Video highlights: Republican Senators
McCain, Graham and Ayotte Hold News
Conference on Benghazi Investigation

Fox News, by Staff

Republican senators John McCain, Lindsey Graham and Kelly Ayotte held a news conference on Capitol Hill today to discuss the status of the investigation into the Sept. 11 terror attack in Benghazi, Libya, and the upcoming hearings on the matter. The trio called for the creation of a joint committee to investigate the attack, similar to panels that investigated 9/11, Iran-Contra, and Watergate. Watch McCain’s opening remarks: Graham later responded to a question about speculation that President Obama will pick U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice to succeed Hillary Clinton as Secretary of State.

Comments:
By the tone of their questioning it´s obvious the media will continue to and always protect 0bama. It´s terribly discouraging. The press conference coming up with 0bama will be even more of a joke.

Do the loved one of the four murdered Americans have the RIGHT to know the truth?
The media should be taken to the woodshed.
Disgusting and shameful.

We watched this presser. It was excellent. All three - McCain, Graham and Ayotte - were detailed, specific and forceful as to why they believed that a joint select committee was the only way to go.

They know - some of them from long experience - that when investigations are fragmented, spread out over hearings before various committees, they often fizzle out and nothing happens.

I know that we have sometimes been disappointed in McCain and Graham. There was no cause for this this morning.

They did not pull punches. Made it clear that this required one consolidated investigation, not multiple ones by various committees whose members might want to ask questions of witnesses called to the other committees´ hearings.

They made it clear that they believed some sort of coverup is going on. They also emphasized that "human failing" and indiscretion should not get in the way of an investigation as serious as Benghazi. A clear shot at any attempt by the White House or their lapdog media to destroy Petraeus´s credibility re Benghazi because of his extramarital affair.

Time to turn the tables on the cowardly, traitorous press and ask them the questions.
Do you care that 4 Americans were murdered in Beghanzi?
Does it not matter to you that someone in the top levels of our givernment is responsible for "leaving them behind"?
Are you willing to let the country fundamentally transform to communism?
Does freedom not matter to you at all?

Did they explain why they cancelled the original news conference that had been scheduled prior to the election? Faux indignation after the won is re-elected doesn´t quite pass muster as far as I´m concerned.

Have any of these Republican Senators asked any of the 30 people who survived the Benghazi attack to testify? Are these people sequestered somewhere to keep them silent? We never hear about them.

I think McCain and Graham are sweet on each other. They always seem to be holding hands.

Nice sentiment by the 3 senators but Obama will skate on this. He`s black and that`s all there is to it. Hold hearings if you want to but it won`t do any good. Hillary already showed Congress what she thinks of this incident....

I like Ayotte. I think she brings alot of spine to the table. I look forward to hearing from her in the future. Its time to start bringing forward the new strong Republicans. This press conference was a start. It sure beats playing to the left script. Make them take the defensive for awhile. If you don´t get your message out front and center then you are constantly letting the left define you. I say keep pounding them.

So, are the American people - that would be those who care about the truth - going to demand answers about Benghazi, as McCain said? Or, are they going to talk among themselves, and point fingers, rather than demand answers by supporting those who are searching and putting pressure on those who are not?

Thankfully, FOX is covering this story. We can´t depend on the rest of the MSM, of course. Even when they mention a nugget of truth they cover it with so much garbage that it is unrecognizable as truth by the time they´re finished.

McCain is right about this. The American people need to demand the truth.

Benghazi. The IRS targeting the Tea Party. Feds snooping on the Associated Press. These dizzying controversies around the Obama administration all carry the same lesson: Watch what you say. On Benghazi, set aside for a moment the dust-ups over State Department officials changing talking points, White House officials misleading the media, and congressional Republicans misrepresenting administration emails. Go back to what the administration was saying just after the deadly Sept. 11, 2012, attacks on the U.S. diplomatic facility. Many administration officials -- although they may have known better -- blamed the attack, and thus the death of four Americans,

