The conservative movement took it pretty good on the chin earlier this week. President Obama and his liberal allies mobilized their vote and got it out very effectively in the key states. On Tuesday night, as I went to bed, I was extremely down and out. But on Wednesday, as the sun rose, my spine stiffened and it was a brand new day. Our conservative cause has taken hits again and again, and each time we come back stronger.
But what changes? We get Rino Bush, McCain and Romney. The person who energized the right for McCain was Palin and the TEA Party. The TEA Party was shut out of this election by Romney. The problem for the Republicans was turn out. The TEA Party and Ron Paul conservatives just weren´t there.
David Bossie seems to be worried only about the ´conservative cause´ and the ´conservative movement´. Let me tell you something Mr. Bossie, we should be more concerned with the survival of our country under the dictator government we have . I´m talking about the government that Americans chose to renew for another four years. You say your spine ´stiffened´. The American people who chose to keep this loser for another term gave our country a ´stiff´ one last week and it wasn´t your spine!!
Those of us who read this site can ´strenghten our spines´ all we want, but where does this get us if our weaker brethern just stay home and pout? Answer: nowhere and a lot poorer financially. We need to find out what happened those 3 million and I´m pretty sure it wasn´t the Rapture. If they´re just dolts, we need to move along to find people who are, you know, helpful.
I keep being told by the media that we must ´change´ to attract more voters. Well, sorry. I can´t help what I believe and don´t plan to change. I believe abortion for convenience is murder. I cannot change my belief just to satisfy the left that wants to shut us up. Same sex marriage is wrong, period. For the gay lobby to try to force a change on traditional marriage between a man and woman is simply wrong. To deny those beliefs in order to ´appeal´ to more voters is immoral.
It´s also a fool´s errand. Being a version of Democrat Lite won´t work. We can never outspend the Dems and shouldn´t even try.
It´s always darkest before the dawn and it is pretty dark now...we survived 20 years of New Deal and Fair Deal crappola along with a World War so this is doable...but this won´t be for the fainthearted
I´m all for stiffened spines and brand new days--to a point. But I don´t think the problem is the ´pouters´ among us, the problem is the Republican Party.
This election has shown us the GOP serves no earthly purpose. This election was handed to the right on a silver platter, and the party of buffoons we call Republicans lost it. Obama didn´t win. The GOP lost. Again.
I´m sure I´ll get nowhere calling for the tarring and feathering of most of the Grand Old Party. But it needs to be abandoned and replaced with a real conservative party.
In the meantime, the Democrats own this country, lock, stock and barrel.
Reading article after article on election fraud and malfunctioning screens and doing further reading how the machines can show who you voted for on the screen but then record on the flash drive the opposite of what the screen had shown, makes me believe more and more there was massive voter fraud in 2012. Can anyone with a straight face tell others that internal polling of a campaign could be so far off? Why have wenot heard of voter fraud in the Blue Dem states or in the for certain Red Republican states------only in the swing states have reports come out. Makes one go Hmmmmmm!
Conservatives, or Republicans, or Tea Party members, pick your name. #5 is right on the money, plus they never give up.
Ever since the left began promoting their views - be it anti-tobacco, anti-Christianity, pro-gay legislation to same sex marriage, free this and free that, they never let up. And they always support their candidate. They would have reelected Anthony Weiner had he not dropped out.
But the big change needed for our side is to pick a candidate and stick with him. Ross Perot gave us 8 years of Clinton. Apparently our Tea Party buddies decided 4 more years of Obama would teach a lesson to the Republican/conservatives. You guys are really just like Obama - it´s your way or else. Thanks for the "or else" jerks. We have to suffer because you are not willing to go a step at a time. All or nothing and we got nothing.
The GOP primary process was particularly brutal this time around. I suspect many ABRs never finished licking their wounds. Sadly, if any of the other contenders had gotten the nomination the blow out would have been of landslide proportions - and Barry would have gotten his ´´mandate´´.
