There were many factors that hurt Mitt Romney and favored Barack Obama in the 2012 presidential election. The Democrats portrayed Romney in the worst light possible; as a wealthy, out of touch millionaire who wanted to return women to the 1800´s. The left wing media predictably did everything it could to perpetuate that false caricature. Obama´s race was an advantage; voters of all persuasions, particularly minorities, still cannot get over the allure of the first black president. The 47% of Americans on welfare were predisposed to vote for the food stamp president over
Comments: Likely?? I would say it´s pretty much a given the criminals in the regime stole the election. Gary Johnson helped them along.
Ms. Wood writes a comforting article (we didn´t lose, they stole it), but really only discusses Ohio. Democrats have been stealing Ohio since at least the Nixon/Kennedy election. Even if we accept that Florida, also, was won through vote fraud, those two states switching sides would not have given Romney the victory. Certainly vote fraud is an enormous problem and something must be done (no, I don´t know what), but there are many more factors that carried Obama again. We cannot get past the almost unanimous black vote for him. We also can´t ignore the failure of our own to turn out in the numbers Mitt Romney had been assured he could expect. We told pollsters we were definitely enthusiastic and we were definitely going to vote for Romney and then we stayed home.
It seems to me that a Republican Governor Kasich should have been prepared for the fraud in his Ohio. Why wasn´t he? And what does he intend to do about it in the future?
Ron Paul witholding votes by not throwing support to Mitt shares the blame with the lame Gary Johnson IMO.
The commie left wing of the dems do not go second party and they are winning. What part of Communism don´t the Libertarians like? Looking for or fostering liberty in all the wrong places, guys. First ys gotta win but being hybrids, Libertarians win a half glass not matter who overcomes at the polls. Can´t exactly call it a win with stacked decks.
Michael Savage said it immediately: "There are millions of [illegals]. Not only the millions that Obama openly granted amnesty to with the so-called Dream Act, but the millions who are here illegally who have no right to vote.
But because the illegal, illicit Democratic Party fought the states that wanted a strict voter ID requirement in order to vote – we´re the only Western nation that doesn´t require it – that is how they got the election again."
Likely??? Shout it from the roof tops with a megaphone. That was not an election, it was a bloodless coup d ta. Democracy died on 11/6/2012 and we all seem to wander around in a daze as if nothing has happened. We deserve what we get from here on out. The road to hell is richly deserved.
Philadelphia Rs put over 500 new R Table Officials by Court Order [Minority Inspectors and Clerks] in Divisions where none had worked before. [This in addition to the 1000+ election Divisions where R Table workers regularly sit, and numerous Poll Watchers]
Many new Rs officials were not allowed to sit or even be inside Polling Places till the afternoon. The ´GOP Lawyers´ were overwhelmed and often did not respond for 4+ hours to distress calls. [also they reputedly were not prepared to adequately defend the Table Workers]
*A lot of voting fraud can take place in 15 minutes, let alone 4 hours.
*In Philadelphia, people are regularly taken from place to place to vote under phoney [not them] names on the street list. D Table Judges of Election regularly give ´illegal assistance´ inside voting machines. Also D Table workers also sign for absent ´voters´ on the books, and go in and vote for these ´non-present voters´
PS many divisions ran out of the allotted 40 ´Provisional ballots´ intended for voters at a poll, not on the street list.
NOTE The D Chief Election Commissioner was on NPR and TV speaking out against voter ID, prior to the Judicial ruling against it for this all-important election.
Voter ID will not help id D collusion on the Election Board Table does not enforce it.
Felons in Pa can be Election Judges, and NO D Table officials have [in recent memory] been charged with Election fraud, let alone convicted.
If you go to the DMV in California to get a drivers licence, they electronically register your thumbprint when you check in at the first counter. Every test area you visit after that in the process they again check your print against the original. That stops someone else from taking your eye test, written test or driving test. They wouldn´t have instituted this procedure if there hadn´t been countless problems of cheating the system.
Most medical institutions I go to have a palm print machine which is entered into their computer system. Whenever you check in to one of their facilities, this imprint identifies you and they have your records at hand. It is efficient and doesn´t violate anyone´s so called rights. That is of course unless you think cheating is covered under the criminal bill of rights.
