| On the streets of Manhattan last week, the American public were more concerned about the delay in restoring their public services after Hurricane Sandy than about the entrails of politics following the presidential elections.New York votes Democrat. It took for granted that Barack Obama would get a second term, and did not look much beyond that. Now, though, all America is having to peer into an abyss--or, to use the metaphor of the moment, over a ‘fiscal cliff’.[Snip]The plan is that $136 billion (£85.5 billion) in cuts--0.8 percent of GDP--will come in at the same time as $532 billion of

Comments: Heffer thinks there might be a change in 2014 when people have had time to see the effects of Kevcare* and other income muggers. It´s a good read.
*Obama likes us to call his universal lousy health plan "Obamacare" because it bears his name as a memorial for all time. I won´t do it. He´s the Kevlar President to me and I shall call him Kev, thus "Kevcare."

I love the Daily Mail. It may be the only newspaper in the world that tells the truth about the catastrophe of the bounty that has been handed to the "takers" in this country.
The Demonrat party is not the party of Santa Claus, they are the party of bribery, voter fraud, economic and social destruction, and ultimately the death of America as we knew it.
This election had devastating consequences for 50% of the country and the Left is still crowing about their victory.

How can you make fiscal responsibility a campaign issue when a major voting block of the democrats have no concept of it?
Many Obama voters "buy" a car with the understanding that at some point, it will be repossessed for lack of payment. As one of those remarked: "They just as well repossess a Lincoln as a Chevrolet".
Responsible Americans need to understand that there are two very polar value systems involved in our political process now.

This was always Obama´s intention, to destroy this country. With the help of the useful idiots, he will be allowed to finish the job.

"Responsible Americans need to understand..."
RE: #2 -- That´s the problem in a nutshell most Americans are either to stupid or simply not interested unless their money stops. The only way for this country to get back on any kind of track is just let it all, economically speaking, hit rock bottom.

When John F. Kennedy delivered his “Ich Bin Ein Berliner” speech in front of the Brandenburg Gate on June 26, 1963, 450,000 people flocked to hear him. Fifty years later a far more subdued invitation-only crowd of 4,500 showed up to hear Barack Obama speak at the same location in Berlin. [Snip] JFK had a clear message when he came to Berlin a half century ago – the free world must stand up to Communist tyranny. 24 years later, President Reagan stood in the same spot famously calling on the Soviets to “tear down this wall.” Reagan’s speech was a

Barack Obama’s attempts to negotiate a peace deal with the Taliban look to be dead in the water before they have even started. [Snip] One moment Mr Karzai is being hailed as the saviour of the West, the only Afghan leader who can be trusted to take the fight to the Taliban. The next he is being denounced as a corrupt and weak politician who is only interested in his own self-advancement. On this occasion, however, Mr Karzai’s temper tantrum, and suspension of talks with the US within hours of Obama’s announcement, appears to be fully justified.

Wind farms are like one of those frustratingly unripened boils: you know that you shouldn´t keep squeezing but they´re so noxious and irritating and hideous that you just can´t resist. If you´ve got the same problem, then I heartily recommend you read this brilliant essay on the subject by Russell Taylor. I love his dismissal of people who claim to find wind turbines beautiful: "…a sentiment I find as credible as a Soviet peasant admiring the Tiger tank that had just squashed his grandmother." But what really grabbed me was his analysis at the end of wind turbines´ totemic

US Secretary of State John Kerry has spoken by phone to Afghan President Hamid Karzai to try to defuse tensions, an Afghan spokesman has told the BBC. [Snip] The Taliban premises in Qatar opened on Tuesday, on the same day that Nato handed over security for the whole of Afghanistan to the Afghan government for the first time since the Taliban were ousted in 2001.Mr Karzai said in a statement on Wednesday that the office was "totally contradictory to the guarantees that were made by the USA to Afghanistan". His officials said he objected to a Taliban flag flying

A vast tract of the East Coast, from Washington DC to New York is in danger of being without power for up to two years, if a massive solar flare knocks out the power grid. With the Sun pushing out unusually large solar flares, capable of disrupting power supplies, a device is being proposed that would prevent more than 300 million Americans being left without power. House Republicans have proposed legislation to push the Government to provide surge protectors and grid-saving devices that would offer protection in case of a massive electromagnetic pulse from either a flare or nuclear weapon.

