MSNBC´s Chris Jansing: ´Parallels´
Between Lincoln and Reelected
Obama Are ´Fascinating´

MSNBC host Chris Jansing on Monday found the "parallels" between Abraham Lincoln and the newly reelected Barack Obama to be "fascinating." The anchor interviewed Gloria Reuben, liberal actress and co-star of the just-released Steven Spielberg biography of the 16th president. Jansing compared, "...You have a president who is newly elected, who faces a divided divided Congress and a divided country." [See video below. MP3 audio here.] Couldn´t such a vague analogy be made of many presidents, including George W. Bush? Jansing introduced the Lincoln actress by pointing out, "You´re a social activist.

Comments:
Barf alert!! The anti-American 0bama couldn´t be more of an antithesis to Lincoln. It´s a gross insult to Lincoln. And to think we have to suffer through four more years of this.

What does he mean? That we should beef up security for Obama cause we all know what happened to Lincoln.

Ha! many have read the life of Lincoln and the Civil War. Obama is no Lincoln and to make a comparison is just plain stupid.

Obama cannot hold a candle to Lincoln. He, Obama, takes no ownership for anything. He
removes himself from all situations ex. trip to ASIA ( Benghazi, Fast and
furious, Betraus, etc.)

Okay, they´ve compared him to Jesus Christ, Ronald Reagan, Abe Lincoln, Ghandi, Churchill, etc, etc. So much blah, blah, blah trying to convince us and themselves that he´s a really good president. Talk to me in four years.

One is a certifilable goon politician with a long record of failure and the other has earned the description of being perhaps the greatest president in the long history of our country. Care to guess which one is which?

Laughable.
Yea, they both had/have demanding, ´´interesting´´ wives who liked to spend a buck, but, really...

Lincoln was a leader.
He led.
He took responsibility.
He worked his tail off.
His words were inspired, not hollow.
He didn´t whine about Buchanan.
Need we go on.

Let´s see how Obama handles the huge succession movement that´s going to sweep the country the next year.

Lincoln was tormented over the country being divided,Obama is relishing in it.I´ll never be convinced the civil war was about slavery either.

Sally Field is in the new Lincoln movie, that alone will make me stay home. She should have retired after the flying nun.

Researchers at Princeton and Northwestern universities have pored over 1,800 US policies and concluded that America is an oligarchy. Instead of looking out for the majority of the country’s citizens, the US government is ruled by the interests of the rich and the powerful, they found. No great surprises there, then. But the government is not the only American power whose motivations need to be rigourously examined. Some 2,400 miles away from Washington, in Silicon Valley, Google is aggressively gaining power with little to keep it in check. It has cosied up to governments around the world so effectively that its chairman,

Then-Sens. Joe Biden and John Kerry were both opposed to Hillary Clinton’s 1993 health-care reform program, according to documents released by the Clinton presidential library. Clinton marked a handwritten “No” beside Biden’s name on Clinton’s list of Capitol Hill lawmakers that she needed to win over for her universal health care law, known as the “Clinton health plan” or “Hillarycare,” to pass. John Kerry, meanwhile, was marked with a “Probably not.” “Hillarycare” ended up dying in the Democratic-controlled Senate in 1994 without coming to a floor vote. Wayne Crews of the Competitive Enterprise Institute and Alexis de Tocqueville, author of the classic Democracy in America, were born in different times and places. But the French aristocrat and American think tanker have the measure of the federal behemoth in the age of Obama. Writing in 1835, Tocqueville eloquently predicted how it would function, while Crews today supplies in his annual compilation of federal rules and regulations, “10,000 Commandments,” the hard numbers that describe the behemoth´s contemporary reach and costs. It is always worthwhile to revisit de Tocqueville’s description of what he called the

Prominent Washington correspondents are accusing President Obama and his aides of knowingly stretching the truth on issues like the so-called women´s pay gap just to create controversy and keep issues -- and the president -- relevant. Washington Post columnist Ruth Marcus kicked off the attack last week when she blasted as “demagoguery” the administration´s tactics during the pay gap debate. “The level of hyperbole -- actually, of demagoguery -- that Democrats have engaged in here is revolting,” she wrote. President Obama addressed the White House press corps today, announcing that with the final numbers in, Obamacare´s exchanges have attracted eight million sign-ups -- 35 percent of whom are "under the age of 35," he said. Several elements of his comments were misleading: (1) At first blush, the 35 percent stat is both significant and impressive. As recently as last month, the share of "young invincibles" signing up for plans was struggling in the 25 percent range, far short of the actuarial target of nearly 40 percent. A leap into the mid-30´s, while still shy of the goal, would constitute a major step, and would bode well for the risk pools'

Second, the Obama administration, clearly embarrassed by these lavish and frequent family vacations, stonewalls the release of records at every turn. Imagine a vendor on the National Mall, selling burgers and dogs, who hasn’t paid his rent in 20 years. He refuses to recognize his landlord, the National Park Service, as a legitimate authority. Every court has ruled against him, and fines have piled up. What’s more, the effluents from his food cart are having a detrimental effect on the spring grass in the capital. Would an armed posse come to his defense, aiming their guns at the park police? Would the lawbreaker get prime airtime on Fox News, breathless updates in the Drudge Report, a sympathetic ear from Tea Party Republicans?
