The reality of urban life is this.
Baby momma, sometimes still a teenager with a baby in school, probably uncertain exactly who the baby daddy is, spends most nights out on the town, clubbing, partying, drinking, all night. And in the morning, she goes to sleep, leaving baby to be on his or her own. Baby doesn´t make it to school because baby momma don´t care.
Now add in the executive order, July, 2012, from President Zero, specifying that black children have to have discipline applied but no more than white children are disciplined. (in proportion)
Pretty sad.

Local authorities go to these lengths because absences from school in the earliest grades can have a devastating effect on children, their families and the community, as well as draining millions of dollars from school districts whose state and federal funding is linked to attendance rates.
Most germane is the potential loss of state and federal funding. Fat chance the ´´community´´ is really interested in any other effect...

The dirty little secret in rough urban school districts is that many times they´d rather not have the truant kid there at all. A kid from a "family" that´s so dysfunctional they can´t get a grade school age kid to school, is a kid that´s probably trouble. And too many of the "neighborhoods" are too dangerous for anybody but the thug/gang residents and well-armed cops.

For a "failed scandal," Fast and Furious sure brought out the heavy hitters at the Department of Justice to deal with a whistleblower. The department´s inspector general has released a report accusing one US attorney, Dennis Burke, of leaking a document that smeared John Dodson, a key witness in the Fast and Furious scandal, and accusing other officials in the department of coming up with a strategy to discredit him. Breitbart: The DOJ IG said it found "Burke´s conduct in disclosing the Dodson memorandum to be inappropriate for a Department employee and wholly unbefitting a U.S. Attorney."

A federal court in San Francisco Tuesday struck down Arizona´s ban on abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy. The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that the law violates a string of U.S. Supreme Court rulings starting with Roe v. Wade that guarantees a woman´s right to an abortion before a fetus is able to survive outside the womb. That´s generally considered to be about 24 weeks. Normal pregnancies run about 40 weeks. Several states have enacted similar bans starting at 20 weeks. But the 9th Circuit´s ruling is binding only in the nine Western states

The Washington Post on Monday reported that Obama’s Department of Justice was investigating journalists before they started wiretapping the Associated Press – for one, Fox News correspondent James Rosen in 2010. Their headline wasn´t "Obama Team Also Spied on Fox News." Fox wasn´t in the headline, on A-1 or on A-12, where the story continued. The wheels came off the Obama administration yesterday. We learned of a startling assault on freedom of the press by the Department of Justice, following the revelation last week of the unprecedented information-gathering foray by that department against The Associated Press. Then, a few minutes later, the Justice Department’s inspector general released a report declaring that the US attorney in Arizona used the leak of a confidential memo to try to discredit a whistleblower in the notorious “gun-walking” scandal known as Fast and Furious (which got two federal agents killed). The leak was called “egregious.”

WASHINGTON – A top IRS official in the division that reviews nonprofit groups will invoke the Fifth Amendment and refuse to answer questions before a House committee investigating the agency’s improper screening of conservative nonprofit groups. Lois Lerner, the head of the exempt organizations division of the IRS, won’t answer questions about what she knew about the improper screening – or why she didn’t reveal it to Congress, according to a letter from her defense lawyer, William W. Taylor 3rd. Lerner was scheduled to appear before the House Oversight committee Wednesday.

Stuart Varney said this morning on "Varney & Co." that one of his producers was given a questionnaire with some surprisingly intrusive questions on it when he switched doctors. One of the questions was whether he/she was concerned about unsecured weapons in the home. Another asked whether he/she was "in a relationship in which you have been physically hurt or are you afraid of your partner?" Judge Andrew Napolitano explained that the question about guns comes out of a post-Sandy Hook executive order by President Obama, but it will be required under Obamacare. Varney expressed amazement
