Women with driver’s licenses
now outnumber men

Women have passed men on the nation’s roads. More women than men now have driver’s licenses, a reversal of the longtime behind-the-wheel gap that transportation researchers say is likely to have safety and economic implications. If current trends continue, the gap will only widen. The share of teens and young adults of both sexes with driver’s licenses is declining, but the decline is greater for young men, according to a study by the University of Michigan´s Transportation Research Institute. The study looked at trends in driver’s licenses from 1995 to 2010.

Another grim indication that we are living in the end of America as we know it.

This may account for all the drivers I see turning left into the wrong lane while talking on a cell phone.

White men - a dying breed? That´s OK, they´re stupid anyway if you watch any TV commercials at all.

It´s okay. Democrat initiatives to provide licenses to illegals will have both male and female Americans in the hospital or auto body shop soon.

Not only that, but now women with really dumb voting habits now outnumber men too. In one case, you get a wrecked car. In the other, a wrecked country.

That´s because so many of the people on the road are illegals and not every state allows licenses for them. Obama and the dims will take care of that for us.

If you don´t need an idea to vote, why would ANYONE think you would need a license to drive? Jeeesh.

Expect more TV commercials and bobble head talk TV to show women how to put make up on with the visor mirror in a car doing 90 mph while chatting on a cell phone and driving with your knees. At least they won´t be texting.

ZM, very funny! I´ve always made it a practice to not look in the rear-view mirror until AFTER I have applied the lipstick....

Seriously, though, one of the things I´ve always regretted about not being married is that I don´t have a chauffeur. I would gladly give up responsibility for driving.

Once the "wigger" teens caught on that the easy path in life was to hook-up with a girl who works and has a car, half the teens I see have a girl driving a loser boy around town.

Two things: First: The general decline in young people driving has to correlate to: a - The cost of car ownership. b - They have a higher rate of unemployment.

Second: Fully 20% of the young men working in my factory have lost their licenses.

California Unemployment Holds
Steady at Dismal 8.1%

California’s unemployment rate is rotten and holding steady. In March, according to the Los Angeles Times, the rate was 8.1%. In February, it was exactly the same. The Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that the state only added 11,800 net new jobs in March, many of them in construction, government, education, and health services. The greatest gains were in professional and business services, with 3,100 new positions. But the jobs numbers in hospitality, manufacturing, and leisure dipped, and the biggest drop came in financial activities, as the slowing rate of mortgages forced banks to fire employees. The field of finance

On Easter weekend, Diogo Morgado portraying Jesus Christ is on screens everywhere. Morgado is the star of Son of God, by executive producers Mark Burnett and wife Roma Downey, which continues to thrive in theaters, pulling in $59 million since its debut Feb. 28. Downey believes there will be a "spike" in attendance at theaters this weekend because of the spiritual holiday for a film that has already proved a box-office force. "People are in that head-space and in that heart-space. It´s that time of the year where people are much more reflective and much more open to connecting with

SCARBOROUGH, Maine- John C. Houbolt, an engineer whose contributions to the U.S. space program were vital to NASA´s successful moon landing in 1969, has died. He was 95. Houbolt died Tuesday at a nursing home in Scarborough, Maine, of complications from Parkinson´s disease, his son-in-law Tucker Withington, of Plymouth, Mass., confirmed Saturday. As NASA describes on its website, while under pressure during the U.S.-Soviet space race, Houbolt was the catalyst in securing U.S. commitment to the science and engineering theory that eventually carried the Apollo crew to the moon and back safely. His efforts in the early 1960s are largely

Democrats have a problem and everyone knows it. President Obama calls it a “congenital disease.” If they can’t control it, Obama could spend the final years of his presidency battling not only a Republican House but also a Republican Senate. Democrats don’t vote in midterm elections. That’s an exaggeration, of course, but the core of the Democratic coalition is made up of many people who turn out to vote only in presidential elections. The Republican coalition — older and whiter — suffers less from midterm falloff. So much has been made of the building blocks the president assembled to win his

Once the province of activists and stoners, the traditional pot holiday of April 20 has gone mainstream in the first state in the nation to legalize recreational marijuana. Tens of thousands gathered for a weekend of Colorado cannabis-themed festivals and entertainment, from a marijuana industry expo called the Cannabis Cup at a trade center north of downtown, to 4/20-themed concerts at the legendary Red Rocks Amphitheater — acts include Slightly Stoopid and Snoop Dog — to a massive festival in the shadow of the state capitol where clouds of cannabis smoke are expected to waft at 4:20 p.m. MDT Sunday.

