CIA Director Petraeus
Resigns Over 'Affair'

Breitbart's Big Peace, by Ben Shapiro

Original Article

Posted By:Dreadnought, 11/9/2012 8:53:22 PM

Just two days after President Obama’s re-election, General David Petraeus, the CIA Director, has resigned from the administration over an extramarital affair. Petraeus was slated to testify before Congress next week on the murder of four Americans, including Ambassador Chris Stevens, in Benghazi, Libya. Bret Baier of Fox News just tweeted, "With Petraeus’ resignation effective immediately, he will not testify next week & lawmakers are said to be 'stunned' by the announcement." He sent a letter to his colleagues stating: Yesterday afternoon, I went to the White House

Lots of comments on the other story; but one can only ask "Coincidence five days before testifying?"

Me thinks he was going to hang Barry out to dry.

Am I missing something? I don't see why this should make one whit of difference as to whether he should be compelled to testify. Of course at this point we should be afraid of what we wish for. He could have been so compromised that he has gone totally over to the "other side." In any event, he certainly should stay away from Fort Marcy.

Some posters wonder how to threaten a 4-star who is a Ranger and has seen combat.

1. You fire gum from his civil-service CIA job without a pension.

2. You threaten to stop his 4-star retirement income.

3. You tell him it will cost him millions and millions in defense attorney costs.

Get the picture.

Even if he testifies he can say that without any records in his hands everything is hearsay. And he can't trust his memory.

The alleged bimbo wrote a book about him. You know plenty of security people have seen them together.

Axelrod and Clinton at work.

FTA: ''This afternoon, the President graciously accepted my resignation.''

All one has to do is look into 0bama's cold eyes to know that this isn't true. When the head of the CIA, involved intimately with the death of four men ''on his personal watch,'' resigns the Friday before testimony on Capitol Hill, he's truly trying to hide something. 0bama, as much as Hillary, also share the blood on their soulless hands for the murder of Ambassador Stevens & the three men with him.

As I said before, even Petraeus, as a former General has got to know that troops will not fight ''well'' in any battle if they sense weakness in their officer staff that leads or their partners in a foxhole. Obviously, the individual fighting man will never leave a man behind, just the dRATS Party that currently puts them in Harm's Way. [Or let them vote].

As a whistle blower, would Obomination dare cut off his pension? I hope he stands up for Doherty and Woods and tells all. Their honor and their sacrifice deserve it.

Gosh. one of only about eight generals who endorsed Obama is quiting his job because he cheated on his wife. Perhaps a Secret Service job has opened.

On the flip side, I haven't heard any bad things about the 200 or so generals and such who endorsed Romney. I've always thought Petraeus was overated.

JOhn Boehner is the next President of the United States. When this all comes out and it is found that Obamawho the head of the CIA reports to, told Petraeus to lie at the upcoming hearings or his affair would be exposed, Petraeus resigned. The administration has known for months about the affair and kept it quiet. An impeachable offense. Biden had to know as well as Clinton and Panetta. Order of succession is VP and then Speaker of the House. Obama gone. Biden gone. God may be on our side yet.

Not a bad idea for Petraeus to resign. If you were Zer0´s general, you would find a way out if you didn´t want to help a tyrant do more harm to the homeland and make politically expedient military decisions that butchered your troops.

Like Hitler, this megalomaniac thinks he can out-general his generals. He´s nothing more than a Norman Dike in charge of the whole US armed forces.

Was Petraus under oath when he already testified before the committee in closed door session that the Video was the cause for the Benghazi situatio? After that meeting was when the statement that the CIA did Not deny additional security to Benghazi or fail to send aid on 9-11.

Dieane Feinstein has the power to call, or not, petraeus to testify. I don´t think I have to tell you how THAT will turn out.
The biographer claims she researched petraeus for three years for her dissertation and then was allowed to be in afghanistan with him for an extended period. James Bond where are you when we need you?
Debka claims she was caught trying to access petraeus´ emails and that caused concern with the fbi. Recently a secret service guy committed suicide because he was having an affair with a foreign entity. Wonder what broadwell´s background is? So much good conspiracy stuff.

