Washington—The top Senate Democrat on intelligence issues said Sunday she would investigate the Federal Bureau of Investigation´s handling of the inquiry into Central Intelligence Agency chief David Petraeus, including why top lawmakers weren´t informed of the investigation before it became public. Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D., Calif.), the chairwoman of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, said on "Fox News Sunday" that she learned of the Petreaus investigation on Friday when her staff began getting press inquiries on the matter. She said she and other committee leaders are routinely made aware of investigations involving national security prior

Comments:
Will she go anywhere with this or will O&Co convince her to back off?

President Zero don´t have to follow no stinkin´ laws or operating rules. It is naive to think otherwise.
He has gotten away with his fraudulent presidency, and has been rewarded with a second term.
We are a nation of enablers.

Looks to me as though the entire Obama administration is disfunctional.

It was a "need to know" and I presume you didn´t need to know, Diane.

I´m sure you´re outraged but won´t do anything about it.

Republicans should keep pushing the notion of a cover-up.
The media won´t push the issue, but the people will keep wondering, and doubting the Democrats care about the truth.

You´d think a person like Feinstein would be po´d about this. She can´t want to be taken as a potted plant by Barry O admin. But who knows, the dems seem to only care about power and not what´s right.

ROTFLOL You bet. Another trick by dems to get your hopes up. Don´t buy. It´s better to stand up and not back off.

How did these emails get released and why? We can´t get any answers about Benghazi , but we have all of the intimate details of this affair out there. I feel this was done to keep protecting Obama and even Hillary from their screw ups.

The libtards are wanting to get out in front of this and control it so it goes nowhere they don´t want it to go. The way they jumped on this means there´s loads more to it.

Diane always comes late to every party. Last summer she called for `hearings` on the high price of gasoline. She does this every time prices rise dramatically even though Calif has a closed petroleum system. She`ll be the 1st to call for hearings if al-queda ever succeeds in exploding a dirty bomb.

We live in a land run by morons.

Diane is a libtard who takes her cues from ValJar and 0bama. She won´t do SQUAT!

We all need to tell her that!

Is this what 12,000 additional FBI agents were hired to do. I thought that was the job of Hollywood snitch columnists.

Reply 12 - Posted by: mitzi, 11/11/2012 3:26:26 PM     (No. 9007532)

I don´t think she actually said that ... my interpretation is that she said it was the "committee´s" decision about any inquiries in this matter.

1) Probe initiated by WH after Petraeus began questioning illegal activites.
2) Broadwell selected to sedce the general. Although her husband accepted the mission, he later regretgted it.
3) Kelley selected to pretend to be the source to the FBI... so trail won´t lead to WH set up.

Both women are democrats.

Chair of the committee to "make shore" the Dem candidate was a legal one, Feinstein could not find his birth certificate, so she ad-libbed it. America is paying the price.
What a farce we live in!

White House advisor Dan Pfeiffer said “the law is irrelevant” when asked by ABC’s George Stephanopoulos Sunday about whether President Obama thought the IRS’ targeting of conservative groups was illegal: Stephanopoulos: What does the president believe? Does the president believe that would be illegal? Pfeiffer: I can’t speak to the law here. The law is irrelevant. The activity was outrageous (Snip) Stephanopoulos: You don’t really mean the law is irrelevant, do you? Pfeiffer: What I mean is whether it’s legal or illegal is not important to the fact that the conduct doesn’t matter.

IG letter to Geithner: Targeting

Treasury officials were made aware in June 2012 that the IRS inspector general was reviewing the office that handles tax-exempt applications, but a letter from October shows that the inspector general did not highlight the audit as a top concern for the agency. In a memo dated October 15, 2012, to then-Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner about IRS challenges for 2013, Inspector General J. Russell George noted other problem areas, but made no mention of the investigation taking place at the time of the agency´s intense scrutiny of conservative groups seeking tax-exempt status.

It eventually comes down to who — who at the IRS was responsible for targeting conservative and Tea Party groups for special scrutiny. Because, after all, you can’t put a “system” in jail. You can’t put a report in prison. You can’t indict a department for corruption. At the end of the day it’s people who are responsible for using the enormous powers of the Internal Revenue Service to go after other people and groups because of their political beliefs. U.S. Rep. Kevin Brady (R-Texas) told the tale of one of his constituents who applied for tax-exempt status for her Tea Party group in July 2010.

Flesh-eating bacteria amputee Aimee Copeland now uses the latest technology in prosthetic hands to chop vegetables, pick up tiny items like Skittles, and comb and iron press her hair. With the bionic hands, Copeland is looking forward to cleaning her house -- she´s a neat freak, she tells CNN -- and cooking her own food. She´s something of a foodie but has been able to eat only microwaveable foods, she adds. WASHINGTON - There were new questions Saturday night concerning if anyone in the White House was aware of the IRS´ targeting of conservative groups. Inspector General Russell George said he informed a deputy at the Treasury Department in June of 2012 about the probe into the IRS. The Treasury Department confirmed the timeline but said they did not know the details of the investigation until last week.(Snip)Marcus Owens ran the tax-exempt division at the IRS for 10 years. In House testimony Friday, former Acting IRS Commissioner Steven Miller explained that the IRS mistakes in handling applications for non-profit status from tea party groups were due, in large part, to a flood of applications following the Citizens United decision. Miller said the targeting was a botched attempt to centralize the process to account for the increased workload. There were fewer applications in 2010, when the IRS began targeting conservative groups, than the year before, however. (Snip)Moreover, the IRS reportedly abandoned the targeting in early 2012. It presumably had little trouble handling the increased number of applicants

What did President Obama do on the evening of 9/11/12 when our men were under attack in Benghazi? The invaluable Andrew McCarthy reminds us that Obama and Secretary Clinton had a 10:00 p.m. phone call of which many (including, I think, Chris Wallace) have lost sight. This morning when Wallace asked Obama aide Dan Pfeiffer what Obama was up to that evening, Pfeiffer declared the line of inquiry “offensive.” Translation: Obama and his minions would prefer to “move on” and are warning the likes of FNC off:(Snip for video)The Weekly Standard’s Daniel Halper has posted the rush transcript

It began in earnest last Friday. A flash mob of latte drinking, tofu eating media that has done its best to quell, rather than fan the flames of truth, turned on one of their own. Jay Carney lay bludgeoned at the base of the podium, a victim of friendly fire. Ironically, the attack was reminiscent of the one in Benghazi he has repeatedly denied the Administration he represents bears any responsibility for. “Changed twelve times?!” came the cries. And with good reason. We were misled; no, lied to.

Treasury Secretary Jack Lew on Friday urged congressional leaders to raise the debt limit and insisted that the White House is not going to negotiate over the increase because lawmakers have "no choice." "We will not negotiate over the debt limit," Lew wrote. "The creditworthiness of the United States is non-negotiable. The question of whether the country must pay obligations it has already incurred is not open to debate." Lew said that while President Obama is willing to discuss plans to reduce the nation´s deficit with Congress, those talks must be kept separate from any effort to raise the nation´s debt cap.