Last night, Chris Hayes face off against Assemblywoman Michele Fiore over the ongoing saga of the Bundy Ranch. Fiore reminds us why we love TV. (Video) Fiore for the win! The Assemblywoman is feisty, unflappable, stays on message, goes at Hayes hard, and comes out looking great. A terrific segment and a good interview by Hayes, amazingly enough. The best part was when she left him flat-footed right at the end after catching him with the slaughter question. Although Hayes salvages the moment for himself with the barbecue crack. The White House is going to war with another fox — and this time, it’s personal. The Wall Street Journal reports that a red fox has been causing chaos around the White House, tripping security alarms, digging up Michelle’s garden and distracting the president from his duties. The Secret Service won’t give any details about how often the fox trips the White House’s obviously sophisticated security alarms, but rest assured, officials say, they’re watching. President Obama was apparently “stunned” to see the fox roaming freely down the oft-photographed White House colonnade, home to the world’s shortest, but most dramatic, outdoor strolls. A group of seven multiracial Washington and Lee University (W&L) students are demanding the school remove all Confederate flags from campus and "acknowledge" General Robert E. Lee´s "dishonorable side." According to the Roanoke Times, "seven multiracial students, calling themselves ´The Committee,´" have also demanded the school "acknowledge and apologize for participating in chattel slavery." They want recognition of "Martin Luther King Jr. Day on the undergraduate campus" and an end to "neo-Confederates" marching across campus "to the Lee Chapel on Lee-Jackson Day." The students say they will "engage in civil disobedience" if their demands are not met by September 1st. They added: "The

For Hillary Clinton, having her own baby grandchild to kiss on the campaign trail, could be one of the biggest boosts to her possible presidential election campaign. Although the former Secretary of State and First Lady has not said if she will run in 2016, the arrival of her first grandchild will soften her image, analysts have said. While Chelsea only revealed her pregnancy on Thursday, supporters of her mother have already started cooing over a possible baby in the White House. With the Clintons having a near-royal status in the U.S., the announcement of a new arrival due this fall has sent

GREENSBORO, Ga. — Golf holes the size of pizzas. Soccer balls on the back nine. A mulligan on every hole. These are some of the measures — some would say gimmicks — that golf courses across the country have experimented with to stop people from quitting the game. Golf has always reveled in its standards and rich tradition. But increasingly a victim of its own image and hidebound ways, golf has lost five million players in the last decade, according to the National Golf Foundation, with 20 percent of the existing 25 million golfers apt to quit in the next few years. People under 35 have especially spurned the game, saying it takes too

Hi, everybody. For millions of Americans, this time of year holds great meaning. Earlier this week, we hosted a Passover Seder at the White House, and joined Jewish families around the world in their re-tellings of the story of the Exodus and the victory of faith over oppression. And this Sunday, Michelle, Malia, Sasha, and I will join our fellow Christians around the world in celebrating the Resurrection of Christ, the salvation he offered the world, and the hope that comes with the Easter season. These holy days have their roots in miracles that took place long ago. And yet, they still inspire us, guide us, and strengthen us today. They remind us of our

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said Thursday that a family of dissident ranchers and their supporters in his home state of Nevada are ´domestic terrorists,´ citing this week´s standoff with the federal government´s Bureau of Land Management. Cliven Bundy has refused to pay grazing fees for land where his hundreds of cattle roam every day. The land is owned by the federal government, which says he owes more than $1 million. Bundy, however, insists that since his family has been using the land since the 1870s, Uncle Sam can´t collect the grazing fees. A tense standoff developed this week after
