| Do Americans suddenly like tax increases and bigger government? Or did they simply forget what happens when you raise taxes and make government larger? These are questions to ask as we analyze Tuesday´s election results to discern the fiscal consequences. Advocates of higher taxes prevailed in the presidential and legislative races, and resoundingly. (Snip) These votes suggest Americans are indeed looking at government and taxation differently.

Comments:
Many writers have commented on the contradictions of voter´s political beliefs and their actual votes. Have we lost the ability draw logical conclusions from the facts presented?

The ones aiding the vote cheating and supporting bigger government aren´t the ones who will be paying higher taxes. The morons will still suffer from the currency collapse, but they are, in a word, morons. Which is why morons (aka libtards) should be disenfranchised for the next 10 generations.

The biggest difference between now and the 70´s is that Jimmy Carter didn´t steal his election with rampant vote fraud and we were able to correct the error with Ronaldus Magnus in 1980.
These days, with the collective efforts of TASS (aka the media), the me-gimme-mine´s and the terminally ignorant, as well as the criminal unions and their fraud machines, it would have taken a Reaganesque miracle to win this election.

Think of how many voters weren´t even born in the 70s, or were toddlers, or were blotto.
People can´t remember three years ago, or 6 or 12. How many people remember the low unemployment days and economic growth of the so hated President Bush years?
Hate to harp on this, but people must be educated.
For the ancient Greeks thinking about education like they investigated everything else, saw the process of education as literally leading a person out of the darkness of ignorance into the light of knowledge.
Articles like Amity´s are important. But we´ve got to find ways of disseminating the information. one hopes

How many voters voted GOP but their vote was changed after the fact by a reprogram of the computers? I have to admit I wondered if my vote would be counted TRUE to MY vote as I voted on Election Day. I would rather we go back to basics and write our votes on a piece of paper than wonder if SEIU has reprogrammed the votes to their candidate. I live in SW VA but I still felt threatened by the union voter fraud as I voted.

Half of the country gets representation without taxation. We are now their slaves. If they want more they just pass laws to take it from us. How long we´ll take it is anybody´s guess.

BELCHERTOWN – Shortly after midnight Tuesday, seven people were caught trespassing at the Quabbin Reservoir. State Police say the five men and two women are from Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Singapore, and “cited their education and career interests” for being in the area. The men told police they were chemical engineers and recent college graduates. The Quabbin, in Belchertown, is one of the country’s largest man-made public water supplies.

CONCORD - Representatives of the hospitality industry are expected to turn out in force today to support a Senate proposal that would block state tax collectors from using tips to calculate a business owner´s tax bill. (Snip) For a profitable restaurant, the change would increase the deduction against the business profits tax, and could be a wash. But for an unprofitable or break-even business, the change would mean a significant increase in taxes.

The recent bombings at the Boston marathon finishing line once again reminded Americans of their vulnerability to terrorist acts. Fresh in the collective public awareness is also the issue of gun violence. Congress is at the same time wrestling with immigration reform. It is very interesting to note that while background checks are considered the major method to control gun violence, with regard to immigration Democrats have very aggressively fought the existing Federal background checks required for persons entering the U.S.

Gun control has been driving the news this week, or at least the mail. In recent weeks readers have been encouraging me to dive into the morass. There is so much noise on this issue that I don´t know where to begin. (Snip) There are abundant gun laws on the books. If they were enforced and followed up we might be able to make a dent in gun violence. But laws don´t curb the lawless.

Today the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Bureau of Economic Analysis released their 2012 personal income estimates. Personal income is an important economic measure of a state’s well-being. (Snip) Since 1950, Maine has increased taxes and spending dramatically with the introduction of the sales tax in 1951 and the income tax in 1969. New Hampshire, on the other hand, did not. Increasing taxes on the private sector has two consequences. First, higher taxes will mean less money in the pockets of individuals and businesses which will reduce their ability to invest for the future.

Many who march in the army of the president say that all they want is to return to the good old days when Bill Clinton rode the range and rich people paid their fair share of taxes. Back then, they say, all was good. In 2000, the top tax rate was 39.6 percent and there was a 2.9 percent Medicare tax on top of that. (Snip) This means that the top stated rate for taxes is now 43.4 percent — a rate that is higher than that paid in Clintonian times.

WASHINGTON – The Internal Revenue Serviced scandal today spread further within the White House and closer to President Obama. White House spokesman Jay Carney today disclosed that Obama’s chief of staff, Dennis McDonough, and other top White House officials had advance warning that the IRS was targeting conservative groups. But he insisted McDonough and the other White House officials purposely kept Obama out of the loop.McDonough “rightly chose not to take action” to inform Obama, Carney told reporters at the daily White House briefing.

The Washington Post on Monday reported that Obama’s Department of Justice was investigating journalists before they started wiretapping the Associated Press – for one, Fox News correspondent James Rosen in 2010. Their headline wasn´t "Obama Team Also Spied on Fox News." Fox wasn´t in the headline, on A-1 or on A-12, where the story continued. Newly obtained court documents “reveal how deeply investigators explored the private communications of a working journalist — and raise the question of how often journalists have been investigated as closely as Rosen was in 2010.” Reporter Ann Marimow began:

The wheels came off the Obama administration yesterday. We learned of a startling assault on freedom of the press by the Department of Justice, following the revelation last week of the unprecedented information-gathering foray by that department against The Associated Press. Then, a few minutes later, the Justice Department’s inspector general released a report declaring that the US attorney in Arizona used the leak of a confidential memo to try to discredit a whistleblower in the notorious “gun-walking” scandal known as Fast and Furious (which got two federal agents killed). The leak was called “egregious.”

Stuart Varney said this morning on "Varney & Co." that one of his producers was given a questionnaire with some surprisingly intrusive questions on it when he switched doctors. One of the questions was whether he/she was concerned about unsecured weapons in the home. Another asked whether he/she was "in a relationship in which you have been physically hurt or are you afraid of your partner?" Judge Andrew Napolitano explained that the question about guns comes out of a post-Sandy Hook executive order by President Obama, but it will be required under Obamacare. Varney expressed amazement
