Breaking: CIA Director Petraeus

Ulsterman Report, by Ulsterman

Original Article

This may prove even more important than the initial reports suggest. Is Director David Petraeus a fatality of Chicago politics – made to remain silent prior to the election and now left to act as the administration’s sacrifice to Congressional investigators in the wake of the Benghazi scandal? Or is the former military general preparing to unleash facts that will lead directly back to the Obama White House and the president himself regarding what really happened on September 11th of this year when four Americans – including a U.S. ambassador, were killed during a coordinated terrorist attack against

UPDATED almost the moment I clicked final confirmation of post:

UPDATE: Reports now circulating that Petraeus’ scheduled testimony next week before Congress regarding the Benghazi Massacre has been cancelled.

« Entire Romney Campaign “Shellshocked” By Election Loss

That makes absolutely no sense. Will Congress simply subpoena Petraeus and force his testimony regardless? More importantly – why WOULDN”T Congress do just that? And would the former general participate, or would he plead the 5th? Or perhaps the Obama White House would initiate sweeping Executive Privilege as they did with Fast and Furious and dare Congressional leaders to try and force the president’s hand. He so far has successfully buried the Fast and Furious investigation – why not Benghazi as well?

Update goes on to say that some are saying that his "affair" occurred over a year ago.

Stay tuned.

How tough is this to figure out? Zippy found out that Petraeus wasnt' going to fall on his sword and take the blame. Jarrett told him if you don't, we're going to smear you with details of this affair. He said "You can't fire me, I quit" and pre-emptively confessed to the affair.

It's the Chicago way, people. I'm disappointed in all of you. Back to studying, all of you!

Always heard that he worked REAL HARD on the job.

He probably didn't even have an affair--it's just an excuse that he can use to quit.

I wouldn't be surprised if someone has made threats to him.

Haul his arse up to Congress next week. Drag him if you have to.

We demand it.

One becomes a General by singing the company song no matter what it is.

David has resigned because he will not be a party to murder and cover up.

I hope.

Subpoena him for what took place on his watch. The rest of this is an attempt to stop the truth from being heard.

Nothing about Petraeus' resignation passes the smell test.

Still, the White House, with concurrence by the FBI and Justice Department, held off on asking for Petraeus’ resignation until after the election. His resignation occurred three days after the election, avoiding the possibility that Obama’s ill-fated appointment of Petraeus could become an issue in the election.

FBI agents on the case were aware that such a decision had been made to hold off on forcing him out until after the election and were outraged.

“The decision was made to delay the resignation apparently to avoid potential embarrassment to the president before the election,” an FBI source says. “To leave him in such a sensitive position where he was vulnerable to potential blackmail for months compromised our security and is inexcusable.”

Is it true that the hearing is to be before a Senate Committee headed up by the decorated and oft wounded Viet Nam Hero, Senator John F Kerry?

And now that Patraeus has resigned, Kerry's committee is "no longer interested" in having Patraeus testify about Benghazi?

And meanwhile President Putt is off to the orient for high colonics or somesuch?

...like manyt, I haave spent a couple of days questioning my abilities of decernment, we have taken a another step toward "Idiocracy"...

...but this is most strange. There is nothing to stop him being called to hearings. Maybe not Jon (served in Viet Nam) Kerry and perhaps next S.0.S., but congress should be all over it, if need be...

...if there are games going on, Petraeus has just filled a brown paper bag with some warm wet stuff and has lit and left it on the doorsteps of the White House...

Gen. John Allen has been appointed special U.S. envoy on security issues in negotiations between Israel and the Palestinian Authority. He will not mediate between the parties; his work will almost exclusively involve contacts with Israel. Allen will deal with the U.S. position on Israeli security needs and the security arrangements that would accompany the establishment of a future Palestinian state. Senior U.S. and Israeli officials note that while U.S. Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel made the appointment it was coordinated with U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry, who is leading the effort to restart Israeli-Palestinian negotiations.

Former Rep. I’m running for mayor because I’ve been fighting for the middle class and those struggling to make it for my entire life.

The public got its first look Thursday at Lois Lerner, who has gone from faceless IRS bureaucrat to the face that launched what feels like 1,000 congressional hearings and conspiracy theories. But it was only a brief sighting since she didn´t stay long at a House hearing to further probe her role in how some IRS workers came to target conservative groups seeking tax-exempt status. (Snip)She did make a short statement to declare her innocence, however. Lerner´s motivation was more transparent than much of what the IRS has done in connection with this controversy. When you get right down to it, the political targeting and stalling of tax-exempt applications by the IRS was an effort to defund the Tea Party. Rick Santelli, one of the Tea Party founders and my CNBC colleague, was the first to make this point. I’ve taken it a step further: The IRS was taking the Tea Party out of play for the 2012 election, as it looked to avoid a repeat of 2010 and another Tea Party landslide. There are a lot of numbers out there.

On “Fox News Sunday” last weekend, White House aide Dan Pfeiffer was asked about President Barack Obama’s whereabouts the night of the Sept. 11 attack in Benghazi. This was the night when we lost our first ambassador in 30 years, and when three other Americans were killed in an attack that lasted all night long at multiple locations within the eastern Libyan city. Since the president is commander in chief, one would think where he was and what he did during such an event would be of obvious public concern.
