| Soul-searching is not in the GOP’s blood. Many Republicans see themselves as stoic, rugged and hardworking individuals. But after twice losing the White House to an ex-community organizer and failing to mobilize the base, Republicans need to take a trip to a mountainous valley, sip some tea and meditate. In the quiet of nature, I think Republicans would find that the solutions to winning lie within themselves. #1 Keep an open mind - Early on, talking heads like Ann Coulter disparaged Romney and endorsed other candidates. 1-Dump the social policy. Right wing social engineering is as toxic as Left.
2-Concentrate on Free Markets and Limited Government.
3-Promote the Marketplace of Ideas over the Dogma of PC.
4-Establish an air-tight voting system.

May I point out that Neither Mr Romney nor Mr Ryan won their OWN States. We have to choose candidates that can at the very least win their own states. If you don´t win the election, it does not matter how good your candidate was.

Agree wholeheartedly with author. This reminds me of the warning we got from Jack Welch about dissing Ron Paul at the convention (which was done). He said that we would lose the fervor of a big chunk of young voters. Judging from post election polls, we did just that.

Because the social policies of the base are not what the majority of the electorate will tolerate or vote for, #3. You may be motivated, but you lose national elections.

The libtards cheated massively. The current pubbie officials in various states left the loopholes allowing such cheating. When the libtards lose they don´t go around saying they have to change. Time to man up and call a spade a spade. And right now work on prosecuting every cheating libtard in every state. (Preferably by public hanging. You´ll note Walker in FL has lawyered up.) And if libtards run the legal system in a particular state and thus won´t enforce the laws - meet the libtards in an alley with a 2x4 and explain the error of their ways to them.

Clean up the voter rolls, stop having open primaries and tighten up the voting process and we MIGHT win an election again. Until then, nah.

Mea Culpa on the re-post, but.....
Freedom of Religion and expression and though and relationship requires that one tolerate life styles that one may find objectionable. We can become the true "Liberals" by establishing a government that actually leaves people alone to explore all the options that confront everyone.
You will be a better Christian when you stop asking the government to promote Christianity.
Yes, of course, we all know that the government is anti-Christian at the moment but that is why religion must be removed from the whole discussion.
I don´t care if people want to marry three midgets and a lovely farm animal.
Just keep the government out of my damnbidness.

Navel gazing is so much fun. #1 Absolutely. I believe abortion is murder, and I also believe it´s not a federal government issue. Unfortunately, no GOP candidate knows how to handle social issues. Lincoln knew how to oppose slavery and get elected. Reagan knew how to be a conservative and get elected. Two candidates in 150 years. Unless you know what you are doing, don´t play with dynamite. If you are GOP and you talk about social issues, you will lose.

#5, dumping social conservatives may sound like good policy to you on the face of it, but you´ve got to remember to key points:
1). becoming an echo of the Democrats will leave few people with an incentive to vote GOP, when they can get the real thing with the Dems. You won´t make up the loss of a key constituency on numbers, however appealing that notion might be right now.
2). Most important, it must be understood that where we stand on the core concept of republican government - that men are endowed BY THEIR CREATOR with certain INALIENABLE rights - is the key to the whole ball of wax. How can anyone logically defend the right to build a business and reap its rewards, or keep and bear arms, without also speaking up for the rights of defenseless children in the womb?
Social conservatism and economic conservatism are two side of the same coin. That is the way of the world as God ordered it, and we have to recognize that. That is not to say that I have some blueprint for electoral success, I don´t. But on the other hand, neither do you and those inclined to agree with you.

Sorry folks but I will not give up my values just so some other human can become POTUS. I will always vote the Bible and be proud of it. You cannot ignore abortion and homosexuality any more than you can ignore murder, rape and robbery. They are all sins according to the Word.

Easy. Get rid of the establishment repubs and replace them with tea party patriots.
There, that was easy.
It´s not complicated.

Voter fraud, schools as indoctrination camps and propaganda disguised as news and entertainment all mean we will always find ourselves on the losing side--unless we can regain control of those things.

First the good news: In the last 11,300 years, humans have endured a planet warmer than today´s, even as they set about building their earliest civilizations. Now the bad news: That will no longer be true 87 years from now, according to scientists who have conducted a comprehensive analysis of the planet´s climate history since the world´s ice sheets began their most recent retreat from North America and Europe.

The state of Florida is gearing up for a massive python hunting contest in the Everglades starting on Saturday. But an animal rights group is calling for the state to ban decapitation as a method of killing the giant snakes. Decapitation is one of three lethal methods the state has authorized in the Python Challenge. The contest, which has cash prizes, is attracting hunters from all over the U.S. to help the state fight an infestation of non-native Burmese pythons. But Lori Kettler, with People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, says decapitation cannot possibly be humane. Headline split by staff

Former Rep. Anthony Weiner, whose career in public life came to an abrupt end when he sent lewd pictures to a college student on Twitter, jumped back into politics on Wednesday by announcing a bid for mayor of New York City. “Look, I’ve made some big mistakes and I know I’ve let a lot of people down,” the Democrat said in a 2-minute video announcing his bid. “But I’ve also learned some tough lessons. I’m running for mayor because I’ve been fighting for the middle class and those struggling to make it for my entire life.

The dam protecting the IRS scandal began to crack today when Lois Lerner, the IRS official who announced, and apologized for, the improper singling out of conservative-leaning organizations by IRS employees under her command, announced through her criminal defense lawyer that she will not testify as scheduled tomorrow before the House Oversight Committee. Rather, she will assert her Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination. This marks an enormous milestone in the IRS investigation. It can now be taken as more or less established that crimes were committed by Obama administration employees. Lerner’s lawyer tried to minimize the significance

The wheels came off the Obama administration yesterday. We learned of a startling assault on freedom of the press by the Department of Justice, following the revelation last week of the unprecedented information-gathering foray by that department against The Associated Press. Then, a few minutes later, the Justice Department’s inspector general released a report declaring that the US attorney in Arizona used the leak of a confidential memo to try to discredit a whistleblower in the notorious “gun-walking” scandal known as Fast and Furious (which got two federal agents killed). The leak was called “egregious.”

WASHINGTON – A top IRS official in the division that reviews nonprofit groups will invoke the Fifth Amendment and refuse to answer questions before a House committee investigating the agency’s improper screening of conservative nonprofit groups. Lois Lerner, the head of the exempt organizations division of the IRS, won’t answer questions about what she knew about the improper screening – or why she didn’t reveal it to Congress, according to a letter from her defense lawyer, William W. Taylor 3rd. Lerner was scheduled to appear before the House Oversight committee Wednesday.

House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Darrell Issa said embattled IRS official Lois Lerner waived her Fifth Amendment rights and will be hauled back to appear before his panel again. The California Republican said Lerner’s Fifth Amendment right to avoid self-incrimination was voided when she gave an opening statement this morning denying any wrongdoing and professing pride in her government service. “When I asked her her questions from the very beginning, I did so so she could assert her rights prior to any statement,” Issa told POLITICO. “She chose not to do so — so she waived.”

Former Democratic National committee chairman Howard Dean considers the controversy over Benghazi a “joke” and “silly.” “Benghazi is a laughable joke,” Dean proclaimed twice in a discussion with Republican National Committee communications chairman Sean Spicer last week. “With all due respect, governor, when four Americans die serving this country, that’s not a joke, sir,” Spicer responded. “Oh, stop it,” said Dean. The former Democratic presidential candidate also said that there were “no serious questions being asked about Benghazi” and brushed it off as an effort by Republicans to score political points.
