'Don't back down!' 8-in-10 GOP
voters urge Hill Republicans

Washington Examiner, by Paul Bedard

Republican voters, shell-shocked by the Democratic wave that swept over the country Tuesday, are not ready to give up the ship. Instead, they want GOP lawmakers to fight President Obama even harder. While many voters want the dueling political parties to break bread and solve issues in a bipartisan way, Rasmussen Reports revealed in a new poll that a whopping 79% of Republicans think their party should stand up for principles and not cave in to compromise. "Republicans are even more emphatic that the GOP should stick to its principles than they were four years ago," said Rasmussen.

Comments:
Really! We sure have nothing to lose now by being called the "party of no." It's hard telling what Boehner will do.

TEA Party is a dirty word to Boehner, McConnell and the rest of the Republican Establishment RINOs. There are about 80 to 90 Congressman and maybe 3 Senators that are fighting for us.

Anything with Rasmussen name attached is total BS like Scott Rasmussen. He can take his polls and shove 'em where the sun don't shine!

All Boehner and the repubs have done is back down. They don't care. They don't have to live by the rules they set. They don't have to worry about the future, as they are set for life, living off of the taxpayers teat.

We The People don't matter, we don't have the funds to contribute that gets our concerns and issues covered. We don't get face time. We get perfunctory fake concerns from staff. Boehner, being the King of GoAlong, and his brother-in-arms Mitch McConnell will no doubt hear "I won again", ask for a little bit of something for their local constituents, and cave again.

This pubbie and my pubbie friends say No New Taxes. I think Rasmussen has this one right.

Would these be the same GOP voters who didn't show up for Romney?

Romney pulled fewer votes than McCain for the cripes sake and now they want the Republicans to stand up for principles?

Reply 7 - Posted by: michellewsc2, 11/9/2012 11:05:51 AM     (No. 9002467)

I think we should put all Republicans on notice that unless they do what we want them to do they're gone in 2014...vote in new republicans who will govern the way WE want.

Nope, this pubbie says screw em all. Vote present on every Dem item. Let them own it all. Tear it down, let it fail, rebuilding from the ashes is the only way to do it right. I'm ready for it....are you?

Boehner should compromise. Raise taxes on liberals.

Are there any options open left to defeat Obamacare? It is probably a slim chance but Obama and Democrats would fight everything to the last second.

#12, yes, the house refuses to fund any part of it. But we have to explain to the pubbies in the house that anything other than complete defunding is unacceptable and will cost them their cushy job. Government runs on money. Until the pubbies realize since they control the purse strings they have the whip hand things will continue downhill. All these business killing EPA, OSHA, DOE, xyz dept regs could go away in a heartbeat if the house refused to provide money for the department. It's that simple.

Boehner has already signaled he will go along with amnesty and Obamacare. I am leaving the Republican party. I will not vote for a GOP establishment republican or a democrat. They are the flip side of the same coin. I kept voting for the Republican candidates even when I didn't like them and I have decided no more.

Impeaching President

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Several days ago some fringe “conservatives” mentioned the idea of impeaching President Obama. For reasons as obvious as they are numerous, that is a terrible idea. Saying that is like throwing chum out to the worst conservatives, the ones who act like liberals, the ones who are all angry instinct, who rather than strategize their way to victory would rather sweep the pieces off the table and throw a tantrum on the floor. Serious and effective conservatism demands putting facts and reason above emotion and hysteria. Some comments concerning potential impeachment are so

Sen. Harry Reid said Wednesday that he will push to confirm more judges to the federal appeals court in Washington, D.C., after that court ruled earlier this year that President Obama’s broad use of recess appointment powers was unconstitutional. “You have a majority in that court that is wrecking havoc in the country. For the first time in 230 years, they ruled the president can’t make a recess appointment, so yes there is a crisis,” Mr. Reid, the chamber’s leader, said on the Senate floor as he begged for quick action on more of the president’s judicial nominees.