#5 is spot on. The R´s demand so much issue purity that they pout and stay at home if anything at all offends their tender sensibilities. #13 is dead right, also. Fraud on a massive level has been perpetrated. I´m glad to see that Allen West won´t take his quietly. And every Catholic that voted for a D should be told in unequivocal terms that they committed a mortal sin.
1) The first thing we need to do is stop with the liberal-created con-job that Romney lost because conservatives stayed home. I can´t believe there are people on here stupid enough to believe that.
2) I keep hearing about "key states" and the "swing states". Getting them on our side isn´t the solution, it´s the problem. When the Electoral College was designed, it was never thought that there would be solid, non-changing liberal entrenchments in high-electoral areas. Even when I was a kid, for the most part you didn´t know what most states would vote. California, where I live now, will never, ever be anything but a blue state. Liberals in SF, LA and "Latinos" will see to that. So as long as the liberals bribe the swing states, we WILL NOT SEE A REPUBLICAN PRESIDENT.
Do you guys get that? No, "we have to get a better message" or we "need a real conservative" is going to change that.
Hate to say it, but the country just changed. Look out for your families and friends the best you can, and look for ways to skirt around government regulation. That is what we are facing, deal with it.
WE have to do what Breitbart did. Talk to the liberals that run from us or attack us. How?
One-on-one is what we should do a little of every week this country miraculously stays afloat. For heaven´s sake, folks, he went to dinner with Ayers & Dorn!! He invited the conversation, he didn´t treat them like "us vs. them".
He asked the question: "Why do you hate me?" Then he shredded their programmed rhetoric with facts.
Then he used the internet & cell phones, then lectures -- later came the MSM & FOX once he gained notoriety.
We need to join the Party that he & Palin caused to explode -- the Tea Party. We have to push back with knowledge & information. The Baby Boomers are aging now & we can find more time to do what we did when we were young: PROTEST! Make the media listen! I´m through expecting the Old Guard GOP to do this. I am sending them a letter telling them why I am resigning.
We need to buy air time & produce programs that address the media lies -- even going back to what SNL did to Palin & then comparing her to Biden. If the networks won´t sell us airtime, sue & demand the FCC take their licenses for not allowing equal time! Our own Sixty Minutes type show on an alphabet channel every Sunday night. Fight fire with fire! Take our country back!
Great idea #19, it worked wonders with Perot. I don´t mean to be snarky, but I really don´t know why people are posting that they are just going to quit. Who needs your negativity now? Tell these: http://www.militarytimes.com/valor/

On the contrary, that was a major reason for the EC, to prevent mob rule from the populous cities. In fact our Constitutional Republic was set up to prevent the ´´tyranny of the majority´´. And the urban mobs look like they are heading for majority status. The main reason that they do not control the house is that so much of the mob are concentrated in geographically small urban districts where even damaged-goods Congressman like Jesse Jackson Jr can get 80% of the vote when they campaign, and 71% when they don´t.
To paraphrase Talleyrand, this election was ´far, far worse that a crushing defeat; it was a blunder´. Principled conservatives warned incessantly about Romney, your quintessential grinning goober type and Dewey/Rockefeller/Scranton/Weld clone, losers all. But we were told to sit down and shut up, as he was the Man. The reality is cold and hard. Willard Romney stood for anything, everything and nothing, all in the same sentence; a fact the voters clearly understood. His elitist pretentions of good breeding, schooling and nice manners never connected w/working class voters. Never. The GOP replaced the Whigs. Who will replace, the long dead fossilized carcass called the GOP?
I am consoled by the fact that the House of Representatives is still in Republican hands, many of whom are conservative, and by the fact that 33 Republican governors can do plenty to slow, attack, and thwart Obama´s socialism. There are 49% of us who will be resisting. That will impede the socialists and the communist-mentored president. Meanwhile, I will be indoctrinating my children and grandchildren (and their friends when possible).