Afghanistan has suspended talks with the US to discuss the nature of US military presence after foreign troops withdraw in 2014. A spokesman for President Hamid Karzai said the decision was taken over "contradictions" in the US proposal of direct talks with the Taliban. Mr Karzai also ruled out talking to the Taliban until the peace process was "Afghan-led". Earlier, four US soldiers died in a Taliban attack at an Afghan air base. A spokesman for the Taliban said the militants had launched two rockets at Bagram airbase, the largest military base for US troops in Afghanistan.

A group of whistleblowers, including a number of aviation experts, have come forward in a new documentary to claim that the official explanation for the crash of TWA Flight 800 was wrong and a gas tank explosion did not bring down the flight off the coast of Long Island 17 years ago. However, the six whistleblowers, all part of the original investigation team, stopped short of saying the plane was shot down. Flight 800, a Boeing 747, had just taken off from JFK airport with 230 people aboard on July 17, 1996 enroute to Paris when it exploded

An attorney whose firm represents two Benghazi whistleblowers said Gen. Martin Dempsey, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, lied to the Senate when he said there was never a “stand down” order during the Benghazi attack on Sept. 11, 2012. “What was fascinating is that he explained his lie to them,” Joe DiGenova, an attorney representing one of the whistleblowers, told CNSNews.com. “He actually said they were sent to Tripoli. They were needed in Benghazi,” said DiGenova, a former U.S. attorney, now with the Washington firm of DiGenova & Toensing.

Likening religious schools to segregation--a racist system that forced blacks to attend different schools and use different facilities than whites in the American South--President Barack Obama told a town hall meeting for youth in Belfast, Northern Ireland on Monday that there should not be Catholic and Protestant schools because such schools cause division. "Because issues like segregated schools and housing, lack of jobs and opportunity--symbols of history that are a source of pride for some and pain for others--these are not tangential to peace; they’re essential to it,"

Listening to Barack Obama give his speech in Belfast on Monday, it was hard not to stifle a yawn. I kept waiting for the part when he would say something interesting, but, about three quarters of the way through, realised it wasn’t going to come. Judging from television pictures some of his young audience felt the same, after the initial rush of euphoria of receiving the rock star president in their midst had passed. This is not surprising, for we had already heard this number about the inspirational role of the Northern Ireland peace process and the Emerald Isle’s

Celebrity chef Paula Deen admitted in a recorded deposition to telling racist jokes, using the N-word, and planning a slavery-themed wedding, according to multiple reports. The May 17 deposition where she made the alleged admissions is part of a $1.2 million lawsuit brought by Lisa Jackson, the former manager of a Savannah, Georgia, restaurant run by Deen and her brother Bubba Hiers. Jackson alleges in the suit that Deen used the N-word at the restaurant and that Hiers sexually harassed her. According to the reports, in the deposition, Deen replied “Yes, of course,”

Charlie Rose last night asked President Obama his new Syria policy. The president first objected to it being called a new policy. "I´m not sure you can characterize this as a new policy. This is consistent with the policy that I´ve had throughout," he said. Obama then explained the goal is regional stability, and especially in Syria. "Really, what we´re trying to do is take sides against extremists of all sorts and in favor of people who are in favor of moderation, tolerance, representative government, and over the long-term, stability and prosperity for the people of Syria," said Obama.

Marco Rubio. Paul Ryan. The IRS. Illegal immigration. And fraud to the tune of billions.. Now there’s a combustible mix. Let’s start with the IRS, illegal immigration and fraud. We’ll come back in a minute to Senator Rubio and Congressman Ryan. For those who came in late, a year before the IRS scandals burst onto the scene in early May of 2013, an alert investigative reporter for WTHR-Indianapolis (Channel 13), Bob Segall by name, produced a stunning piece of journalism. Segall’s video report is found here and we will quote from his story for the basics.