Why then isn´t a system like this instituted for voting. That thumb or palm print should be required when you register to vote. If you register twice or vote more than once you would automatically be disqualified from the current vote count and from ever voting again. Cheating in today´s elections is rampant and it has to stop. Someone should take this to the Supreme Court while there is still a majority of sane people on the court (I´m counting Roberts).
After all, didn´t the Supreme Court affirm a one man one vote rule under a liberal Warren court. Enforce it or go under.
Blah blah blah blah. Unless you can provide hard evidence of it on a scale that affected the outcome, all you are doing is providing self-pitying excuses that get in the way of a cold-blooded analysis of the loss. Might as well suggest that space aliens intervened. It´s about that useful.
We need to start making states accountable for their voter fraud.
Perhaps we need to start talking about disqualifying a state´s electoral votes in a Presidential election if they are found to be doing little to curb voter fraud.
It´s not hard to put a lid on this crap. Voter ID, registration at least 30 days ahead of time, reliable voting methods such as punch cards and writing in ballots, laws that protect election overseers from both parties.
Seriously, when are we going to say enough and really start putting the screws to this?
Phila Rs have overturned a State Senate Election, based on phoney Absentee Ballots, ..... but it´s almost impossible to get a conviction against D Table officials, if the R ´watchdog´ Court Ordered Table Officials are barred from the polls.
Ds in Phila think Voter Fraud is ´no big deal´ and doesn´t really count ...... it´s gone on so long and with the tacit approval of previous DAs etc, that it´s the regular way of doing business.
´Money talks ..... b---t walks´ and unfortunately too many people are ´for sale´.
$10 per polling place for those in the van in 2010 was the rate. .
Okay, so there is voter fraud. We know that. The problem is not that Romney lost the popular vote by a little over 2-1/2%. The problem is that Romney lost all but one swing state, resulting in an electoral victory for -0-bama of 332 to 206 – which is not even close. Voter fraud in Ohio and a million votes for Johnson don’t begin to explain 11 million voters who stayed home, or the losses in all of the other swing states.
Simple explanations like “voter fraud” and blaming conservatives prevent the GOP from doing any actual self-assessment. Blaming others for your defeat is petty, whiny and juvenile. We ran the moderate (again) and lost (again) – a loss which included a huge swath of moderates and potential cross-over voters who opted to stay home rather than cast a vote for the “electable” candidate.
#29 is spot on. The bigger issue is that Romney was a weak candidate fighting an uphill battle. Me too liberalism can´t win over genuine liberalism.
There are a lot of conservative policies that are enormously popular. The GOP needs to find a candidate who can articulate those policies (here´s a hint: someone who doesn´t refer to himself as "severely conservative").
Every time I think back - and heck, even AT the time - to the past few weeks on Fox News´s The Five, Bob Beckel just seemed way overly confident that Obama would win. His attitude, and how he looked at the others, and things he said had me seriously wondering before the election if he knew something.
I recall last summer he was gone for a week or so, and when he came back he was sharper and more caustic in his comments and I mentioned to DH - jokingly! - that it seemed as if Bob had been away at Re-Education Camp. And now I´m thinking HE WAS, and HE DID know.
No proof, of course - this is a lame, factless hunch I have, but I´m convinced of it.
We had illegals being registered to vote out here in Las Vegas by the local Culinary Union (and SEIU), and even the ones who knew they couldn´t vote here were PRESSURED to do so anyway, under threat of losing their jobs in the hotels, casinos and restaurants here.
The Las Vegas tourism industry underbelly.
Consider the vote count and electoral totals. Those broad spans of numbers can mean only one thing: That the libs overdid it to the point it´s painfully obvious. One in fifty vehicles out here had Obama stickers on them, ZERO yard signs, while I saw many for Romney-Ryan.
I was listening to the radio last night (I don´t know the host´s name) but he said that in many of the Republican leaning precincts--where people stood in line for upwards of 3 hours--the final count reflected only 80% to 85% participation.
He also said that 0bama won with over 10 million fewer votes than he got in 2008.
And "well liked" Romney received 3 million fewer votes than "not liked" McCain.
He was implying there is something wrong with those vote totals.