#22, in talking to people who voted for Obama, I´ve heard exactly those sentiments. I´ve heard that he was a rich boy who would say anything to get what he wants and who doesn´t care about anyone but himself, that he had no plan and no vision. This was the Obama strategy: portray Romney in just this way, and run against him rather than running on Obama´s record. It worked. But what is puzzling is that people fell for it rather than holding Obama to account. The Republican party either has to start listening to conservatives or die because they are going to lost us. If anyone says, "Where will you go?" we´ll say, "We don´t have anything to lose. The Republicans don´t represent us any more than the Democrats would."
#15, I don´t know where you get your information. Our Tea Party pays for office space. We have held weekly meetings and have had roadside rallies almost every weekend for the last four years. We interview, and vet any candidate that asks for our help. We all differed on who we supported within the GOP until the last man was standing. We paid for a phone bank and called registered republicans all over the country to get out and vote for Romney. WE the Tea Party did not stay home, the blame does not lay with us.
#26. For the record, I´m certainly not into martyrdom and have no idea what your talking about. In simple English, Willard Romney was a terrible candidate; which principled conservatives warned about repeatedly. He was a trendy leftist running as leader of a center-right party, hence Talleyrand´s ´blunder´. The voters knew in their bones he had no core and so chose the incompetent devil they knew. Suggest you reflect on reality and park the abuse.
When Dayna Morales, a restaurant server in New Jersey and former U.S. Marine, claimed a family wrote her a hateful note on a receipt, outrage ensued. "I´m sorry but I cannot tip because I do not agree with your lifestyle and how you live your life," read the note. Morales, who is gay, posted a photo of the receipt on Facebook. Morales went on news programs and showed off the receipt with the message. But now, the alleged customers have come forward saying they left no note and did leave the waitress a tip. The note, they claim, is a fake, according to NBC New York. The family, which wished to remain anonymous,
This morning on "This Week," New Jersey Republican Gov. Chris Christie brushed off criticism reported in the new book "Double Down" from a member of Mitt Romney´s 2012 vice presidential vetting team, saying his advice was not something he should "give a darn about." "First off, political advice from people who ran the Romney campaign is probably something nobody should really give a darn about, so let´s start with that," Christie told ABC´s George Stephanopoulos. "But secondly, all these issues have been vetted and if I ever run for anything again, they´ll be vetted again." Christie was responding to comments from Ted
Everyone knows why the GOP lost in 2012. Social issues distracted voters from the winning Republican economic message – at least that’s what most people believe. A new report released by American Principles in Action, a 501c4 organization based in Washington, D.C., states that this theory, while widely held, is incorrect. The problem with this belief is two-fold. First, the social issues, if played on offense, actually help Republicans win elections. And secondly, the GOP economic message failed to connect with middle class voters immediate economic concerns.
An Iraq War veteran´s towering SpongeBob SquarePants headstone has been removed from her final resting place because officials at the historic Cincinnati cemetery deemed it inappropriate for their traditional grounds. The headstone of Kimberly Walker, 28, was made in the likeness of her favorite cartoon character and erected at Spring Grove Cemetery on Oct. 10, almost eight months after she was found slain in a Colorado hotel room. Despite getting the cemetery´s prior approval of the headstone´s design — a smiling SpongeBob in an Army uniform, with Walker´s name and rank — her family said Monday that cemetery staff called them the
There is no such thing as a free lunch ... or an all-expenses paid trip to Acapulco. That´s what "The Price Is Right" contestant Andrea Schwartz found out when she scored $33,000 worth of prizes, including a shiny red Mazda 2 compact car, a pool table, and a shuffle board table, on the popular television game show. Schwartz told Yahoo! Shine that contestants won´t quite know what hit them if they make it on to the show. "It´s a whirlwind, they shove you around, and then you are suddenly in the parking lot, saying, ´I just played Plinko.´" You may not
CAIRO — After torching a Franciscan school, Islamists paraded three nuns on the streets like "prisoners of war" before a Muslim woman offered them refuge. Two other women working at the school were sexually harassed and abused as they fought their way through a mob. In the four days since security forces cleared two sit-in camps by supporters of Egypt´s ousted president, Islamists have attacked dozens of Coptic churches along with homes and businesses owned by the Christian minority. The campaign of intimidation appears to be a warning to Christians outside Cairo to stand down from political activism. Christians have long
President Obama took his case for ending the sequester to hundreds of disabled veterans Saturday, saying he protected their benefits from the “reckless” cuts to the federal budget but suggesting next year might be different. “It’s hurting our military. I made it clear that your veteran’s benefits are exempt from this year’s sequester,” the president said to the applause of hundreds at the Disabled American Veterans´ convention in Orlando, Fla. “But I want to tell you going forward the best way to protect the VA care you have earned is to get rid of this sequester altogether.”
