Given the disaterious senate election results, I would submit the only mandate is for McConnell to step down as minority leader.

No matter how you huff and puff, McConnell will be the GOP´s leader during this upcoming spectacle. What he said was exactly what we need to hear. Support him as long as he stays on this track.

The reason we lost the senate was not the "establishment" republicans. McConnell is right. Support him as long as he holds.

#7 I really believe that the people who voted for Obama have no idea what the House of Representatives does or what is it´s responsibility so they didn´t care about them. Our school system has completely failed us in helping our young people, unmarried women and minorities understand the separation of powers. They think the President and the Senate are the most important. Guess what? Their ignorance is our salvation because the House controls the purse strings and Republicans and Conservatives are now controlling the House. If we go over the fiscal cliff, so be it. Maybe these young people will learn very quickly that these elections are not popularity contests and Mr. Obama who is the cooler, hipper candidate will not help them when their looking for a job or losing their present one. And also, the most important lesson is that elections do have consequences, sometimes tragic ones for their own lives.

Remember that McConnell, despite being able to not do anything to stop the Obamacare law due to lack of votes, showed leadership by holding all the repubs in line.

McConnell didn´t cave before. Why would he now? He´s doing what he can in the Senate minority. It´s really Boehner and the House who hold the big stick and I see no evidence of them caving, either, at least not on taxes.

I do worry about immigration, however.

Boehner and McConnell -- two big talkers. Sure would be nice to see them walk the walk for once, and now would be a good time.

He is right. Look at the electoral map, there is no mandate for Obama, look at the House of Representatives and see how people really voted. A few big cities determined the election but it is the districts that really tell the story.

1. Fire Reinse.
2. Hire someone who can recruit palatable winners for Senate and House elections
3. Obstruct, obstruct, obstruct any and all efforts by Dems to grant amnesty or otherwise effectuate a structural shift in the electorate
4. To counter charges of obstructionism, vote "present" ala Dear Leader on all economic issues thereby allowing The Democrat Party with enough rope to hang themselves, politically speaking, on the economy. Let them soak the rich and own the reprocussions. Let them cause their donor base to dry up prior to the 2014 midterms when melanin will not be on the ballot and our voters will be out in droves as was the case in 2010.
5. Resign your post immediately and let someone charismatic, ie Rubio or Rand Paul lead minority opposition.

Amen #10. Not only do the Obama supporters not know what the House does, they don´t seem to know how often they are elected and that they are only one half of Congress. Had to school a couple of Obama supporters at work the other day. Thankfully, these two idiots probably won´t vote in the mid-term elections because they won´t realize that such a thing exists.

Why can´t the Republicans, somewhere in this whole entire country, find one honest person with a voice willing to bring out some inconvenient facts about taxes:

Since income taxes were invented, every time tax rates go up, tax revenues go down; every time tax rates go down, tax revenues go up. It has happened time and again, most notably with Kennedy and Reagan.

And, somewhere out there is a clip of 0bama admitting he knows this is a fact, but he wants to raise taxes "on the rich" for fairness to the poor!

Most of the public, especially the 47%, are to ignorant of economics to understand these facts.

All most low information voters know is, RICH people have more money than ever and you are protecting their tax ´breaks.´ Those voters have no idea where most Federal dollars come from, perhaps Obama´s ´stash.´ You have a madman in the White House, he simply isn´t playing by your rules. Offer to increase top rates some percentage tied to cutting the absurdities of the Coburn examples. Then UP the ante and offer a cut to CONGRESS and the White House´s operating budgets.