Later, he was discussing the electronic voting machines and said if any part of one´s finger was more than 1/4 inch outside the icon for Romney, the vote recorded for 0bama, that the whole screen--not just the 0bama icon--would register a vote for 0bama.
I don´t know how accurate that radio host´s information is, but coupled with the previous articles about voters complaints that the "screen kept going to 0bama when I tried to vote for Romney" I have to wonder. At least Oklahoma still has paper ballots to mark.
Democrats do not want anything but our death. Anything they do to achieve that is, for them, morally okay. People who would not normally cheat are cheating because they have been convinced we need very badly to be dead or the world will die. It is their religion.
Do not argue reason--it won´t work. Do not change your behavior--it won´t matter. Do not appease them--it will only get worse.

Thanks, 31, a lot of people felt that way in 2008. A lot of Jews felt that way as socialist policies were advocated in Germany in the 1930s. Liberals don´t just get mad at their scapegoats; they "get even." The worse things get, the less the ´rats will be held accountable. I guarantee it.
#36, I was clicking around on TV the Sunday before the election and I saw some lefty journalist on "Face the Nation" proclaiming that "no one is interested in this election - there will be a very low voter turnout". I thought, "what??!". Everyone I know was super excited to vote for Romney.
The disparity between the vote tallies and the enthusiasm evidenced in the Chick-fil-A episode, the rally turnouts, and the neck and neck polling in ludicrously over sampled D cohorts, all point to massive fraud.
The electronic machines need to be certified by bonded service companies and the national ID must become law. The sorry excuse that ID will suppress the bozo vote is past its expiry date.
There was the article that during election night the Romney team became concerned with reports of huge turnouts in Dem districts......however, the report came from cBS. I think this was their way to once again cover Obama so the result would appear legit.
Maybe it is time that some Republicans became democrats. The party machinery at the local level is pretty easy to become involved with. Also my experience with leftist is that they can´t conceive of conservatives being so sneaky. So getting a Republican moles in the democratic establishment might be fairly easy to do.
All it takes is a few people in positions to see the corruption and to record the meetings to blow it open in an off year election or local election when they are not expecting it.
Another possible ploy is in states like California which has the new rule that says there cannot be an unopposed election so that there are now sometimes 2 democrats on the ballot. If a republican were to run as a democrat and say all the leftist things they might could get elected. Once elected they have a forum to drag the demonrats back towards sanity if they couch their arguments right. They could also run as extreme leftist and make a few high profile votes for leftist issues if elected. However, if they lost the person who won the election would be more moderate and not beholding to the far left which is a good thing
If Republicans would have left town until a budget voter, then this fraud would have been arrested in his tracks. He´s borrowed more in 4 years than all previous Presidents in American history combined. Some legacy.
PJ Media columnist J. Christian Adams appeared on The Kelly File on Fox News on Friday to talk about his recent article detailing how the Department of Homeland Security has recently hired activist immigration attorneys who worked for pro-amnesty, pro-asylum, and open borders groups in the past. Now, sources inside DHS have provided PJ Media with the employment history and pro-amnesty backgrounds of the newly hired lawyers who will be enforcing federal immigration laws. The ideological histories of these new DHS lawyers undermine confidence that the federal government will vigorously enforce federal laws, notwithstanding any congressional “mandates” to do so.