A veteran Washington adviser who has worked for four Presidents on both sides of the political aisle said that the stunning Government Accountability Report report that found President Barack Obama has not had a one-on-one meeting with Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius since the passage of Obamacare over three years ago is an indictment of the entire White House operation and shows that the Obama administration has bordered on "malfeasance." "I have no doubt the White House is right, that Secretary Sebelius was in several group meetings with the president about health care," Gergen caveated, "but the whole
President Barack Obama’s Facebook page on Saturday posted a message honoring the dead from Pearl Harbor—accompanied by a picture of Obama descending the stairs next to the Pearl Harbor Memorial. The picture barely fits the name of the Arizona Memorial so it can frame Obama in the foreground. The post´s statement reads: Today, with solemn pride and reverence, let us remember those who fought and died at Pearl Harbor, acknowledge everyone who carried their legacy forward, and reaffirm our commitment to upholding the ideals for which they served. President Obama The Obama Administration´s current shipbuilding plan shrinks the size of
Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel, the hapless, goalpost-shifting so-called "architect" of Obamacare, told Fox News´ Chris Wallace on Fox News Sunday that President Barack Obama´s promise "if you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor" was absolutely true--with one important caveat: if you like your doctor, "you can pay for it." Wallace grilled Dr. Emanuel, challenging his false claims that California´s enrollment was keeping pace with the percentage of the young population necessary to keep the system afloat, and pointing out that the president´s promise on doctors would collapse once people lost their insurance or their
Just how much do many Hollywood liberals hate conservatives? In an interview with Playboy, Ben Affleck said, "When I watch a guy [on film] I know is a big Republican, part of me thinks, I probably wouldn’t like this person if I met him": PLAYBOY: You developed a political profile campaigning for presidential candidates Al Gore, John Kerry and Barack Obama. How did that come about? AFFLECK: I grew up in a house with a mother who was a teacher and a Freedom Rider—very left-wing Democrats living in a heterogeneous working-class neighborhood. I picked up a lot of those values there, and I
The U.S. isn´t called "America the Beautiful" for nothing. Each year, millions of tourists come from home and abroad to see the country´s majestic landscape and iconic sites, from the Grand Canyon to the Statue of Liberty. But there are also cool, quirky attractions, like Vermont´s Ben & Jerry´s Factory and Tennessee´s Graceland, the former home of Rock and Roll King Elvis Presley. From California to New York and everywhere in between, the country is chock-full of incredible attractions that keep luring in visitors. Here are the best tourist attractions in every state.
MSNBC host Melissa Harris-Perry opened her program over the weekend with a commentary about the Affordable Care Act’s colloquial moniker: “Obamacare.” She said that the word was originally created as a “derogatory term,” designed by white men as a way to delegitimize President Barack Obama and his achievement. However, she said that the term will soon be synonymous with all of Obama’s accomplishments and she urged her audience to use the term with pride. “I want to talk today about a controversial word. It’s a word that has been with us for years, and like it or not, it’s indelibly
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu made a last minute decision not to participate in a memorial service for the late South African President Nelson Mandela, despite having notified the South African government that he would attend the event. The decision was made in light of the high transportation costs resulting from the short notice of the trip and the security required for the prime minister in Johannesburg. The Prime Minister’s Office found that the trip would have cost roughly 7 million shekels ($2.4 million) – 2.8 million shekels for chartering a private El Al plane and a further 3.2 million shekels for
