| A 19-year-old man was shot behind the ear Friday night in a church parking lot on the West Side, police said, one of at least seven people shot since about 7:40 p.m. The bullet came out of his neck and the man is still alive, police said. Police taped off the parking lot, which sits between the 2600 blocks of Adams Street and Jackson Boulevard, while detectives and evidence technicians began their investigation. People gathered at the rented-out church for a birthday party when someone shot the man. Police said the partygoers apparently didn´t see what happened. The man is a gang member from

Since the 0bamaNation refuses to give the daily, weekly, monthly statistics of killed-in-action US Military [except sadly suicides], I look forward to these daily reminders of violence in 0bama´s own back yard. More than likely, should he survive [not impeached & removed from office] and we as well his next four years, 0bama will probably retire in Hawaii.

I respectfully disagree with #1. The rest of the country will NOT be like Chicago.
Chicago accepts the democrats anti-firearm laws. The sensible parts of the country are not that clueless or helpless.
But, look for more of this in the "gun free" environments where democrat politicians nest.

Just a casual observation from an old white guy but-- I watch Judge Judy, and she does cases from time to time with black plaintiffs, sometimes teens, sometimes twenty-somethings, filing lawsuits about deficiencies in what appears to be a negro regular practice. Throw yourself a birthday party, hire a party planner, and charge admission to the party. Bad things then happen.

The fact that violent crime is rising rapidly was barely reported on. The Daily Caller did report such facts about 2 weeks ago, but few others.

SAN JOSE— For most Americans in the United States, Armed Forces Day is not on the lists of likely holidays to honor the country’s military in celebrations of Memorial Day or Veteran’s Day. Sadly, most Americans may not even realize that Armed Forces Day is even a legitimate holiday. Armed Forces Day was established to be celebrated on the third Saturday in May. Dorothy, the 14-year-old peregrine falcon that since 2002 has nested on a 40th-floor ledge of the Cathedral of Learning in Oakland, was perched on the limestone railing next to that nest and her lone chick shortly before 9 a.m. Friday. She´d just fed the 22-day-old chick a small bird for breakfast. "Baltimore oriole ... again," said Kate St. John, who blogs about the city´s peregrines. Someone else watching from the office inside the window next to the nest said it looked like Dorothy was calmly "chilling." Ms. St. John´s response was that nothing could be further from the truth.

WASHINGTON — An Internal Revenue Service watchdog testified Friday that he told Obama administration officials in June that he was looking into allegations the IRS targeted conservative groups for extra scrutiny when they applied for tax-exempt status. The revelation by Inspector General Russell George came at the first congressional hearing on the IRS misconduct, which has generated a political firestorm since it was disclosed a week ago. George’s testimony represented the first evidence that officials in the Obama administration knew of the allegations as long as a year ago, during the presidential campaign.

The lawmaker leading the charge to investigate the Benghazi terror attack on Friday subpoenaed the co-author of a report that slammed the State Department but didn´t interview Hillary Clinton. House Oversight Committee Chairman Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) formally demanded that retired ambassador Thomas Pickering submit to being deposed by the committee next Thursday. The subpoena comes in the wake of a series of acrimonious public exchanges this week between the two men. Issa didn´t issue a subpoena to former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Michael Mullen, who co-authored the Benghazi report with Pickering.
