Troubling questions in the
Benghazi-Petraeus mess

Fox News, by Victoria Toensing

Something is rotten in Benghazi-Petraeus. But we cannot find the rot in these two tragedies because the information is classified and the administration remains silent at the pleasure of the press. Benghazi first: The CIA Libyan Chief of Station within 24 hours of the Tuesday September 11 attack on our consulate cabled CIA headquarters that it was carried out by militants and not in reaction to an obscure American-made internet video that criticized Islam’s Prophet Muhammed. Yet on Friday, September 14, Director of Central Intelligence, General David Petraeus, ignored his chief boot-on-the-ground and briefed the House Intelligence Committee,

Where has Victoria been hiding? This mess is made for her.

She cuts through all the clutter and gets down to the essence of why this is a very important story - and Petraeus´s "problems" cannot be looked at separately from the Benghazi murder investigation. His testimony is crucial. Only he can testify as to why he, contrary to what was said by his operative on the ground in Benghazi, said the attack was caused by the video.

So, since our new 9/11 in Benghazi we have Gen. Ham, head of AFRICOM at the time suddenly being relieved of command, then, resigning, we have the head of one of his battle groups relieved of command for some sort of mistake in professional judgement, we have Gen. Petraeus resignation from the CIA, and just yesterday came the news that our top commander in Afghanistan, Gen. John Allen, was also caught up in some sort of impropriety.

Is this just some awful, freakish, once in a lifetime series of coincidences, or is this a banana republic type purge of the military--done for reasons we are as yet unaware of?

The entire Petraeus story and his lie to the House on Benghazi scream "Obama blackmailed him". This is the real scandal, not the sex with Paula, the buxom Kelly or Petraeus´ distraught wife.

From Victoria´s article, with the identical fact from the Washington Post:

Consider: When Petraeus was nominated for DCI, there were “rumors” in Afghanistan about the duo and the extent of her access to him, according to well-respected foreign policy expert and Fox News national security analyst K.T. McFarland, who was on the ground there at the time.

This is serious, folks.

FTA: Or the sticky situation was used to pressure the DCI into backing the White House theory.

Bingo.

Of course Petraeus was probably blackmailed. He has still behaved abominably, and I don´t mean the sex.

#2 it begins to look like a purge of good generals - is he aiming to replace them with those are "gender challenged" or who will roll over to do whatever the impostor in chief wants?

Another question I want answered; who sent Susan Rice to all those Sunday talk shows? I believe this is important because it should have been PIAPS (Hillary) as Secretary of State. Did Hillary say "Hell No I will not do anything that stupid", thus proving she knew the truth at the time?

Why is every one beating around the bush about this story? Facts are simple : (1) Benghazi was a CIA holding house; (2) The admin knew about the affair on Sept 11th and held it over Petraeus´ head to tow the line. (3) Petraeus will be held responsible for the Benghazi attack and thrown under the bus. (4) The admin will use this as an excuse to cut defense budget (5) The LSM will shield Obama and claim its all about sex and the stupid Americans will believe it too.

If I wanted to purge the U.S. military of it´s patriot warriors and take the heat off my Administration for Benghazi, Fast & Furious and God knows what else, I know what I´d do.

Benghazi was a holding cell for prisoner interrogation. That is what they have been hiding.

Can you say ´WATERBOARDING?´

The actions comparable to Fast and Furious--gun running. Stevens was in Lybia prior to being announced as ambassador. They were trying to get the arms relocated to the islamist jihadist and rebels fighting in Syria. IMO, this is the core of the Benghazi operation. So, guess who else was involved.

Impeaching President

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Several days ago some fringe “conservatives” mentioned the idea of impeaching President Obama. For reasons as obvious as they are numerous, that is a terrible idea. Saying that is like throwing chum out to the worst conservatives, the ones who act like liberals, the ones who are all angry instinct, who rather than strategize their way to victory would rather sweep the pieces off the table and throw a tantrum on the floor. Serious and effective conservatism demands putting facts and reason above emotion and hysteria. Some comments concerning potential impeachment are so

Sen. Harry Reid said Wednesday that he will push to confirm more judges to the federal appeals court in Washington, D.C., after that court ruled earlier this year that President Obama’s broad use of recess appointment powers was unconstitutional. “You have a majority in that court that is wrecking havoc in the country. For the first time in 230 years, they ruled the president can’t make a recess appointment, so yes there is a crisis,” Mr. Reid, the chamber’s leader, said on the Senate floor as he begged for quick action on more of the president’s judicial nominees.

