Democrats Better Start Soul Searching
Commentary Magazine, by Abe Greenwald

Original Article

Posted By:Dreadnought, 11/11/2012 4:09:00 PM

Barack Obama ushered in America’s first large-scale experiment in personality-cult politics. The experiment continues apace. Obama got reelected because he enjoys a degree of personal popularity disconnected from his record. No modern president has ever been returned to office with employment figures and right-rack-wrong-track numbers as poor as those Obama has achieved. Obama couldn’t run on his record, which proved to be no problem—Americans didn’t vote on his record. According to exit polls, 77 percent of voters said the economy is bad and only 25 percent said they’re better off than they were four years ago.

I think if I read one more of these articles opining why Obama won - and getting it wrong - my head may explode.

Obama won due to massive voter fraud. He stole it. It is sickening to me that no media - not even Fox News is covering this. When district upon district is reporting turnout more than 100% of registered voters - as high as 200% - something is terribly wrong.

Are cheaters and liars capable of soul searching? I doubt it.

Abe assumes that Obama will no longer be president after 1/20/17. I´m not so sure about that regardless of the 22th ammendment.

#2 Amen!
How willfully blind do we have to be to believe this election was legitimate?

Mr. Greenwald assumes that dems have souls. And I agree that massive fraud occurred.

Interesting perspective. Personality cults usually don´t end well. The end often comes in an underground bunker or around a bubbling vat of Kool-Aide.

It´s not cowardice to avoid voter fraud, it´s just smart to do so. We need to look at what we did wrong rather than drinking our own Kool-aid.

Agree, #2. There has to be vote fraud when turnout is more than the number of registered voters in a district.

Traditionally, turnout is about 50%.

It is incredible that Ozero, with the economy, the healthcare/tax bill, bowing to Saudis(etc), threatening our security by reducing the military, lining up with UN Agenda 21, and Own & Own... could have won.
Agree #2. I am angry and depressed and I loathe everyone who voted for Ozero. They deserve what is coming in the near future, but the rest of America does not.

What #2 and #13 said. In order for demonrats to "start Soul searching", the first requirement would be to HAVE a Soul to search. That would leave the vast majority of them out.

Abe, I´m afraid you´re wrong. President George Washington was our first personality President; however, he actually had a personality. Washington more than earned his popularity due to his honor, integrity, dedication to the winning of our republic, and leaving behind his beloved wife and Mount Vernon for so long. God bless President George Washington among our greatest veterans.

What this article avoided was all the voter fraud. Until all polling places demand a picture ID to vote at the least, elections from now on will be stolen from the majority. Read that in many Philly precincts the vote was 99% Obama--an impossibility considering that ultra liberal Washington, DC had a vote of 93% Obama. There was a precint in FL that had a turnout of 143% of registered voters. Explain that one to me. There were ofcourse other reasons for the outcome, but when we cannot trust a machine to record our vote as we voted, this country will perish.

In addition to my earlier post, I am reminded of Saul Alinsky´s admonishment to blame the other side with what you are doing. I clearly remember Dems screaming about voter fraud before the election, and that is exactly what THEY had planned for us, and the media ignored it all. I guess I will hibernate for the next four years.

By going along with a liberal Democrat amnesty program that eventually gives 12-20 million illegal aliens US voting rights the Republicans would be committing long-term political suicide. Do you think the highly partisan liberal Democrats would be pushing such an amnesty if they ever thought that more then a very small percentage of those would be legalized aliens would ever vote for conservative Republicans?

There are a ton of folks who supported what they expect will become a "wake-up call" to basic American values by not voting for a liberal-lite, or a Mormon, or for whatever reason. What will be the excuse next time? And the next?

WASHINGTON — Haynes Johnson, a pioneering Washington journalist who won a Pulitzer Prize for his coverage of the civil rights movement and migrated from newspapers to television, books and teaching, died Friday. He was 81. The Washington Post reported he died at Suburban Hospital in Bethesda, Md. In a statement to the Post newsroom, Managing Editor Kevin Merida said Johnson died of a heart attack. Johnson was awarded a Pulitzer in 1966 for national reporting on the civil rights struggle in Selma, Ala., while with The Evening Star in Washington. He spent

The FBI has arrested a San Antonio man on charges he lied to get into the United States and tried to get a sensitive Defense Department position. Wissam Allouche, 44, appeared for an initial hearing Friday afternoon, and shook his head when U.S. Magistrate Judge Henry Bemporad read the charges leveled in a federal indictment. The judge ordered him held pending a bail hearing and his arraignment Tuesday. “He allegedly tried to cover up his affiliation with Hezbollah,” said special agent Erik Vasys, spokesman for the FBI in San Antonio. “It is believed

A FREE press in a democracy demands a delicate balance. The First Amendment means the media must have the right to inquire without hindrance. The government has a legitimate interest in keeping some national security information secret. When these come into conflict, the balance often has been struck this way: The media are free to pursue secrets, but it is up to those in government to keep them. When the media come into possession of information that, if disclosed, could be damaging, the government can plead the case for secrecy — and the media generally are open to persuasion.

