Finally, the 2016 presidential
race gets started

We were going to post a fictitious tweet today, poking fun at America´s modern penchant for perpetual presidential campaigns. It would have said something facetious like, with only 1,454 days left until the 2016 presidential election, Paul Ryan was making his first trip of the new cycle to meet Iowa voters. After all, it has been a whole six days since the 2012 presidential race ended. But then we read this exciting piece of news: Florida Sen. Marco Rubio really is going to Iowa this week for a fundraiser. No joke. True, Rubio isn't going to Iowa until Saturday, which means it will be much closer by

722 days and counting till the 2014 elections! The middle of the road
wiggly-wanker Republicans better get their act together or else they´ll be kicked to the curb also! They act like their jobs have become too cushy!!! We will FIX that!!! Go conservative or go home!

What do you want to bet that Obama starts campaigning for a 3rd term?

FTA: ´´After all, it has been a whole six days since the 2012 presidential race ended.´´

It´s never to soon to get your feet wet when sharing the vast pool of political candidates at any time. Look, 0bama is going to New York City on the 15th of this week as : a.) Part of his conquering election tour by droning on and on. b.) Express Michelle´s concern that if LA can have a ´´meatless´´ Monday, when will New York get behind that eight ball? c.) Hope that his new ´´bud,´´ Chris Christie remembered to have three in gas-guzzling, SUV when he sneaks over the bridge for lunch. d.) Hide General Petraeus in the cargo hold while Congress has close door sessions on that day on what really happened in Benghazi.

I for one will turn off any program for the next two years that has anything about the 2016 election.

Re #4
An awful lot of people in NYC/NJ are having ´meatless Mondays´ everyday, thanks to Sandy.

New research finds stronger

Finally, scientific confirmation of what so many have suspected all along: The strongest of men in varied societies around the world are much more likely to hold conservative political views. Probably much smarter too. While weaker guys, regardless of wealth, are more liberal, into handouts and wealth redistribution because, well, they don´t have the strength to get it and keep it themselves. The reassuring results come from a new study by researchers at Denmark´s Aarhus University.

Hi, I’m Congressman Andy Harris, and this is the Red Tape Tower. 20,000 pages high and seven feet tall, it encompasses all of the regulations already associated with President Obama’s health care law. The red tape, the taxes, the mandates, the tricks, the traps, the fine print … it’s all here. Now: just think about the fact that it’s the IRS that will be responsible for enforcing many of these regulations. If we’ve learned anything this week, it’s that the IRS needs less power.

Hi, everybody. Over the past few months, I’ve laid out a series of commonsense ideas to reignite the true engine of our economic growth: a rising, thriving middle class. The way I see it, there are three areas where we need to focus. One: making America a magnet for good jobs. Two: making sure our workers have the education and skills they need to do those jobs. And three: making sure your hard work leads to a decent living. I’ve also been visiting cities across the country that are doing some interesting and creative things along these lines.

Cloudy with a 100% chance of scandals:

Another awkward day in the unraveling presidency of Barack Obama. Beset by a trio of profound scandals, the Democrat planned Thursday´s message on foreign affairs through a joint news conference with Turkey´s Prime Minister Erdogan, a NATO ally. Unfortunately, Obama´s advance staff was apparently too busy preparing his next campaign stops to check the Washington weather forecast. It set up the news conference outdoors in the Rose Garden. Wouldn´t you know given POTUS´ recent luck, it began raining heavily. Obama [Snip] ordered two U.S. Marines to come hold umbrellas over the leaders´ heads while standing at attention.

Washington, the former swamp steeped now in ambition, acrimony and duplicity, is quite experienced in handling scandals. They erupt regularly like bipartisan blisters. If handled correctly -- take responsibility, be sincere, proactive, contrite and get all the bad stuff out there quickly in one tidy, eminently forgettable package -- scandals can heal and leave barely a scar. Take Barack Obama. Please. His recent behavior and that of his administration in this ongoing bad news blizzard will be case studies for future generations of communications strategists on how not to address crises.