Mayor Bloomberg went on a spitting-mad rant against a city cab-fleet boss who won a court victory over Hizzoner’s planned “Taxi of Tomorrow” — vowing to “destroy your f--king industry” when he leaves office, The Post has learned. A fuming Bloomberg made the threat against Taxi Club Management CEO Gene Freidman at Madison Square Garden’s private 1879 Club during last Thursday’s Knick playoff game, a witness said yesterday. “It was like Gene had kidnapped his child. He used the f-word twice,” the witness said. Freidman confirmed the blow-up to The Post, and said Bloomberg’s tirade included the warning that,

According to Republican Rep. Jim Jordan and White House visitor logs, former IRS Commissioner Douglas Shulman visited the White House 118 times in 2010 and 2011. This is the same time period when Tea Party groups were inappropriately targeted and intimidated by the IRS. Testifying in front of lawmakers on Capitol Hill Wednesday, Shulman admitted that many of the meetings with the White House were to discuss how to implement ObamaCare. "The IRS has a major roll in the money flow," Shulman said. Shulman denied ever discussing 501c(4) groups with White House officials

Former Rep. Anthony Weiner, whose career in public life came to an abrupt end when he sent lewd pictures to a college student on Twitter, jumped back into politics on Wednesday by announcing a bid for mayor of New York City. “Look, I’ve made some big mistakes and I know I’ve let a lot of people down,” the Democrat said in a 2-minute video announcing his bid. “But I’ve also learned some tough lessons. I’m running for mayor because I’ve been fighting for the middle class and those struggling to make it for my entire life.

The dam protecting the IRS scandal began to crack today when Lois Lerner, the IRS official who announced, and apologized for, the improper singling out of conservative-leaning organizations by IRS employees under her command, announced through her criminal defense lawyer that she will not testify as scheduled tomorrow before the House Oversight Committee. Rather, she will assert her Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination. This marks an enormous milestone in the IRS investigation. It can now be taken as more or less established that crimes were committed by Obama administration employees. Lerner’s lawyer tried to minimize the significance

The wheels came off the Obama administration yesterday. We learned of a startling assault on freedom of the press by the Department of Justice, following the revelation last week of the unprecedented information-gathering foray by that department against The Associated Press. Then, a few minutes later, the Justice Department’s inspector general released a report declaring that the US attorney in Arizona used the leak of a confidential memo to try to discredit a whistleblower in the notorious “gun-walking” scandal known as Fast and Furious (which got two federal agents killed). The leak was called “egregious.”

WASHINGTON – A top IRS official in the division that reviews nonprofit groups will invoke the Fifth Amendment and refuse to answer questions before a House committee investigating the agency’s improper screening of conservative nonprofit groups. Lois Lerner, the head of the exempt organizations division of the IRS, won’t answer questions about what she knew about the improper screening – or why she didn’t reveal it to Congress, according to a letter from her defense lawyer, William W. Taylor 3rd. Lerner was scheduled to appear before the House Oversight committee Wednesday.

Former Democratic National committee chairman Howard Dean considers the controversy over Benghazi a “joke” and “silly.” “Benghazi is a laughable joke,” Dean proclaimed twice in a discussion with Republican National Committee communications chairman Sean Spicer last week. “With all due respect, governor, when four Americans die serving this country, that’s not a joke, sir,” Spicer responded. “Oh, stop it,” said Dean. The former Democratic presidential candidate also said that there were “no serious questions being asked about Benghazi” and brushed it off as an effort by Republicans to score political points.

House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Darrell Issa said embattled IRS official Lois Lerner waived her Fifth Amendment rights and will be hauled back to appear before his panel again. The California Republican said Lerner’s Fifth Amendment right to avoid self-incrimination was voided when she gave an opening statement this morning denying any wrongdoing and professing pride in her government service. “When I asked her her questions from the very beginning, I did so so she could assert her rights prior to any statement,” Issa told POLITICO. “She chose not to do so — so she waived.”
