WASHINGTON- Labor leaders planned to press U.S. President Barack Obama Tuesday to stay strong in his push for higher taxes on upper-income earners, labor officials said. "We´re not asking anyone to do anything that is politically courageous. It´s not politically courageous to implement the broad mandate that the president and Democrats received to raise taxes on the top 2 percent," AFL-CIO spokesman Jeff Hauser told The Wall Street Journal ahead of the 11:30 a.m. White House meeting. "Clearly there was a mandate from this election. The American people are with the president on taxing the wealthiest Americans," Service Employees

Notice the subtle sleight of hand?

Raise taxes on "top 2%"?!

What happened to the top 1%? Remember "we are the 99%" and the Occupy protests?

This is what the people voted for. It´s true and while we don´t have to vote for it - we really cannot stop it.

The more important thing to stop is the EPA´s and the Dept of the Interior´s attempts to engineer ENERGY SUICIDE for the country.

"Broad Mandate"??? Really??

The vote was 51% to 49% and a heck of alot of that was questionable, like with 56 districts in Philadelphia taking about 65000 votes and not a single one was for Romney!? There was no mandate Hauser, you union thug! Unless of course you mean that there was a mandate at the union hall.

Start with the labor bosses. Hey, Obama! fork it over! Clintons, you multi-millionaires, you, too! shovel it over (fork would be too small for anything over 10 mill). Let all the loudmouths who think looting the rich will do the trick, let them see how ridiculous this is.

Here´s what´ll happen: before long, "rich" will be defined down again and again.

This is what happened in the Soviet Union. Once all the aristocrats, bourgeoisie, manager class were drained (and/or killed, driven into exile or escaped), they had to turn to the only group still about, namely the peasantry.

So before long, kulaks (peasants) became the hated exploiters, the "rich." A rich peasant might have a cow AND a pig, or two farm implements rather than one.

To put it another way, "sooner or later you run out of other people´s money."

Now, if we were to cheer these people on, give them the ok to tax the Hollywood crowd, all of BO´s buds, all of those in Congress who´ve been pushing for this, let it be voluntary! (we know compulsion will follow)

The Obama Administration fought to keep a search warrant for James Rosen’s private e-mail account secret, arguing to a federal judge that the government might need to monitor the account for a lengthy period of time. The new details are revealed in a court filing detailing a back and forth between the Justice Department and the federal judges who oversaw the request to search a Gmail account belonging to Rosen, a reporter for Fox News. A 2009 article Rosen had written about North Korea sparked an investigation; Ronald C. Machen, Jr., the U.S. Attorney who is prosecuting Stephen Jin-Woo Kim,

As Democrats and the media continue to hammer Virginia lieutenant governor hopeful E.W. Jackson for his past comments on social issues, the Christian minister says he is battling what he calls the “mainstream media’s caricature” of him. In an email sent to The Daily Caller this week, the running mate to Republican gubernatorial candidate Ken Cuccinelli said “every one of those comments has a context and were spoken in my role as a minister, not as a candidate.” In particular, the black Republican took issue with the media’s outrage over his comments on abortion.

Massachusetts Senate hopeful Gabriel Gomez is outraged at how his Democratic contender, Rep. Ed Markey, is portraying him, accusing Ed Markey of low-blow politics that cross ethical lines. “You know, I’ve got four young kids and they gotta sit there and gotta see an ad with their dad, who’s a SEAL, who served honorably, talk to anybody I served with … and for him to be as dirty and low, pond scum, to like put me up there next to bin Laden, he’s just gotta be called what he is. That simple,” said Mr. Gomez, the GOP nominee

Politico reporter Jonathan Martin is jumping from the six-year-old politics site to become the national political correspondent for the New York Times. A release from the New York Times says this is a big move: The job is a storied and special one at The Times, and has been home to such giants as Robin Toner, Adam Nagourney, Rick Berke, and, of course, R. W. Apple. As big a move as it is for the New York Times, it may be double for Politico, for Martin offers the sort of reporting that the site badly needs.