Letterman: Barbara Walters announced her retirement on ´The View.´ She was smiling. Had a little cake. Seemed to know where she was. Fallon: Joe Biden met with South Korean President Park, gave her advice on avoiding war with North Korea. In other words, we´re going to war with North Korea. Leno: A CNN reporter was robbed right in downtown Atlanta. But because it was on CNN, there were no witnesses. Fallon: Obama tells Ohio State grads they need to make the world a better place. Awkward! Students yelled back, "That´s your responsibility?” You´re the president!"

A key tenet of Barack Obama´s grand design to radically transform the country he did not grow up in is to corrode Americans´ confidence in their revered institutions. The Supreme Court. Private enterprise. The national capitol complex. Big business (except for its political donations to him). Congress. Especially Congress, even when it does his bidding. If Americans come to doubt what they used to believe in, it will be easier for Obama to drive home his own brand of solutions. [Snip] Obama’s been admitting an awful lot of ignorance in recent days.

What did President Obama do on the evening of 9/11/12 when our men were under attack in Benghazi? The invaluable Andrew McCarthy reminds us that Obama and Secretary Clinton had a 10:00 p.m. phone call of which many (including, I think, Chris Wallace) have lost sight. This morning when Wallace asked Obama aide Dan Pfeiffer what Obama was up to that evening, Pfeiffer declared the line of inquiry “offensive.” Translation: Obama and his minions would prefer to “move on” and are warning the likes of FNC off:(Snip for video)The Weekly Standard’s Daniel Halper has posted the rush transcript

WASHINGTON - There were new questions Saturday night concerning if anyone in the White House was aware of the IRS´ targeting of conservative groups. Inspector General Russell George said he informed a deputy at the Treasury Department in June of 2012 about the probe into the IRS. The Treasury Department confirmed the timeline but said they did not know the details of the investigation until last week.(Snip)Marcus Owens ran the tax-exempt division at the IRS for 10 years. In the wake of one of the worst abuses of government power in recent history, many are rushing to frame the Internal Revenue Service scandal as simply an attack on conservative activists. That view risks creating a partisan political football and misses a fundamentally scarier abuse that exceeds the scandals of Watergate or any other prior government abuse. The IRS has admitted that since May 2010 it targeted grassroots-conservative organizations that had applied for tax-exempt status, unfairly subjecting them to rigorous scrutiny due to their political leanings. Such groups were told they were required to comply with IRS requests,

Treasury Secretary Jack Lew on Friday urged congressional leaders to raise the debt limit and insisted that the White House is not going to negotiate over the increase because lawmakers have "no choice." "We will not negotiate over the debt limit," Lew wrote. "The creditworthiness of the United States is non-negotiable. The question of whether the country must pay obligations it has already incurred is not open to debate." Lew said that while President Obama is willing to discuss plans to reduce the nation´s deficit with Congress, those talks must be kept separate from any effort to raise the nation´s debt cap.

It began in earnest last Friday. A flash mob of latte drinking, tofu eating media that has done its best to quell, rather than fan the flames of truth, turned on one of their own. Jay Carney lay bludgeoned at the base of the podium, a victim of friendly fire. Ironically, the attack was reminiscent of the one in Benghazi he has repeatedly denied the Administration he represents bears any responsibility for. “Changed twelve times?!” came the cries. And with good reason. We were misled; no, lied to.

Washington – Sen. Claire McCaskill, D-MO, issued a video statement Friday in response to reports that the Internal Revenue Service unfairly targeted conservative nonprofit groups. (Snip) “There’s a reason Lady Justice wears a blindfold in America. That is because in America, we don’t apply the law based on who you are, who you know, or what you believe. The Internal Revenue Service´s watchdog told top Treasury officials around June 2012 he was investigating allegations the tax agency had targeted conservative groups, for the first time indicating that Obama administration officials were aware of the explosive matter in the midst of the president´s re-election campaign. The disclosure to the Treasury general counsel and the deputy secretary was a cursory one, according to J. Russell George, the Treasury inspector general for tax administration. He said he didn´t reveal conclusions of the probe, which was in its early stages, and his disclosure came as part
