| While serving his country decades ago as a Marine in Vietnam, James Blue had to be medivaced home to the United States to battle a life-threatening case of malaria, and he returned to face a country sharply divided over the war.Back then there were no words of thanks for his service. But Saturday he and other veterans heard words of appreciation at a city Veterans Day ceremony marking the 50th anniversary of the start of the Vietnam War and thank them for their sacrifices. That was another war grossly mismanaged by an incompetant Democrat CIC, along with his bean counter McNamara. Neither knew whether they should scratch their watches or wind up their butts. The world is more dangerous today, and we are again stuck with a clueless CIC. May God protect our troops, because this president will not.

Veterans´ Day, November 11, used to be known as Armistice Day. It was kept to remember the end of WWI, the Great War, and to honor the veterans of that war.
Memorial Day has been kept to honor the veterans of WWII, the ´Greatest Generation´.
There is no day to honor the veterans of Viet Nam. Stick it, Mayor Emanuel...

God bless you, #3. I´m sad to hear that.
I have a deep appreciation, respect, and love for all of our veterans, but our Viet Nam Veterans hold a special place in my heart.
Coming of age during that time, seeing first-hand the counterculture movement, and how our Viet Nam heroes were treated, made me realize the possibilty that what we see happening to our country today could actually happen - that we could be destroyed from within our own borders by our own citizens.

A religious group spewing what the owners of One Liberty Place call hate speech against women, whites and gays can no longer demonstrate immediately outside the building´s entrance at 16th and Chestnut Streets, a judge ruled today. The owners of One Liberty Place in Center City Philadelphia filed a lawsuit Wednesday against the Israelite School of Universal Practical Knowledge. The group is frequently seen perched on Center City street corners shouting at passersby through bullhorns. WASHINGTON — Schoolchildren from New Jersey shore communities battered by Superstorm Sandy will join Michelle Obama for a garden harvest next week. The White House says the first lady will also be joined Tuesday by students who helped plant the crops last month. The New Jersey students are from Union Beach Memorial School in Union Beach and Long Beach Island Grade School in Ship Bottom. Both schools were damaged in last October’s storm. TRENTON — President Barack Obama will return to New Jersey on Tuesday to survey Hurricane Sandy recovery efforts with Gov. Chris Christie, according to a statement obtained by The Star-Ledger. The visit will mark Obama´s second trip to the shore since the storm hit about six months ago. “As residents and businesses prepare for a busy summer season, President Obama will visit the Jersey Shore with Governor Christie on Tuesday to view the ongoing recovery efforts after Hurricane Sandy devastated areas of the coastline last fall," the White House statement says.

There have been a number of new revelations this week in the ever expanding scope of the IRS scandal. However, even with so many developments in the investigation of this egregious scandal, there was extremely limited coverage of the unfolding of this affair in the morning news of many more liberal stations like ABC, NBC, and CBS. One of two men allegedly being questioned in connection with the Boston Marathon bombings was shot and killed by an FBI agent in Florida on Tuesday, (Snip)A friend of Ibragim Todashev said he and Todashev were being investigated as part of the Boston bombings. He said Todashev, 27, knew bombing suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev because both were MMA fighters. The man claims he and Todashev were interviewed by the FBI for nearly three hours on Tuesday. The friend said he left the interview, and when he came back to the apartment he found that there had been a shooting.

Longoria, 38, took home a real degree (not an honorary one) in Chicano studies from Cal State Northridge, where she physically attended classes for three years, according to TMZ. "Big day today!!! The fact that this bit of information was conveyed to the protesters by a Department of Homeland Security officer who was also in attendance. On “Fox News Sunday” last weekend, White House aide Dan Pfeiffer was asked about President Barack Obama’s whereabouts the night of the Sept. 11 attack in Benghazi. This was the night when we lost our first ambassador in 30 years, and when three other Americans were killed in an attack that lasted all night long at multiple locations within the eastern Libyan city. Since the president is commander in chief, one would think where he was and what he did during such an event would be of obvious public concern.