Interesting. Bill Clinton had an affair in the White House, with an intern the Secret Service knew was "servicing" him. Why didn´t he resign? Hmmm... integrity? But then again, how many people who ran for President and was elected and re-elected had several rape charges against them over the years and is still loved by the liberal masses?

About an affair that must have been known for at least two years? He´s had several security checks during that time. And now he´s afraid these thugs might tell his wife? Bah, humbug, BS.

His life or his family was threatened, there´s a far more sinister secret or he has something to tell that DiFi isn´t willing to let him bring up. He´s going to be the fall guy no matter. Maybe this is the only way to set the record straight.

Perhaps silence from General Petraeus will be the loudest testimony of all.

I agree with the #2 post. Since when does one´s ´release´ from employment protect that person from giving testimony about crimes which were committed under his watch?

Breitbart´s Big Piece indeed.

Actually, the fact this is now about sex will totally divert attention from Obama. Everyone will be on hyperdrive looking for ever more salacious details about the general and the babelicious JILF. The previously incurious MSM will seek out every Who, What, When, Where, and How about this embed. Obama could walk through carrying a sign saying "Yes, I lied", and no one would notice. The guy, so far, is leading a charmed life. First Sandy, now this.

Reply 29 - Posted by: OperaBuff, 11/10/2012 8:15:02 AM     (No. 9004665)

The reason BO offered the CIA job to Petraeus was to get him out of the 2012 presidential race, whether as a vastly popular candidate or a powerful supporter of the Stupid Party candidate. Now that the 2012 race is over, Petraeus becomes disposable. Having an honest guy like Petraeus around is anathema to the genetically corrupt BO regime. Even without Benghazi, Petraeus would have been elbowed out. The Benghazi hearings merely settled the timing, that´s all.

Okay I´m confused. It was okay for Clinton to have sex all over the White House with any woman within reach. It was cute. Wink, wink, nudge, nudge. The bimbo eruptions were humorous and endearing, right? What a scalawag ole Billy was. So I´m not sure why one man having one affair has to resign? Is he the only one in the military or in Washington or in the CIA who has had an affair? I didn´t think so.

Reply 31 - Posted by: heneverlies, 11/10/2012 8:21:02 AM     (No. 9004680)

After the rampage attack on 911 in Bengazi, you know that when Princeton Petraeus went to bed his wife wispered in his ear "honey, you´re going to be smeared by Obama for this fiasco in Libya one way or the other!"

Petraeus knows the truth about that event, plain and simple. He is a career military officer who has had "victor" stenciled on his uniform. He would know what an affair could cost him. He would know who would want that information to use against him.

We will see how he responds, both as a husband, as a former director of the CIA, and as a soldier.

When will, or are they now coming out, the long knives for Obama-Mao?

Recall how his daddy fared in Kenya trying to sell his economic beliefs, etc. Will Obama be self-destructing right before our very eyes...shortly?

I say yes he will!

These liberal Generals have to know their place. Remembering ValJar ordering a decorated officer to fetch her a drink refill at a WH party?
When McChrytle got too much press for requesting additional troops, the O gang found his Achilles heel (apparently it was knocking them back with the guys). With Petraeus, the Achilles heel had long been embedded. His statement absolving the CIA in the Benghazi murders led to his post-election "resignation." I assume there are sex tapes or perhaps free-spending behavior with the hottie to keep Petraeus under the thumb of the CIC.

This is mystifying. A member of a Democrat administration has to resign over a spot of adultery? Are you kidding me? This should be a plus, occurring as it did in the post-sexual revolution Democrat party. I mean, look at Bill Clinton, for Pete´s sake.