We’ve seen a number of disastrous appearances by administration figures and a couple outstanding ones from State Department whistleblowers. Here’s some tips for those who follow: 1. Don’t lie. As I pointed out earlier today, Eric Holder both in writing to a court and in testimony to the House created some real questions about his role in the James Rosen subpoena. Other conservatives spotted a more egregious statement (if in fact he signed off on the affidavit): “In regard to potential prosecution of the press for the disclosure of material, this is not something I’ve ever been involved in,

President Barack Obama told graduating midshipmen at the Naval Academy on Friday that the nation needs them to "project power across the oceans" and vowed to continue to fight for military resources for their missions in the face of deep federal budget cuts. Speaking through a cold and building rain, the president told the 1,047 graduates and nearly 36,000 attendees gathered for the Naval Academy´s 163rd commencement that they represent an institution that has maintained the nation´s trust at a time when Americans have lost faith in other organizations. ANNAPOLIS, Md.- President Barack Obama, referring to sex assaults in the military, reminded U.S. Naval Academy graduates Friday honor is "what you do when nobody´s looking." Obama, delivering the commencement address at the Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in Annapolis, Md., reminded the new officers "the misconduct of some can have effects that ripple far and wide." He urged the graduates to do four things: "Live with integrity, and speak with honesty, and take responsibility and demand accountability. We need your honor and we need your courage." The public got its first look Thursday at Lois Lerner, who has gone from faceless IRS bureaucrat to the face that launched what feels like 1,000 congressional hearings and conspiracy theories. But it was only a brief sighting since she didn´t stay long at a House hearing to further probe her role in how some IRS workers came to target conservative groups seeking tax-exempt status. (Snip)She did make a short statement to declare her innocence, however. Lerner´s motivation was more transparent than much of what the IRS has done in connection with this controversy. She was determined to

When you get right down to it, the political targeting and stalling of tax-exempt applications by the IRS was an effort to defund the Tea Party. Rick Santelli, one of the Tea Party founders and my CNBC colleague, was the first to make this point. I’ve taken it a step further: The IRS was taking the Tea Party out of play for the 2012 election, as it looked to avoid a repeat of 2010 and another Tea Party landslide. There are a lot of numbers out there.

What´s so interesting about 60 tea partiers protesting the IRS in San Jose, California on Tuesday, May 21st? The fact that this bit of information was conveyed to the protesters by a Department of Homeland Security officer who was also in attendance. President Obama on Thursday nominated Victoria Nuland, a State Department official involved in the editing of the administration´s talking points on Benghazi, to be the next assistant secretary of state for European and Eurasian affairs. Nuland, a career foreign service officer who was until recently State´s top spokesperson, had long been expected to be nominated the post to replace Philip Gordon, who Obama picked to serve as Middle East coordinator for the National Security Council. Nuland´s nomination -- which requires Senate confirmation -- could come under scrutiny from Republicans who see her as playing a central role in shaping

Conservative radio host Mark Levin is very skeptical of the idea that President Obama had absolutely no idea about the IRS tea party targeting before the story broke in the news mere weeks ago. Levin declared adamantly that it is a “flat-out, bald-faced lie” that Obama didn’t know beforehand, citing prior reports by a few conservative news outlets picking up on the news well before the 2012 presidential election. Levin said, “I don’t believe for two seconds that Obama wasn’t aware of this.”

On “Fox News Sunday” last weekend, White House aide Dan Pfeiffer was asked about President Barack Obama’s whereabouts the night of the Sept. 11 attack in Benghazi. This was the night when we lost our first ambassador in 30 years, and when three other Americans were killed in an attack that lasted all night long at multiple locations within the eastern Libyan city. Since the president is commander in chief, one would think where he was and what he did during such an event would be of obvious public concern.
