Congress to press FBI, CIA on
discovery of emails that exposed
Petraeus´ career-ending affair

Star Tribune [Minneapolis], by Kimberly Dozier and Pete Yost

WASHINGTON - The career of David Petraeus, the CIA director and renowned general, was derailed by allegedly vicious emails his paramour sent to another woman. Now the CIA, FBI and White House face questions from Congress about Petraeus´ love life and how his emails came under investigation. (Snip) But Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., who heads the Senate committee, said she hasn´t ruled out compelling Petraeus to testify about Benghazi at a later date. "We may well ask" him at some point, she told "Fox News Sunday." "I think that´s up to the committee."

Comments:
Is Diane beginning to wobble? She sounded as though it was imperative that Petraeus testify.

Every article seems to bring out something new:

CIA officers long had expressed concern about Broadwell´s unprecedented access to the director. She frequently visited the spy agency´s headquarters in Langley, Va., to meet Petraeus in his office, accompanied him on morning runs around the CIA grounds and often attended public functions as his guest, according to two former intelligence officials.

Petraeus´ staff when he was overseeing the war in Afghanistan similarly had been concerned about the time she spent with their boss.

It´s clear that he was oblivious to how his fascination with her was registering on others. And she is the kind of woman I describe as "obvious".

Just like they were going to get to the bottom of Benghazi -- yeah right.

All this is just another giant smoke screen the republican are putting up cause they are never going to take on Obama

Of course many wondered about this woman who seemed to have insinuated herself into Petraeus´s life. Stuff like this wouldn´t have helped:

Broadwell described Petraeus as a mentor, and said they went on “a lot of runs” in Kabul while she was researching her book. She said the general’s nickname was “Peaches.”

She doesn´t say whose nickname for Petraeus that was. In Afghanistan he was referred to as "King David".

Anything to take Benghazi out of the news cycle. Most headlines you see now are about this. Four Americans dead, but this is so important that that´s what all the MSM are covering.

Petraeus is now a private citizen. He can lawyer up if he wishes and take the Fifth. We may never know what is going on. One thing for sure, Obama will emerge unscathed for he is the real teflon president.

Has this become the distraction which takes us from the WH Benghazi betrayal?

yesterday on Fox, K.T.McFarlane stated that when she was in Iraq there were credible rumors swirling about Petraus´ affair. It appears to have been a fairly common assumption.

Sen Feinstein says that she might compel Petraus to testify, but I´ve been hearing/reading that he will have already signed a very tight non-disclosure agreement. I always presumed that would mean to prevent interviews, books, whatever. Would it also cover a congressional hearing? Does anyone here know with certainty??

Seek the truth and do not be distracted.
The issue is Benghazi.

About “Bush Appointee” Doug Shulman …

The left loves to remind everyone that the former IRS commissioner was a Bush appointee, because somehow this makes it OK that his IRS office abused power to criminally target conservatives. For a party that loves to blame Bush, they sure love signing off on everything Bush did and then maximizing it times eleventy. Shulman may have been a Bush appointee, but he was an Obama donor: Shulman donated $500 to the Democratic National Committee in 2004. So let’s start calling him “Democrat supporter” Doug Shulman. All this shows is that Bush wasn’t an ideological bigot.

Seven months we’ve been waiting for someone, anyone, to ask the White House staff what was President Obama doing on the night the Benghazi attacks took place. We have researched this on our own and have him tracked from 4pm to around 7:30pm (EST). But after 7:30pm it is a total BLACKOUT – an unknown void of information. Finally after seven MONTHS. Chris Wallace asks White House Communications Director, Dan Pfeiffer, what was President Obama doing. (Snip) they are hiding what actually took place that night. They are desperately trying to cover the President’s intentional uninvolvement.

White House advisor Dan Pfeiffer said “the law is irrelevant” when asked by ABC’s George Stephanopoulos Sunday about whether President Obama thought the IRS’ targeting of conservative groups was illegal: Stephanopoulos: What does the president believe? Does the president believe that would be illegal? Pfeiffer: I can’t speak to the law here. The law is irrelevant. The activity was outrageous (Snip) Stephanopoulos: You don’t really mean the law is irrelevant, do you? Pfeiffer: What I mean is whether it’s legal or illegal is not important to the fact that the conduct doesn’t matter.

Treasury officials were made aware in June 2012 that the IRS inspector general was reviewing the office that handles tax-exempt applications, but a letter from October shows that the inspector general did not highlight the audit as a top concern for the agency. In a memo dated October 15, 2012, to then-Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner about IRS challenges for 2013, Inspector General J. Russell George noted other problem areas, but made no mention of the investigation taking place at the time of the agency´s intense scrutiny of conservative groups seeking tax-exempt status.

IRS breaks the rules

It eventually comes down to who — who at the IRS was responsible for targeting conservative and Tea Party groups for special scrutiny. Because, after all, you can’t put a “system” in jail. You can’t put a report in prison. You can’t indict a department for corruption. At the end of the day it’s people who are responsible for using the enormous powers of the Internal Revenue Service to go after other people and groups because of their political beliefs. U.S. Rep. Kevin Brady (R-Texas) told the tale of one of his constituents who applied for tax-exempt status for her Tea Party group in July 2010.

With the bionic hands, Copeland is looking forward to cleaning her house -- she´s a neat freak, she tells CNN -- and cooking her own food. She´s something of a foodie but has been able to eat only microwaveable foods, she adds. WASHINGTON – The Internal Revenue Serviced scandal today spread further within the White House and closer to President Obama. White House spokesman Jay Carney today disclosed that Obama’s chief of staff, Dennis McDonough, and other top White House officials had advance warning that the IRS was targeting conservative groups. But he insisted McDonough and the other White House officials purposely kept Obama out of the loop.McDonough “rightly chose not to take action” to inform Obama, Carney told reporters at the daily White House briefing.

The Washington Post on Monday reported that Obama’s Department of Justice was investigating journalists before they started wiretapping the Associated Press – for one, Fox News correspondent James Rosen in 2010. Their headline wasn´t "Obama Team Also Spied on Fox News." Fox wasn´t in the headline, on A-1 or on A-12, where the story continued. Newly obtained court documents “reveal how deeply investigators explored the private communications of a working journalist — and raise the question of how often journalists have been investigated as closely as Rosen was in 2010.” Reporter Ann Marimow began:

A senior adviser to President Obama mounted a combative defense of the administration on Sunday, saying the controversies enveloping the White House were the result of Republican lawmakers’ trying to “drag Washington into a swamp of partisan fishing expeditions, trumped-up hearings and false allegations.”The remarks came from Dan Pfeiffer, a member of the president’s inner circle, as he appeared on all five major Sunday morning talk shows in an effort to move the administration past what commentators have described as a “hell week” of controversy and missteps.

Stuart Varney said this morning on "Varney & Co." that one of his producers was given a questionnaire with some surprisingly intrusive questions on it when he switched doctors. One of the questions was whether he/she was concerned about unsecured weapons in the home. While many Americans were tuned into news coverage of the massive damage from tornadoes ravaging the state of Oklahoma, Rhode Island Democratic Sen.