Reply 39 - Posted by: cgood, 11/10/2012 9:29:48 AM     (No. 9004843)

Okay, I´ll join the speculation party. Petraeus loves his country and, as it naturally follows, wanted Obama out before he destroys everything. When Benghazi broke, Petraeus got a visit from one of the Chicago folks and was threatened with blackmail about his affair if he told the truth about the regime´s cover-up. Petraeus hoped the electorate would take care of Obama, but when that didn´t happen, he chose to resign, confess, and free himself to expose this scandal. Sounds plausible, but we should find out shortly if this scenario is pure fantasy. I´m not holding my breath. Heroes are in short supply these days.

Petraeus did not resign over extramarital affair. Why resign over an affair that ended more than a year ago. The key is proximity to testifying about what he knew about Obama and the murders in Benghazi. The corruption from the administration is only going to get worse and more blatant.

Do you people actually think that axlegrease removed the horses head off the Petraeus bed??

This guy knows how accidents occur. He´s spooked about his family receiving the "Chicago Treatment". Don´t think he´s that concerned about his own reputation any longer.

He´s going to be as ruined as Joe Paterno was in his last days. This will be his only "achievement" recorded for the history books.

Too many plots and twists... the suspense is killing me.

I will say this about Petraeus... the timing is fishy.

My speculation is Obama is arming the Islamic rebels in Libya, to filter into the Muslim Brotherhood Egypt. All in the attempts to wipe Israel off the map.

ValJar will keep Obama in plenty of mood enhancing drugs to self destruct. Sorry. wont happen.

Why is this NYT´s 7/12 piece being released? are we talking blackmail...this was well after the affair in Afganistan 2010-2011

http://www.nytimes.com/2012/07...

FTA

MY WIFE’S LOVER

My wife is having an affair with a government executive. His role is to manage a project whose progress is seen worldwide as a demonstration of American leadership. (This might seem hyperbolic, but it is not an exaggeration.) I have met with him on several occasions, and he has been gracious. (I doubt if he is aware of my knowledge.) I have watched the affair intensify over the last year, and I have also benefited from his generosity. He is engaged in work that I am passionate about and is absolutely the right person for the job. I strongly feel that exposing the affair will create a major distraction that would adversely impact...

The fact that you’re willing to accept your wife’s infidelity for some greater political good is beyond honorable. In fact, it’s so over-the-top honorable that I’m not sure I believe your motives are real. Part of me wonders why you’re even posing this question, particularly in a column that is printed in The New York Times.

...Do you admire this man so much that you haven’t asked your wife why she keeps having sex with him? I halfway suspect you’re writing this letter because you want specific people to read this column and deduce who is involved and what’s really going on behind closed doors (without actually addressing the conflict in person). That’s not ethical, either.

.....just three short WEEKS before Obama mentions at one of his Fundraisers on August 8, 2012 that Romney "Thinks Petraeus will be his VP"....over a year, 15 months, after the affair had STOPPED...

Message sent...message received...

Reply 53 - Posted by: bassman, 11/10/2012 2:26:14 PM     (No. 9005466)

This is just the beginning. Petraeus screwed up having the affair, but Obama screwed up trying to blackmail him so he would lie about Benghazi in front of the committee. Trying to blackmail a man that would die for his country with an affair was a gross miscalculation by Obama. Petraeus will deal whatever the consequences are with his marriage no matter how it falls, but for love of country he will spill the beans on Obama.
Like many others here I have been very depressed about Romney losing the election, but with Petraeus´ resignation it has hit me that things happen for reason. If this Benghazi investigation goes where it should go, Obama and the Democreats can be severly damaged. If Obama had lost much of this would have been forgotten. But if it is proven and reported to the American people what Obama did, Obama and the Democrats can be severly damaged for a long time. I just have a feeling this may worked out for the best for our country long term.

Sorry for the double post, but in the end this has nothing to do any letters to the NYT or Petraeus´ affair. This is about Benghazi!! The affair and how it unraveled is only the catalyst to exposing what happened before, during, and after the Benghazi attack. Obama tried to blackmail Petraeus into lieing and it will backfire. The details about the affair mean nothing other than the press will be reporting it and it will lead to them reporting on Benghazi. Ultimately I think the House will impeach Obama. The Dems in the Senate will be faced with either impeaching him or defending him. Either one will not be good for the Dems, but it will be good for America. God works in mysterious ways. Sandra left Obama in office only so he may be brought down in a way the whole world can see.