The brutal murder of an off-duty soldier by two Muslim activists continues to dominate the news in Great Britain. The scene was utterly bizarre: in broad daylight, in a busy section of London, the two Muslims apparently ran the soldier down with a car, within a block or two of his barracks, and then attacked him with knives and a meat cleaver. They attempted to behead him, apparently not quite successfully, as hundreds of passers-by looked on. No one stopped them–private ownership of firearms being illegal in the U.K.–but three random women

A day after insurers complained that Kathleen Sebelius and the Obama administration had pressured them to fund Enroll America, a House committee sent them a request for more information on the matter. The Energy and Commerce Committee had already begun looking into whether Sebelius had broken any laws by attempting to get donations from an industry that will be heavily regulated by her under ObamaCare, and now The Hill reports this new request as a widening of that probe (via Rare): House Republicans have widened their probe of Health and Human Services

President Obama delivered an address today at the National Defense University called “The Future of our Fight Against Terrorism.” Actually, part of the speech was about the past, including much self-congratulation and some shots at President Bush. This part of the speech is revisionist rubbish. As Max Boot explains: Obama said, for example, that after he came into office, “we unequivocally banned torture, affirmed our commitment to civilian courts, worked to align our policies with the rule of law, and expanded our consultations with Congress.” Umm, actually all of that happened in Bush’s second term.

In seventy lugubrious paragraphs, President Obama today asked America whether as commander-in-chief he should bomb terrorists. He concluded that sometimes he should, and sometimes he shouldn’t. He couldn’t quite make up his mind. Therefore, he would appoint a panel to advise him. Mr. Obama has already authorized more than 200 such drone bombings. His staff has bragged that before ordering a bombing, he personally reviews who lives and who dies. Imagine if Prime Minister Churchill or President Truman had appeared on television to announce an advisory panel before bombing our enemy. We would be appalled

When you get right down to it, the political targeting and stalling of tax-exempt applications by the IRS was an effort to defund the Tea Party. Rick Santelli, one of the Tea Party founders and my CNBC colleague, was the first to make this point. I’ve taken it a step further: The IRS was taking the Tea Party out of play for the 2012 election, as it looked to avoid a repeat of 2010 and another Tea Party landslide. There are a lot of numbers out there.

Conservative radio host Mark Levin is very skeptical of the idea that President Obama had absolutely no idea about the IRS tea party targeting before the story broke in the news mere weeks ago. Levin declared adamantly that it is a “flat-out, bald-faced lie” that Obama didn’t know beforehand, citing prior reports by a few conservative news outlets picking up on the news well before the 2012 presidential election. Levin said, “I don’t believe for two seconds that Obama wasn’t aware of this.”

President Obama on Thursday nominated Victoria Nuland, a State Department official involved in the editing of the administration´s talking points on Benghazi, to be the next assistant secretary of state for European and Eurasian affairs. Nuland, a career foreign service officer who was until recently State´s top spokesperson, had long been expected to be nominated the post to replace Philip Gordon, who Obama picked to serve as Middle East coordinator for the National Security Council. Nuland´s nomination -- which requires Senate confirmation -- could come under scrutiny from Republicans who see her as playing a central role in shaping

Anthony Weiner’s New York mayoral candidacy was only made more improbable today after he revealed that he visited a Houston psychiatric facility following his resignation from Congress in 2011. Haunted by scandal surrounding his sexually explicit online communications with women, the Democratic former congressman sought treatment for his compulsive behavior from mental health professionals at the Gabbard Center. According to its website, the facility provides “3-day outpatient psychiatric evaluation,” particularly to “professionals who are in personal or professional crises.” While Weiner did not disclose

On “Fox News Sunday” last weekend, White House aide Dan Pfeiffer was asked about President Barack Obama’s whereabouts the night of the Sept. 11 attack in Benghazi. This was the night when we lost our first ambassador in 30 years, and when three other Americans were killed in an attack that lasted all night long at multiple locations within the eastern Libyan city. Since the president is commander in chief, one would think where he was and what he did during such an event would be of obvious public concern.