Mayor Bloomberg went on a spitting-mad rant against a city cab-fleet boss who won a court victory over Hizzoner’s planned “Taxi of Tomorrow” — vowing to “destroy your f--king industry” when he leaves office, The Post has learned. A fuming Bloomberg made the threat against Taxi Club Management CEO Gene Freidman at Madison Square Garden’s private 1879 Club during last Thursday’s Knick playoff game, a witness said yesterday. “It was like Gene had kidnapped his child. He used the f-word twice,” the witness said. Freidman confirmed the blow-up to The Post, and said Bloomberg’s tirade included the warning that,

According to Republican Rep. Jim Jordan and White House visitor logs, former IRS Commissioner Douglas Shulman visited the White House 118 times in 2010 and 2011. This is the same time period when Tea Party groups were inappropriately targeted and intimidated by the IRS. Testifying in front of lawmakers on Capitol Hill Wednesday, Shulman admitted that many of the meetings with the White House were to discuss how to implement ObamaCare. "The IRS has a major roll in the money flow," Shulman said. Shulman denied ever discussing 501c(4) groups with White House officials

WASHINGTON – The Internal Revenue Serviced scandal today spread further within the White House and closer to President Obama. White House spokesman Jay Carney today disclosed that Obama’s chief of staff, Dennis McDonough, and other top White House officials had advance warning that the IRS was targeting conservative groups. But he insisted McDonough and the other White House officials purposely kept Obama out of the loop.McDonough “rightly chose not to take action” to inform Obama, Carney told reporters at the daily White House briefing.

Former Rep. Anthony Weiner, whose career in public life came to an abrupt end when he sent lewd pictures to a college student on Twitter, jumped back into politics on Wednesday by announcing a bid for mayor of New York City. “Look, I’ve made some big mistakes and I know I’ve let a lot of people down,” the Democrat said in a 2-minute video announcing his bid. “But I’ve also learned some tough lessons. I’m running for mayor because I’ve been fighting for the middle class and those struggling to make it for my entire life.

The wheels came off the Obama administration yesterday. We learned of a startling assault on freedom of the press by the Department of Justice, following the revelation last week of the unprecedented information-gathering foray by that department against The Associated Press. Then, a few minutes later, the Justice Department’s inspector general released a report declaring that the US attorney in Arizona used the leak of a confidential memo to try to discredit a whistleblower in the notorious “gun-walking” scandal known as Fast and Furious (which got two federal agents killed). The leak was called “egregious.”

WASHINGTON – A top IRS official in the division that reviews nonprofit groups will invoke the Fifth Amendment and refuse to answer questions before a House committee investigating the agency’s improper screening of conservative nonprofit groups. Lois Lerner, the head of the exempt organizations division of the IRS, won’t answer questions about what she knew about the improper screening – or why she didn’t reveal it to Congress, according to a letter from her defense lawyer, William W. Taylor 3rd. Lerner was scheduled to appear before the House Oversight committee Wednesday.

The dam protecting the IRS scandal began to crack today when Lois Lerner, the IRS official who announced, and apologized for, the improper singling out of conservative-leaning organizations by IRS employees under her command, announced through her criminal defense lawyer that she will not testify as scheduled tomorrow before the House Oversight Committee. Rather, she will assert her Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination. This marks an enormous milestone in the IRS investigation. It can now be taken as more or less established that crimes were committed by Obama administration employees. Lerner’s lawyer tried to minimize the significance

Former Democratic National committee chairman Howard Dean considers the controversy over Benghazi a “joke” and “silly.” “Benghazi is a laughable joke,” Dean proclaimed twice in a discussion with Republican National Committee communications chairman Sean Spicer last week. “With all due respect, governor, when four Americans die serving this country, that’s not a joke, sir,” Spicer responded. “Oh, stop it,” said Dean. The former Democratic presidential candidate also said that there were “no serious questions being asked about Benghazi” and brushed it off as an effort by Republicans to score political points.