This is all turning into a maze of lies and diversions. It would not surprise me one bit if Paula was put up to seducing Petraeus just so the admin could have something to hold over him. He was away from home and thinking with his other brain, so it was easy. Something is really wrong here and smells very bad. And the timing is so blatantly laughable, they really think we´re stupid. No, they don´t, it´s that they know they can and will get away with anything. The media will stick with Obama no matter what, and anything the Republicans say will be used against them, not Obama.

The FBI is Johnny on the spot when it comes to taking down a fellow-American, but can´t accomplish anything when it comes to our safety or the safety of our ambassadors.

I am sure Obama set Petraeous up. He hired him to get him out of running against him and used his patriotism to prove he was unbiased, but then double-crossed him. What´s new.

Oh, Obama is having a day on the golf course. Back to the old ways!

America has allowed a good man to be destroyed (Romney) by a Chicago-thug who knows how to raise havoc and cause disharmony. His new banner is Revenge. Hope served its purpose last time and many fell for his words of bringing US together. How has that worked out? There is more racism today and more class warfare, all caused by the man in the White House.

Pray for America! Only God can deliver US from the evil that has prevailed through these past years and will continue unless we bend our knees and submit to the Word that sets men free - Jesus!

When McCain & the others came out of the meeting they were all shocked with Petraeus´s statements. My guess is Petraeus will not spill the beans. Powell will take his job.

I think Petraeus was set up by this administration. Remember when he was referred to as David Betray-us? Remember when he was no friend of this administration? Then he is appointed the director of the CIA? And a good looking woman decides to write an autobiography of him and has an affair with him? Then he resigns a couple of days before he´s to testify before congress?

I believe she was a plant to ruin him, destroy his credibility and silence him forever. I wonder how much this woman was paid?

This letter to the NYT relating to the writer´s supposed spouse having an affair with a high level government official is bogus, in the respect that it was not an aggrieved spouse who sent the letter to the NYT, as men don´t do such things.

So if that letter was actually sent to the NWT by anyone connected to the affair in question, it is safe to bet that the letter was authored and sent to the NYT by the lady who was involved in the affair, and not her spouse.

I don´t care who or what he was screwing--what I want to know is what did he know about Benghazi and when did he know it.

His wife can have the delicious task of sorting out where his private parts have been lately.

I hope she has a good attorney.

Tea party looks to take

DES MOINES, Iowa — Is the tea party getting its groove back? Shouts of vindication from around the country suggest the movement´s leaders certainly think so. They say the IRS acknowledgement that it had targeted their groups for extra scrutiny — a claim that tea party activists had made for years — is helping pump new energy into the coalition. And they are trying to use that development, along with the ongoing controversy over the Benghazi, Libya, terrorist attacks and the Justice Department´s secret seizure of journalists´ phone records, to recruit new activists incensed about government overreach.

Several major cases will be decided by the Supreme Court over the next six weeks, including historic issues such as gay marriage and affirmative action. These cases make the remainder of the Court’s term—which ends in June—one of the most carefully watched terms by millions of Americans. In addition to several significant cases that have already been decided this year, the justices of the High Court have at least ten important issues to decide before adjourning for the summer. Two headline cases involve race relations

Since his emergence as a national political figure, Barack Obama has managed to deflect accusations of wrongdoing and impropriety with ease. Republicans on Capitol Hill are determined to put that to an end by making him pay for the unfolding scandal at the Internal Revenue Service. “Ultimately responsibility lies with the president. Obama has spent the better part of the last five years doing non-stop campaigning,” says a senior Republican Senate aide who points to the administration’s larger pattern of “using political offices to intimidate and harrass” its opponents. “When bureaucrats see the leader

