I don´t really want to secede, but I sure as Hell want NØbama to get the message that we the people are not happy and that he doesn´t have a mandate to complete his destruction of this country.

This doesn´t really accomplish anything, because all he has to do is say ´´no´´. But it is an embarrasment to the new messiah that thinks everyone just adores him.

We need to amend the Constitution so that we can have Free & Federal states. Free states are still part of the Union, pay a share of what the Constitution is responsible for--roads, military, etc, but otherwise are free to run their States as they please w/out any mandates and interference from the govt. Federal states can stay with DC rules, regulations & restrictions.

The founding fathers did not have a legal right to secede from the British Empire. They broke the law! They were clearly guilty of treason against the British Crown. There is nothing in the Constitution of the US that addresses a state´s desire to secede or opt out of the Union of the United States.

The last significant attempt to do this by the Southern states began by legislation by the individual states. But, as we know, Lincoln´s will (not the Constitution) was to use federal troops to force those states to remain.

I suspect that about 3 years of that and the red states will have to build walls to keep the mass migration of blues (and their obnoxious politics) out.

Texans are the only ones who harbor the notion that they were already a country when they joined the union by treaty and have an extraction clause in the agreement.

Signing the petition will send a message even if nothing comes of it. Obama did not win a mandate. The congress is still the same. They can and should exercise some power and not be so weak and timid. Dems never back down even when the lose.

13 colonies formed the United States all other states except Texas were either purchased or annexed.Most the annexed were stripped of their lands such as Idaho where 66% of the lands were owned by the federal gov. before the latest land protection grabs--now who knows?
Texas having won a war with Mexico was a free nation that voted to join the union on their terms including the right to leave if it didn´t work out.
Don´t jump into a constitutional session because the result could be the loss of all states rights. If not lost to world government the result could be a nation returned to House of Lords and peons and no Bill of Individual Rights plus a Prime
Minister and no Bill of Rights.

The White House is striking back: they´ve got a petition of their own asking that Obama sign an Executive Order to strip anybody who signed a secessionist petition of their American citizenship and deport them immediately.

Maybe that´s why Obama set up those regional ´detention centers´ a year ago and what all those bullets he purchased are for...

Really, all we have to do is kick California out of the Union. Actually, just Northern California would be enough.

27 States are challenging the Obamacare law and it´s making its way to the SC. We only need 7 more States to make call for a Constitutional Convention. This would mean we could eradicate 60 years of Socialism and Marxist experimentation from our 51st State, the DC based Federal Government.

There is now a petition to deport all those who signed petitions to secede. Sounds good to me. If we are deported that eliminates the need for passports! Good deal! Deport me! Please! I´ll go to either Canada or Scotland.

Although I support your right to seceede from our union, I don´t think submitting your name and Email address to a government website asking for permission to seceede is the right way to go.