DEVELOPING: – An elderly U.S. tourist and war veteran detained for more than a month for alleged hostile acts against North Korea has been deported from that country. North Korean state media said Saturday 85-year-old Merrill Newman was released because he had apologized for his alleged crimes during the Korean War and because of his age and medical condition. It was not clear if his confession was coerced. He was taken off a plane Oct. 26 by North Korean authorities while preparing to leave the country after a 10-day tour. At the "Fast Food Forward" protest on Thursday, Rep. Keith Ellison (D-Minn.) demanded that Pres. Obama sign an executive order bypassing Congress and unilaterally raising the federal minimum wage. Rep. Ellison told the crowd that they should join him in demanding that Pres. Obama skip seeking Congressional approval and raise the minimum wage on his own - and that he sent the president a letter on Wednesday presenting his demand: "We in Congress will try to raise the minimum wage. We got opponents on the other side of the aisle who say that there shouldn´t be no minimum wage. So, we
Wall Street Journal columnist Peggy Noonan joined WSJ Live host Mary Kissel on Friday where they discussed the ongoing issues associated with the implementation of the Affordable Care Act. Noonan said she found the way in which this administration has handled this crisis has been among the “oddest” she’s seen. Noonan added that she would like to see “humility” from President Barack Obama rather than combativeness. Kissel began by asking about the “puzzle” of the president’s response to the crisis surrounding the ACA’s faltering website. “I look at the White House the past two months, I think the president and
Another leftist lets the mask slip. Jonathan Alter believes that violent criminals imprisoned for their crimes are political prisoners. He and Al Sharpton talked to themselves on MSNBC today. Sharpton asked Alter what America might learn from the example of Nelson Mandela. Reasonable answers to this question include but are not limited to: Don’t abuse political power to punish your enemies; don’t hold on to political power forever; choose your wife or husband a bit more carefully; don’t seek to divide when unity serves the nation better. Alter wants America to learn a different lesson. None of the above. Alter
As Congress gets ready to battle on immigration reform next year, it´s important to take a look at who will help enforce and shape any kind of immigration overhaul. Former Department of Justice Assistant Attorney General and radical open borders attorney Tom Perez was safely put into the position of Labor Secretary by President Obama and the Senate earlier this year, knowing the Department of Justice is safely locked down as pro-amnesty. Perez has a long history of advocating not for American workers, but for illegal alien workers and made sure the Department of Justice was stacked with pro-amnesty attorneys
More young men in California rise in pitch at the end of their sentences when talking, new research shows. This process is known as "uptalk" or "valleygirl speak" and has in the past been associated with young females, typically from California or Australia. But now a team says that this way of speaking is becoming more frequent among men.The findings were presented at the Meeting of the Acoustical Society of America in California. "We found use of uptalk in all of our speakers, despite their diverse backgrounds in socioeconomic status, ethnicity, bilingualism and gender," said Amanda Ritchart, a linguist at the University of
How do you get your arms around the catastrophe known as Obamacare? Is it even possible? At this point, I’m not sure it is. The list of individual disasters which threaten to ruin one-sixth of the U.S. economy and what has been, up until now, the best healthcare system in the world is exhaustive, and exhausting. The examples I will identify here barely scratch the surface. First but by no means foremost, we have the supposedly new and improved HealthCare.gov. Except it’s not, even the visible part. Stories still abound of people still failing to get in or to get through the enrollment
The question all week long was this: Who are you going to believe, an illegal alien or the president of the United States of America? Obviously, if it’s a president who once went by an alias, Barry Soetoro, you go with Uncle Omar, 100 percent, no questions asked. And so it was that the White House finally admitted to another, uh, misstatement — despite previous denials, Barack/Barry did sleep on his beloved Uncle Omar’s couch in Cambridge when he first moved here to attend Harvard Law School (speaking of which, we’re still waiting to see the president’s grades and his LSAT scores). But the
DAVID CORN: I saw a president who remains frustrated with the political-media culture that he has to work within, and that he´s looking to rally people, students here, and supporters, and people within the media. CHRIS MATTHEWS: But David Corn, you skeptic. He came to us today. He came amongst us. CORN: He´s trying to rally people behind this vision that he´s been promoting for a couple years. FINEMAN: By the way, he did it the end here, today, Chris, not by defending specifics, but by explaining why he´s in the game to begin with. And I don´t know about you, he´s
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has announced a new five-year strategic plan to improve safety for elderly drivers and passengers. Although they are statistically among the safest on the road, the number of older drivers is increasing dramatically — and with it, that group´s numbers of injuries and deaths. Since 2003, the population of older adults, defined as age 65 and older, has increased by 20% and the number of licensed older drivers increased by 21% to 35 million in 2012, according to NHTSA. Last year, NHTSA reported that 5,560 people older than 65 died and 214,000 were injured
The most curious thing of all about the November jobs report released on Friday was the huge drop in the unemployment rate — and the fact that the Labor Department chose not to disclose that the data going into that figure are under investigation for falsification. On Nov. 19, I broke the news in my column that the Census Bureau, which collects data that goes into the jobless rate on behalf of Labor, had caught one of its enumerators fabricating interviews in 2010. The culprit said back then (and to me during an interview) that he was told to do so by