“And the war will end by the end of next year .?.?. ” In the elusive search for an Obama Doctrine, that struck me as a telling phrase when I heard the president deliver it last week as he and British Prime Minister David Cameron took a couple of questions from reporters. Obama was speaking about the withdrawal of U.S. and allied combat troops from Afghanistan by the end of 2014. “Our troops will continue to come home, and the war will end,” he said. In fact, the war is unlikely to end. It may well accelerate as the Taliban

When the Justice Department began investigating possible leaks of classified information about North Korea in 2009, investigators did more than obtain telephone records of a working journalist suspected of receiving the secret material. They used security badge access records to track the reporter’s comings and goings from the State Department, according to a newly obtained court affidavit. They traced the timing of his calls with a State Department security adviser suspected of sharing the classified report. They obtained a search warrant for the reporter’s personal e-mails. The case

In early 2010, an Internal Revenue Service team in Cincinnati began noticing a stream of applications from groups with political-sounding names, setting in motion a dragnet aimed at separating legitimate tax-exempt groups from those working to get candidates elected. The IRS officials decided to single out one type of political group for particular scrutiny. “These cases involve various local organizations in the Tea Party movement,” read one internal IRS e-mail sent at the time. A few hours north in Fremont, Ohio, the owners of a drainage supply shop, Tom and Marion Bower, were wondering why it was taking so long

Obama´s Counsel Told of IRS
Audit Findings Weeks Ago

The White House´s chief lawyer learned weeks ago that an audit of the Internal Revenue Service likely would show that agency employees inappropriately targeted conservative groups, a senior White House official said Sunday. That disclosure has prompted a debate over whether the president should have been notified at that time. In the week of April 22, the Office of the White House Counsel and its head, Kathryn Ruemmler, were told by Treasury Department attorneys that an inspector general´s report was nearing completion, the White House official said. In that conversation, Ms. Ruemmler learned that "a small

What did President Obama do on the evening of 9/11/12 when our men were under attack in Benghazi? The invaluable Andrew McCarthy reminds us that Obama and Secretary Clinton had a 10:00 p.m. phone call of which many (including, I think, Chris Wallace) have lost sight. This morning when Wallace asked Obama aide Dan Pfeiffer what Obama was up to that evening, Pfeiffer declared the line of inquiry “offensive.” Translation: Obama and his minions would prefer to “move on” and are warning the likes of FNC off:(Snip for video)The Weekly Standard’s Daniel Halper has posted the rush transcript

WASHINGTON - There were new questions Saturday night concerning if anyone in the White House was aware of the IRS´ targeting of conservative groups. The Treasury Department confirmed the timeline but said they did not know the details of the investigation until last week.(Snip)Marcus Owens ran the tax-exempt division at the IRS for 10 years. It began in earnest last Friday. A flash mob of latte drinking, tofu eating media that has done its best to quell, rather than fan the flames of truth, turned on one of their own. Jay Carney lay bludgeoned at the base of the podium, a victim of friendly fire. Ironically, the attack was reminiscent of the one in Benghazi he has repeatedly denied the Administration he represents bears any responsibility for. “Changed twelve times?!” came the cries. And with good reason. We were misled; no, lied to.

The Washington Post on Monday reported that Obama’s Department of Justice was investigating journalists before they started wiretapping the Associated Press – for one, Fox News correspondent James Rosen in 2010. Their headline wasn´t "Obama Team Also Spied on Fox News." Fox wasn´t in the headline, on A-1 or on A-12, where the story continued. Newly obtained court documents “reveal how deeply investigators explored the private communications of a working journalist — and raise the question of how often journalists have been investigated as closely as Rosen was in 2010.” Reporter Ann Marimow began:

WASHINGTON – White House senior adviser Dan Pfeiffer said Sunday Republicans owe Susan Rice, the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, an apology for alleging she played a part in formulating the White House’s response to the attacks in Benghazi, Libya, last year that killed four Americans. Pfeiffer said on ABC’s “This Week” that the release of more than 100 pages of Benghazi emails and notes show “beyond a shadow of the doubt” that accusations she tried to change the narrative of what happened in the attacks was false. "And, frankly, I think that many of the Republicans
