must be on those who break the law.” And then the news: “I have raised these issues with

Anthony Weiner’s nascent mayoral campaign is off to a rough start. Weiner made his candidacy for mayor of New York official in the wee hours of Wednesday morning, and since then there’s no indication that the process is going particularly well. The former rising star in the Democratic Party can’t shake the scandal that forced him to resign from Congress, and he may be throwing fuel on the fire. Asked this morning whether there was another shoe to drop in the sextweeting scandal that ousted him, Weiner admitted, Well, yeah.

White House press secretary Jay Carney could only explain his problems on Wednesday by telling reporters, "[T]here are a lot of you, and you´re good at your jobs and you´re smart." As easy as it might be for Carney to lob such insincere praise at former journalistic colleagues, such posterior osculations must be embarrassing for a White House so accustomed to having the press in its back pocket. Carney´s job has become more difficult in the past two weeks. Where his explanations were accepted at face value in the past, he is now met with deep skepticism. Suddenly, the

WASHINGTON – First she refused to testify. Now Lois Lerner, the IRS official at the center of the agency scandal, is refusing to resign, according to a top Republican senator. Sources confirmed to Fox News earlier Thursday that Lerner, the head of the IRS division that oversaw the unit targeting conservative groups, had been placed on administrative leave, with pay. But Sen. Charles Grassley, R-Iowa, claimed she was only put in that status after refusing to step down. He said the commissioner was in his right to demand her resignation, and said taxpayers

The public got its first look Thursday at Lois Lerner, who has gone from faceless IRS bureaucrat to the face that launched what feels like 1,000 congressional hearings and conspiracy theories. But it was only a brief sighting since she didn´t stay long at a House hearing to further probe her role in how some IRS workers came to target conservative groups seeking tax-exempt status. (Snip)She did make a short statement to declare her innocence, however. Lerner´s motivation was more transparent than much of what the IRS has done in connection with this controversy. She was determined to

When you get right down to it, the political targeting and stalling of tax-exempt applications by the IRS was an effort to defund the Tea Party. Rick Santelli, one of the Tea Party founders and my CNBC colleague, was the first to make this point. I’ve taken it a step further: The IRS was taking the Tea Party out of play for the 2012 election, as it looked to avoid a repeat of 2010 and another Tea Party landslide. There are a lot of numbers out there.

What´s so interesting about 60 tea partiers protesting the IRS in San Jose, California on Tuesday, May 21st? The fact that this bit of information was conveyed to the protesters by a Department of Homeland Security officer who was also in attendance. What was a DHS agent doing at the San Jose Tea Party protest? (snip) they weren´t just spying on us in San Jose and monitoring us in San Francisco, they were watching us throughout the entire state

On “Fox News Sunday” last weekend, White House aide Dan Pfeiffer was asked about President Barack Obama’s whereabouts the night of the Sept. 11 attack in Benghazi. This was the night when we lost our first ambassador in 30 years, and when three other Americans were killed in an attack that lasted all night long at multiple locations within the eastern Libyan city. Since the president is commander in chief, one would think where he was and what he did during such an event would be of obvious public concern.

House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Darrell Issa said embattled IRS official Lois Lerner waived her Fifth Amendment rights and will be hauled back to appear before his panel again. The California Republican said Lerner’s Fifth Amendment right to avoid self-incrimination was voided when she gave an opening statement this morning denying any wrongdoing and professing pride in her government service. “When I asked her her questions from the very beginning, I did so so she could assert her rights prior to any statement,” Issa told POLITICO. “She chose not to do so — so she waived.”

Is the worm turning against Barack Obama? After four-plus years of being given the benefit of the doubt by the bulk of the US media, the President now suddenly feels more vulnerable. Today both the New York Times and the Washington Post have run prominent and angry editorials and columns slamming the administration for its attempt to criminalise a Fox News reporter James Rosen for working a State Department source to obtain a story. The "Rosen Affair"--as it is now known--is poisoning the well in Washington at an alarming rate for Mr Obama, with an indignant White House press corps
