| In the decision desk at Fox News on election night, none of us paid much heed when it became clear that Republicans would maintain their majority in the House of Representatives. The information was broadcast quickly and everyone went back to talking about the presidential election. But actually it was rather extraordinary. Republicans won or are leading in 236 of the 435 House seats, down just six from the 2010 midterm. And they achieved this despite losing five seats because of partisan redistricting in Illinois and another five in California thanks to a supposedly nonpartisan redistricting commission

isn't this the same Michael Barone who predicted a Romney sweep? Yes - I thought so. I'm swiftly becoming more unwilling to listen to experts, no matter what they say or which ''side'' they're on. Their expertise seems to be more in line with being published or interviewed. meh...

Barone was never in the business to predict elections. I am sorry that he felt compelled to do so this time. But then again, with each passing second, I can't help but think about the very real possibility of voter fraud.

Larry Sabado was dead on regarding the election. Ditto intrade and Nate Silver. So was the real clear politics electoral college map. Time to embrace reality folks.

With the Speaker of the House intent on winning the "Christie Suck Up to Obama Award" I would suggest that it is the domocrats who find refuge in the House.

It's really quite simple. The Dems concentrated their voter fraud in the metropolitan areas and knew better than to try their shenanigans in the rural areas.

White House spokesman Jay Carney today disclosed that Obama’s chief of staff, Dennis McDonough, and other top White House officials had advance warning that the IRS was targeting conservative groups. The Washington Post on Monday reported that Obama’s Department of Justice was investigating journalists before they started wiretapping the Associated Press – for one, Fox News correspondent James Rosen in 2010. Their headline wasn´t "Obama Team Also Spied on Fox News." Fox wasn´t in the headline, on A-1 or on A-12, where the story continued. Newly obtained court documents “reveal how deeply investigators explored the private communications of a working journalist — and raise the question of how often journalists have been investigated as closely as Rosen was in 2010.” Reporter Ann Marimow began:

The wheels came off the Obama administration yesterday. We learned of a startling assault on freedom of the press by the Department of Justice, following the revelation last week of the unprecedented information-gathering foray by that department against The Associated Press. Then, a few minutes later, the Justice Department’s inspector general released a report declaring that the US attorney in Arizona used the leak of a confidential memo to try to discredit a whistleblower in the notorious “gun-walking” scandal known as Fast and Furious (which got two federal agents killed). The leak was called “egregious.”

Stuart Varney said this morning on "Varney & Co." that one of his producers was given a questionnaire with some surprisingly intrusive questions on it when he switched doctors. One of the questions was whether he/she was concerned about unsecured weapons in the home. Another asked whether he/she was "in a relationship in which you have been physically hurt or are you afraid of your partner?"
