Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. “cheated” the voters. But, knowing as much as they did, those who re-elected the MIA congressman are “crazy, mindless voters who are taking orders from downtown.” Those were some of the reactions from Jackson’s just vanquished rivals as they took in the surprise news that the freshly re-elected South Shore Democrat is in plea negotiations for alleged misuse of his campaign funds. Comments: Surprise! He couldn't mention this on the campaign trail why? Because he didn't campaign! Hey, any district that re-elects a candidate who doesn't campaign deserves to have bad representation.

He would have won anyhow. He is after all of the correct political party and skin tone. The ONLY two requirements for that district. Racist? perhaps, but show me where I'm wrong.

Jackson could be up on murder charges and still get re-elected. Does this person really believe that his plea deal is a big deal?
He's going to weasel out of using campaign funds to redecorate his house,a clear violation of the law.The problem is all his cohorts do the same thing.

Blacks were granted voting rights after being discriminated against for so long, and they squander that precious right by voting for scum. Alcee Hastings was a federal judge charged with soliciting bribes from drug dealers in his court, was acquitted by an OJ jury, was impeached and removed by the congress. And he ran for congress, won, and continues to be reelected. There are too many bad, lousy, corrupt blacks in congress to list them all.

,,,but let us not forget MLK,Jr famous words..."to be judged by the content of character and not skin color" These words are noble but in the black culture, they are meaningless..... skin color trumps everything! When about 17% of the population accounts for about 85% of all crimes....there is no character there; when black churches support gay marriage and expressly tell their congregants to vote for Obama in spite of all of his failed policies plus his "anything goes mantra to give everyone a fair shot"...there is no character.

Democrats wouldn't care at all if one of their own was a crook; it is the big D Democrat label that counts. Many elites knew JJ was under investigation, but did the media question why he was hiding in Mayo Clinic pretending he was mentally ill. Please, give me a break.
JJ will get a slap on the wrist, if he gets any chastisement at all.

Around the same time the nation was transfixed on the hunt for the Boston Marathon bombers last month, thieves on the other side of the country pulled off a little-noticed heist -- swiping 559 pounds of explosives from a federal storage facility in Montana. As of Friday, not one ounce of it has been found. The incident, federal officials believe, was not terrorism-related. But it´s the latest to raise security concerns in an age when authorities are warning about the desire of violence-bent terrorists to inflict mass casualties with bombs.

President Obama found himself weathering bipartisan broadsides Wednesday as he sent Congress his 2014 budget proposal, which in its effort to please both sides of the aisle has ended up angering both. The budget arrived on Capitol Hill Wednesday morning, delivered 65 days after the legal deadline. The $3.77 trillion spending plan, which is over 2,000 pages, tries to curb deficits by further raising taxes on top earners and reining in the growth of Social Security.

The Internal Revenue Service on Friday unveiled its proposal to raise tens of billions of dollars through annual fees on health insurers, prompting fierce criticism from industry groups who warn the costs will be passed along to consumers. The proposed rule from President Obama´s healthcare law will be published for public consideration in Monday’s Federal Register. The rule would assess annual fees on most insurers that would total $8 billion next year and rise thereafter, eclipsing $14 billion in 2018, according to the IRS.

Another member of the Washington political media stepped forward Thursday to claim he was threatened by the Obama White House, shortly after the White House denied reports that an adviser threatened famed Watergate journalist Bob Woodward. The latest claim comes from Lanny Davis, who served as counsel to former President Bill Clinton and later went on to write a column for The Washington Times.

President Obama’s political team is fanning out across the country in pursuit of an ambitious goal: raising $50 million to convert his re-election campaign into a powerhouse national advocacy network, a sum that would rank the new group as one of Washington’s biggest lobbying operations. (snip)But those contributions will also translate into access, according to donors courted by the president’s aides.

The fiscal crisis plaguing Detroit is now in the hands of Michigan´s governor after a state-appointed review team determined the city was in a financial emergency with "no satisfactory plan" to resolve it. Republican Gov. Rick Snyder has 30 days to decide if Detroit needs an emergency manager to take charge of its finances and spending, and come up with a new plan to get the city out of its financial mess. (Snip)The report also said the city´s bureaucratic structure makes it difficult to solve the financial problems. Intro repaired by staff

When you get right down to it, the political targeting and stalling of tax-exempt applications by the IRS was an effort to defund the Tea Party. Rick Santelli, one of the Tea Party founders and my CNBC colleague, was the first to make this point. I’ve taken it a step further: The IRS was taking the Tea Party out of play for the 2012 election, as it looked to avoid a repeat of 2010 and another Tea Party landslide. There are a lot of numbers out there.

Conservative radio host Mark Levin is very skeptical of the idea that President Obama had absolutely no idea about the IRS tea party targeting before the story broke in the news mere weeks ago. Levin declared adamantly that it is a “flat-out, bald-faced lie” that Obama didn’t know beforehand, citing prior reports by a few conservative news outlets picking up on the news well before the 2012 presidential election. Levin said, “I don’t believe for two seconds that Obama wasn’t aware of this.”

President Obama on Thursday nominated Victoria Nuland, a State Department official involved in the editing of the administration´s talking points on Benghazi, to be the next assistant secretary of state for European and Eurasian affairs. Nuland, a career foreign service officer who was until recently State´s top spokesperson, had long been expected to be nominated the post to replace Philip Gordon, who Obama picked to serve as Middle East coordinator for the National Security Council. Nuland´s nomination -- which requires Senate confirmation -- could come under scrutiny from Republicans who see her as playing a central role in shaping

Anthony Weiner’s New York mayoral candidacy was only made more improbable today after he revealed that he visited a Houston psychiatric facility following his resignation from Congress in 2011. Haunted by scandal surrounding his sexually explicit online communications with women, the Democratic former congressman sought treatment for his compulsive behavior from mental health professionals at the Gabbard Center. According to its website, the facility provides “3-day outpatient psychiatric evaluation,” particularly to “professionals who are in personal or professional crises.” While Weiner did not disclose

On “Fox News Sunday” last weekend, White House aide Dan Pfeiffer was asked about President Barack Obama’s whereabouts the night of the Sept. 11 attack in Benghazi. This was the night when we lost our first ambassador in 30 years, and when three other Americans were killed in an attack that lasted all night long at multiple locations within the eastern Libyan city. Since the president is commander in chief, one would think where he was and what he did during such an event would be of obvious public concern.