President Barack Obama has an important new ally as emboldened Republicans work to derail his agenda: John McCain. The shift is striking: The 2008 rivals never got along throughout Obama’s first term in office. McCain has been Obama’s chief tormentor on issues ranging from the budget to Benghazi, tartly saying in late 2010 that the two men had “no relationship.” Yet during one of Obama’s toughest times as president, there was McCain, sitting down last week with him in the Oval Office for a private strategy session. At the urging of new White House chief of

The organizers of Tea Party Patriots have called for a nationwide protest against the Internal Revenue Service to challenge the government agency’s abuse of power while targeting Tea Party groups. The planned protests will take place at IRS offices around the country at noon on Tuesday. The Tea Party Patriots website highlights over 100 IRS offices where protests are planned. Although many Tea Party groups exist, the Tea Party Patriots is one of the most influential coalitions with over 3,000 organized chapters. The organization is sending out protest information, talking points, sample press releases, and sample sign messages,

The revelation that the government’s talking points in the wake of the Benghazi attacks were edited to reflect the concerns of a variety of federal agencies has sparked a firestorm of controversy in recent weeks. Some early reports on that email exchange created the erroneous impression that the White House was more deferential to the concerns of State Department spokeswoman Victoria Nuland, who sought to remove from those talking points a variety of references suggesting the Benghazi attack was the result of a coordinated act of terror. The actual interagency email exchange, released by the Obama administration on Wednesday,

DENVER — Colorado sheriffs upset with gun restrictions adopted in the aftermath of last year’s mass shootings filed a federal lawsuit Friday, challenging the regulations as unconstitutional. The lawsuit involves sheriffs from 54 of Colorado’s 64 counties, most representing rural, gun-friendly areas of the state. The sheriffs say the new state laws violate Second Amendment protections that guarantee the right to keep and bear arms. Opponents are criticizing the lawsuit as political maneuvering. The filing targets Colorado laws that limit the size of ammunition magazines and expand background checks. The regulations

WASHINGTON – Jay Devereaux hadn’t paid much attention to the daily drumbeat of partisan politics in D.C. He wasn’t a Washington nerd, and didn’t know who said what during congressional hearings -- nor did he care. But when news broke that the government was using taxpayer money to bail out Wall Street banks, he started paying attention and didn’t like what he was hearing. So the Florida father and information technology specialist decided to form a group, Unite in Action, to educate people in his area about the issues, he said.

First Lady Michelle Obama has expanded her anti-obesity campaign to museums, enlisting them to offer “healthy food options,” and change their menus. Mrs. Obama’s “Let’s Move!” initiative is now calling for museums, zoos, gardens, science and technology centers to “join the call to action,” to decrease obesity among children. The first lady is recruiting these institutions to join the “Let’s Move! Museums and Gardens” project because of their power to “influence real and sustained behavior change” on the eating habits of kids. “With their impressive reach and great potential for impact, museums and gardens can launch community

What did President Obama do on the evening of 9/11/12 when our men were under attack in Benghazi? The invaluable Andrew McCarthy reminds us that Obama and Secretary Clinton had a 10:00 p.m. phone call of which many (including, I think, Chris Wallace) have lost sight. This morning when Wallace asked Obama aide Dan Pfeiffer what Obama was up to that evening, Pfeiffer declared the line of inquiry “offensive.” Translation: Obama and his minions would prefer to “move on” and are warning the likes of FNC off:(Snip for video)The Weekly Standard’s Daniel Halper has posted the rush transcript

It began in earnest last Friday. A flash mob of latte drinking, tofu eating media that has done its best to quell, rather than fan the flames of truth, turned on one of their own. Jay Carney lay bludgeoned at the base of the podium, a victim of friendly fire. Ironically, the attack was reminiscent of the one in Benghazi he has repeatedly denied the Administration he represents bears any responsibility for. “Changed twelve times?!” came the cries. Treasury Secretary Jack Lew on Friday urged congressional leaders to raise the debt limit and insisted that the White House is not going to negotiate over the increase because lawmakers have "no choice." "We will not negotiate over the debt limit," Lew wrote. "The creditworthiness of the United States is non-negotiable. The question of whether the country must pay obligations it has already incurred is not open to debate." Lew said that while President Obama is willing to discuss plans to reduce the nation´s deficit with Congress, those talks must be kept separate from any effort to raise the nation´s debt cap.
